Good debate going on here. Refreshing that people can disagree without resorting to name calling.

For what it's worth I do think taking the knee is gesture politics but that is not a bad thing. Making a gesture can be the start of making a change. The Suffragettes chained themselves to the Downing Street railings. A gesture? Yes, but a gesture that led to other gestures that eventually led to change.

The booing is also a gesture. I dont condemn the people who boo but I do think they are wrong to do so. I would ask what they would do instead. So far I haven't had a decent answer.

And that is your business why? Or are you one of these people who believes that transgender people exist specifically to wind you up?

Maybe that's why you hate Masi so much.
I’m always surprised how people can get so wound up by transgender people. I’m fairly confident most on here will have never met one in the first place.

I can’t say I necessarily agree with it because I can’t understand it tbh, but have absolutely zero issues with it - you want to be called a male/female? No skin off of my nose, not sure how it makes any impact on my life.

If they’ve gone through the effort of changing their identity, it must be a pretty serious thing in their life, what gives me the right to then get angry over it and overrule how they feel? Then to suggest that issues with trans people are for the reason there’s still racism...

Wasn’t long ago women couldn’t vote, men couldn’t understand why they would even want to vote..

The world is a diverse place. You are going to have a less interesting time and make it unpleasant for other people if you live on it without listening to them.

Biologically you are indeed born either male or female, but gender is a spectrum of socially constructed norms, so I couldn't care less how other people choose to identify. The more identities the merrier.

In history there are examples of societies with more than two recognised genders.

It’s evolutionary to dislike something that upsets the social norms, because instinctually it poses a threat to survival.

I’d like to think that we’re now smart enough to overcome many, but not all, of our evolutionary instincts.

Sadly we are still too far away from being at that point.

I took extra interest in the FGR v Bristol City stand against Discrimination.
The two teams shuffled about ensuring that a red shirt was standing next to a green shirt in act of solidarity.
Ringing endorsement by the crowd who stood up to applaud.

Simple statement by FGR on issue:
FGR players will invite their opponents to stand together before games this season against discrimination.
As a group of players, they believe taking the knee has lost some of its impact – and with supporters back in stadiums this season, believe this new approach will spark conversation in the terraces about tackling hate in the game.
We fully support the first-team’s approach for the upcoming season.

Palestine penned back in their box for 90 mins, Israel defending from the front.

Palestinian home stand knocked down, rebuilt and all home fans replaced with away supporters.
