It's all over social media. 17:47 is a direct football special train to Crewe.
Yeah, hadn't seen anything about it last night, but spotted it today. Decent idea, just hope there is plenty of police on it, as I'd imagine there will be a lot of very oiled, very pissed off/jubilant Alex youngsters making noise and causing trouble.

I’m guessing, as it’s now sold out we are looking at perhaps 18,250-18,500. Actual bums on seats 16,500

A fantastic effort that. There is a huge difference at the San Sirrel when 8000 is there compared to the usual 4000-6000 , so to have double that crammed in will be an incredible sight. Naturally there will Notts fans who continue their usual pre match routine and will show up at 2:45pm, and will then be shocked at the queues at the turnstiles and will moan for the next 15 mins.

The Huddersfield home game that is still spoken of is a footballing day, I will never forget. Hugely important, sunny day, big crowd, tense, great atmosphere and a win.

The usual big crowd curse will no doubt hit again tomorrow. Regardless , great offer from the Chairman, great response from both sets of fans given the circumstances , and there are only a select few clubs that could repeat this offer and get this sort of crowd for a 4th tier game of hoofball

Hopefully a few other teams / chairman will copy this approach later this season.

I have just seen a group of about fifty fourteen year olds from Crewe not allowed in the pub and be given a police escort to McDonalds and my season has peaked.

Is Tootle still out with an illness? It's been weeks now.

Also, Nolan seems determined with this Alessandra over Hawkridge thing despite the latter being better and giving the team more balance

Tootle has hand, foot and mouth disease. It’s not that bad in itself but apparently is incredibly contagious, so presumably we’re being extra cautious with it.

Big fan of Nolan randomly finding the Afghan Luka Modric

Elliott Hewitt. Player of the season. What a boy.

...better than Yates

Reports of Notts demise are greatly exaggerated

That was more like it!

Hoping/thinking that we might be back in business with January out of the way. Has been really disruptive with Yates going, constant rumours about Grant, some new players to bed in, Nolan pissing about with the formation and the FA Cup.

That was more like the Notts of before Christmas. Solid and uncompromising with some flashes of quality and, in the end, convincing winners. Husin looks a real find and Bennett’s cameo was also impressive.

Crewe looked neat between the boxes but very ineffective in both. In the end we probably should’ve had a couple more.

Funny sort of game, it didn't feel like a 4-1 tonking yet we could have had seven.
Hewitt was immense, Hussin scored a screamer at a crucial time for us as we looked flat as a pancake until the goal.
Great to see Meadow Lane full and credit to Crewe for doing their bit.
It was vital to win today and we now have to go on a run and match the other teams in the top seven.

Great result after the mini choke.

The problem being is that others are now keeping pace.

Ended up going, what a terrible decision.

Lovely passing triangles in our own half. The rest was fucking atrocious. Can’t wait for relegation to shake this club to its core.

Thought 4-1 was a little harsh on us, but when you can't even do the basics of defending, you've got no chance. The fact of the matter is, we've got a very poor side with very little quality and avoiding relegation will be a miracle. Only hope is that there are a few sides down near the bottom that look as inept as us. Next week is so so big, fail to win that and we may as well just accept relegation.

Great result after the mini choke.

The problem being is that others are now keeping pace.

A lot of the other teams up there seem to have tough runs coming up/are playing each other, whereas we're not playing anyone else in the picture now until our game with you - if we can take advantage and put a run together we should be in a good place.

Thankfully Nolan seems to have well and truly ditched the 4-5-1 formation that cost us at least three points IMO, and has gone back to what we're good at, resulting in a draw with a strong Swansea side and the sort of win today that we were chalking up earlier in the season, as Jacob said. Plus Noor Husin looks a real find and Mason Bennett made a promising cameo, scoring and rattling the bar.

Good to get back on track, especially in front of 17,000+.

As mentioned, Crewe knocked it around nicely but without much penetration. Was bemused you were still passing it out from goal kicks with a full back on either side at 3-1 down with 5 to go. Even more so when Raynes (?) accepted one inside the box. Thought Bowery was good upfront, got an excellent touch with his back to goal.

I thought 4 - 1 flattered Crewe, could easily have been 5 or 6. What surprised me was that despite being 4-1 they kept chucking people forward. It's obvious that Crewes problems are in defence because going forward, at times they could look quite near despite not creating a lot

If we can play like that most weeks, we will be fine. It's close at the top of the table, lots of teams in good form and on good runs. January was tough for us... No shying away from it. We have added well in Noble, Bennet and Husin. The latter looking like he could be a top player at this level

Great to read all this from the land down under. Gutted I couldn’t go , over 17000 must have been quiet a sight before and during the game.

We needed this sort of opponent after our recent struggles, and although over the years Crewe have had some excellent sides and play lovely stuff they have always been soft. As soft as playdough

Viking, do you think you will get 17,000 through the gate when we bring 4,000 next month.

10 - 12k is probably more realistic. Last year was 11k when we were absolute dog shit

No chance as you know, plus it’s physically impossible. Our stadium is big but it’s not that big ;)

Anything over 11,000 would be great, although as always the home fans will leave disappointed can only see an away win.

The other question is how many more (or less) home fans will be at the next Field Mill game after the ‘Big Day Out’ ? :brill:

Decent offer by Notts that. Glad it paid off in terms of fans turning up and can make a difference on the field. We did a 1994 promotion special and charged prices at £8 (94 prices) towards the end of our league two promotion season and pulled in 5 figures and the place was rocking. Beat rivals for promotion Burton 7-1 too! Worth doing and hopefully helps a few cling on and return next week.

More teams need to do it.

Some banning orders heading your lots way Monday morning with the amount of smoke bombs being thrown at stewards by the Crewe fans particularly after our fourth goal. An escort to McDonalds is laughable but probably more of a safeguarding issue.

Never in my lifetime would I have throught Crewe at home in February would pull a crowd like that. If 500 decide that was good and return occasionally it was worthwhile lots of people attending for the first time yesterday and seeing a 4-1 can only be good for the club. Glad Nolan has abandoned the 451 and is sticking to what we do well.

The chasing pack have closed the gap but if we win our game at Barnet maybe a gap will slowly open again

Our schooligans were out in force. Lots of fighting amongst our own fans on Saturday it seems, which is very sad to see, probably just further indicates the situation were in.

Watching Crewe reminded me of Notts the season Moniz was here. So many numbers above the usual 30.... Usually an indication the side hasn't been settled and that there's been too many players

Depends on whether both teams are still in the same kind of position, give or take. Imagine that they probably will be.
