I didn't bring Mansfield up, you did, its just very unlikely that's where they will be stopping.

Didn’t work that mate, unless Mansfield is enroute from Bradford to Cleethorpes and ‘not far’ from the ground?

Maybe stick to liking people’s post, then you don’t have to struggle.

Yeah, it'll be one of those ones that looks completely full but is still somehow a thousand or two down.

Looks like Bradford struggled in a relatively easy opening match, so I'm a bit more confident than I was when the fixtures first came out. Hoping the midfield three get on the ball a bit more than they did at Morecambe, as they were bypassed a bit with how direct we were at times. Some more Max Wright game time would be great too.

How is Green being played, traditional striker alongside Hanson?

Started in a three with Hanson and Ahkeem Rose on Saturday. Hanson obviously the big man in the middle and then Green and Rose working the channels, but Rose doing that more so than Green with neither of them really having a dedicated flank. Rose and Green were pretty fluid which is needed really as the midfield three, as much as I like them, are very much in your energetic swashbuckling run themselves into the ground mould and not so creative or likely to venture out wide. Hanson to his credit did put himself about a bit. Great to see a big tank of a centre forward huffing and puffing at full pelt on 87mins. Green was fairly quiet on Saturday but you can tell he's still got it. Just his general all round play and touch looked decent. I reckon both him and Hanson'll get 10-15.

We played Green on a wing for a very short while and didn't look overly comfortable. Did a job, but you could tell it wasn't his position. He had to do far more running than he was through the centre.

Stop taking offence to a shithole, being a complete shithole.

Why do you keep bringing up Mansfield on threads then complaining afterwards, it’s got nothing to do with this thread :bang:
He wasn’t taking offence to a shithole being a complete shithole.

He was potentially implying that Mansfield was a shithole.

It is, a drug infested one.

Yeah, he definitely wasn't on the wing. He was just naturally going wider than Hanson. It was probably more like Rose with a bit of a free role off Hanson and Green.

Said it for years now and I’m sure Lincoln fans will back me up but Green overall play is brilliant and probably his biggest attribute. Has he still got pace and power?

I’ll grant you, that is a game of darts and a map that has gone horribly wrong.

Hmmm, yes and no...he seemed like he's still got more power than what we had last season in the likes of Wes Thomas, Vernam, Cook, etc. It's more like not getting shrugged off the ball power as opposed to his explosive pace 2011-2013 2nd best striker in the Conference kind of power. What he does have now is a rather snazzy/silly haircut.

That's what happens when you pay a striker £5,000 a week, stupid haircuts.

The term struggle is slightly misleading. We struggled to score, but didn’t struggle per se’.

I fancy us - 2-1

442 please

GK: Richard O’Donnell

RB: Kelvin Mellor
CB: Anthony O’connor
CB: Ben Richards-Everton
LB: Jackson Longridge

RW: Sean Scannell
CM: Matty Palmer
CM: Hope Akpan
LW: Jordan Gibson

ST: James Vaughan
ST: Clayton Donaldson

Harsh on Eoin Doyle and Adam Henley, but shape is more important - especially away at the cauldron of noise, that is Blundell Park.

Paudie O’connor could be back, but it will probably come too soon. I fancy our CB’s to neutralise Hanson and Green.

Akpan gets the nod over Anderson as he may be injured, but I feel Akpan has the physical edge over Anderson anyway.

Looking forward to this one. Pleased it’s kicking off at 1pm, too.

I'm sure we had O'Donnell on loan a while back and he was absolutely terrible, has he improved since?

Surprising how easy it was to go online and get a couple of tickets in the home end for this one.

Can't imagine this to be a cracker due to the forecast, 1-0 either way for me.

Oh yeah, there's no kind of vetting system online. You've given our regime too much credit there!

Yeah whenever we advise tickets are selling really fast and advise everyone to get tickets early to avoid disappointment, what it actually means is we’re on for selling around 5500 home tickets, we never actually sell it out.
Even when it looks like there are barely any empty seats the attendance usually gets announced as between 5500 - 6000.

Ha. That’s as realistic as you having paid £850k for Andy cook.

Oh, hold on a minute...........:bg:

I hope Greenie keeps his financial situation personal or we might have a few problems in Cleethorpes.

Probably is, am sure at the Q&A earlier in the week Jolley said that when he got here nearly all players were on roughly the same wages now there is much more varience and it allows him to sign players that he previously couldn't.

I will have to listen again but pretty sure that was the jist of it.

Having 4 or 5 youths graduates who won't be on much allows us to pay higher wages for the experienced players, even with the 17th highest budget in the league.

I rate him!

He snubbed WBA for us last summer.

Yeah, that's exactly what he said. Worth pointing out that last season our highest earner played about three times and then sat on the bench before getting released for beating up a granny in a bus stop.

I bet he was pleased with his choice.

First team football, INIT.

Don’t forget, we were one of the favourites to go up last season. It really wasn’t beyond any realm of possibility that we could’ve been playing Champ football this season.

So, make the most of it, pudding.
