Lucky to come away with a point.

Hopefully shuts up all the arrogant fans who think we have a genuine chance of top 3. Pipe down you little fuckers.

Wish you’d pipe down you boring c***!

Really pleased with that second half, we were miles better and deserved 3-4 in the second half. We’re just lacking a creative midfielder.

Poor game. Quite a poor performance from City. Grimsby a very limited side, but played to their strengths well - lumping it to two big strikers.

We were better for the first 5/10 mins of the second half but after scoring completely and utterly let Grimsby control the game. No wonder Grimsby eventually scored coming from one of their two plays into the box - a set piece (other being long balls).

We could've nicked it in the last ten mins but would've been underserved.

Bowyer has to stop playing 4-3-3 and shoehorning Doyle in. Does not work.

I watched the game via a dodgy iFollow stream.

Blimey, Grimsby are the new Lincoln - very agricultural. Could work for them, too. Deserved 3 points today.

Bradford were very difficult to surmise. First half looked like it was all a bit of a culture shock and we’re lucky to go in all square.

Towards the end of the 2nd half they looked pretty good, got in some decent positions but a bit powder puff up front. Macdinald looks fine in build ups but offers little when it comes to actually having a shot.

I can see why they want rid of Doyle.

I think it's going to a take a few games for us to get going.

You're right about the culture shock and we've come down on the back of pretty much 18 months of losing games.

The occasions today and last week when we did play football we look decent, so the promise is definitely there. It's just a case of whether Bowyer can coax it out fully and consistently.

Fans spend a week saying we need to change the 433 that flopped last week only to see Bowyer do the exact same thing and once again only come away with a point is incredibly frustrating.
The need for a left winger and centre mid has been there all preseason but this really is something that needs addressing sooner rather than later.

After looking at both forums, both teams fans have gone overboard. For us, it’s ‘looking like a good season is on the cards’ and a few of the Bantams say Bowyer ain’t it. Way too early and OTT.

Second half was much better as the Vaughan goal woke everyone up. Think the Hanson goal was a tad lucky but we more than deserved it after our sustained pressure. Thought Bradford were neat and obviously have some decent players but almost no penetration. We set up defensive in the first half to avoid getting picked off but once we piled bodies forward, it actually seemed to improve us. Still think Bradford will be up there once the attack clicks. Thought Doyle was much better than he has been given credit for. Don’t think the defence is up to much, especially against a physical side like us.

Think we’re ok defensively but I’m not a fan of a RB at LB and a CM at RB - maybe Jolley just doesn’t trust Ring, which is a shame. Worried that Rose may have done his hamstring again but we live in hope. Ogbu is in a weird category - looks so awkward and like he doesn’t know what he’s doing but is a ball winner and he barely gives it away. Will watch him with interest.

These two games have made me think that if we can’t out-football the better footballing sides in this league (FGR, Bradford) then we have a chance of outmuscling and outpacing them unlike last year (obviously not in a dirty way).

Overall an underwhelming game but I would’ve taken a point beforehand.

I think the criticism of Bowyer is not without good reason, his win percentage is currently 15%, granted last season was a disaster for all but he continues to make odd basic errors weekly, leaves good players on the bench, repeatedly starts poor ones, fails to learn from obvious mistakes...
That’s not a ‘Bowyer out’ post but he must show some signs of improvement at some point or people will start to chirp up.

Yet again the system was wrong. Doyle cannot play AM so I've no idea why Bowyer is even attempting it. Scannell is the only player who can carry the ball and get the team up the pitch. Hes easily one of the best wingers in this league, has to start unless it's a fitness issue.
We desperately need a tough tackling centre midfielder who does the horrible stuff needed in league 2. We've got too many who want to play pretty football. I'm hoping we will make another couple of signings as we're still a bit short of quality in some positions.

Enjoyed the game today, we probably deserved a win over 90 minutes but there were some crucial saves by both keepers as well as some wayward finishing either way so we can't be disappointed with a draw. It's far too early to say where either team will be, you can tell Bradford have some quality players without quite figuring out the best way to utilise them, whereas our players may be a bit more limited but our system and our identity is incredibly more refined than last season already.

Hewitt my MOM today, thought he was brilliant from start to finish. Hanson and Green were quality too and Ogbu showed enough glimpses to get excited about. We clearly miss a creative spark in the middle but I'm very happy with how our squad is progressing.

Just watched some extended highlights and it’s bizarre just how different some of the chances where to how I saw them from sat in the Pontoon.
At the time I thought the save from Matt Greens swivel shot, and also McKeowns save near the end at the back post were both worldies but watching them back they were both pretty routine saves.
Also from my angle (towards left side of Pontoon as you look at it) I thought that Hanson’s header was going in no matter what and the defenders touch just helped it on its way, but actually after watching it back the keeper would’ve saved it easily.
Also the early save from Akheem Rose, at the time we thought it’d been cleared off the line by a defender, maybe we might need to go to Specsavers! :P1:

WANTED IN THE STATE NORTH EAST LINCOLNSHIRE:
A no good group of bandits going by the name of Bradford is wanted for the crimes of stealing 2 points, struggling generally at football and for overly excessive use of the seats in the Osmond Stand.

Count yourself lucky, we'd have stole all 3 if not for a lucky deflection.

You may have thought it was a lucky deflection but James Hanson knows exactly how to manipulate the ball with every corner of his 50p head and he knew where and how it was going to bounce. As the ball comes to him his sophisticated mind calculates the most likely route for the ball to hit the back of the net and in this particular instance he chose to score via the means of intentional deflection.

He'd be really good at snooker then.

I'm now concerned that we only drew with a team that couldn't beat the 4th favourites for relegation at home and have just been 0-4 against PNE reserves...are we sure Bradford aren't just as bad as Scunthorpe...?

It's hard to kick a losing culture. We haven't won a game since March and Bradford havent won many either (except the one against us). Sadly, I think Bradford have the quality that once they get one win they will get rolling. The less said about us the better.

Preston reserves were a lot better than our reserves, don’t worry yourselves Grimsby fans.

Erm it was our reserves? We had Eoin Doyle as a lone striker, we'd have lost to non league sides playing like that let alone a team with Brad Potts and Tom Barkhuizen who are better than owt in this league.

You've got a more than adequate squad for this level and a manager with a decent track record for organisation and getting dressing rooms in order. Unfortunately, it won't be like this for long for you either.

Nice luxury to be able to field a team of reserves though.
