Mike Dean comes out of the crowd to take over from the injured linesman (as 4th official).

There will be a tense 15 minutes as we get closer to the answer of the question on everyone's mind: Who's starting the relegation thread this year?

Absolutely inexplicable straight red for Merrie. I've watched it a few times and it's a very soft tackle that won the ball. One of the worst decisions I've ever seen.

Was thinking earlier on, that Colchester keeper looks like an accident waiting to happen. Then I realised its shamal george

He has been excellent for us whenever he's played since he signed to be fair.

Very poor loss that, cost ourselves really as Northampton didn’t have to create a single piece of quality to beat us. If you concede a goal like that and your keeper has a brain fart it’s going to cost you and pretty much did.

Bit concerned by that if I’m honest.

Our game went pretty much as expected - 1-0 to Stevenage, we struggled to put chances away. Extremely scrappy game with something like a dozen bookings.

Both teams looked like they'll be okay this season, but we need a midfielder and a forward in before the window closes.

Still disappointing despite knowing that was going to happen last week.

That was absolute fucking dogshit. Can’t say as Northampton did a great deal but they deserved to get something more than we did. But I did expect a bumpy start and it seems that’s what we are getting.

Covolans sending off was not smart either, let’s word it like that…

The definitely going down suspects are out already on ours.

Of course. Little fucking cry babies. The difference today was a defensive error - and it's not like Stevenage are a dreadful side.

Our squad looks a little light, but I imagine most clubs in the division would say the same.

Sort of scenes you really miss, nothing like being in the ground for an injury time winner.

Ebou Adams you beautiful man. What a legend

Handy away win at Scunny. 1-3 (Payne, Gladwin, Mckirdy) No idea how we played but that's a perfect start.

New owner celebrating in the away end. Perfect day.

Well on top against Crawley most of the game deserved the win by the sounds of it. Tyler Burey seems handy?

Class to get that first win on a special day.

Up the fucking Pools.

Today told us what we already knew, we just cannot compete with the team we have. We can only dream of being able to afford Ben Gladwin and Anthony Grant unfortunately, those two just looked a class above our players.

Didn't play terrible today but as always, we got injuries. Our starting keeper is now on crutches because we cant catch a break for whatever reason.

Swindon looked really good, thought there time wasting and going down easily was very embarrassing and unnecessary considering how much better they were. Watching McKirdy every week must get tiresome.

Well we defended well and restricted Bradford to very few chances. Really impressed with Dawson and Sweeney had an excellent game.
But marred by Atangana missing an incredible sitter at the end.
Very frustrated at that. With a bit more creativity we could cause teams problems though

didn't affect the red card at all but northampton are a team of absolute cheats.

did we put a single tackle in without them throwing themselves to the floor? danny rose comes on and had dived more than he touched the ball. could and should have had 2 yellows, one for the dive given and one for his dissent.

Otherwise, we were shit, got what we deserved. northampton no better. they only really got on top at all in the last 10 when we were trying and failing to launch an attack.

very poor afternoon.

That’s just standard Danny Rose, remember that afternoon at VP against Mansfield.

Poor start and feel a bit flat as that was there for the taking. Covolan getting two reds in a week is pretty worrying!

Hard to argue with that really. Scrappy goal to concede for Port Vale, and a real awful keeper decision, but the work ethic of Kabamba won both of those for us. Feel like we're a bit wobbly at fullbacks defensively and not that strong in the air and the centre-midfield was poor. Kabamba gave us everything we missed since Oliver lost however, Koiki looked dangerous coming on and starting to actually galvanize us in the last 20 minutes, and it was a very composed defensive performance once the red card had been given. Really good to have an actual keeper rather than a calamity in goal for the first time absolute years.

Yes, we had an A+ for shithousery today. Tbf, we’ve had next to no pre season, the players hardly know each other and we looked tired towards the end. Played some great stuff at times but still looked a bit flaky at the back. Hopefully better to come!

Started off well enough but as the first half progressed ran out of ideas. Second half we were clueless but for a 10 minute spell where we proceeded to miss 2 or 3 easy chances. I think losing Clough minutes before kick off was a blow, he may have produced the required quality to break through Colchester. Happy enough with a point as I expected none, but at the same time frustrated because if we had a footballer who knew how to finish we’d be sitting on 3 points.

Think we just about deserved that win. Was a close game but like a 60/40 thing where we were the better team. Clear red card and pretty clear penalty in my admittedly biased eyes from up in the West Stand.

Chuckled at Barton making a point to shake hands with both linos but not the ref after the game too.

Perhaps more than any of that though, just enjoyed being back at a game and in that atmosphere. Few pints beforehand, having a few with me dad afterwards now too. After what we've all been through let's just enjoy the season IMO, whoever you support.

Safe journey home to the Gas that went and good luck for the season to the fans on here.
