Credit where credits due, over 1200 Derby fans at BP today, superb support. :hail: :hail:
Just a shame about the result eh.... ;)
Apparently that Twitter figure was a mistake. 846, still decent for a friendly though.

Won 6-1 away at some lower league Swiss team you've never heard of. Hemed off the mark.

Pre-season doesn't truly kick off though until our now traditional friendly vs Lewes at the (Dripping) Pan Siro next Saturday. Sevilla at the Amex for our final preparations in early August. Won't bother with any of the others.

Suppose it's just getting used to the style of Clement and getting fitness up, so it'a not an awful result by any means. As already said, as long as we're ready for Bolton then we'll be good.

A good performance and a 3-1 win against a strong Aston Villa over in Portugal tonight. Matt Smith, McCormack and Kackaniklic with the goals.

We had a number of players involved who weren't around last season like Larnell Cole, Adam Taggart and Thomas Eisfeld. Interesting if they're given a chance.

0-0 with Chorley today. No idea what happened other than Garner missing a penalty.

Beat Shelbourne 6-0... Pitman with a couple. Henshall got one too... all early signs pointing towards him being involved this season.

Hardly convincing opposition but pleasing to get off to a winning start nevertheless.

Sheff Wednesday drew 1-1 with Alfreton yesterday. Playing the first XI over two different XI each half. If I was a Wednesday Id wouldnt be happy. Only created one other clear cut chance other than the goal and look similar last season with not much of a threat up front.

Yeah because a pre season game at a sixth tier club will define our season....

May as well give up now.

Oh and we had 70% of the ball, that was the main exercise.

Of course it wont but if I was a Wednesday fan Id be expecting a 3 or 4-0 nil win with some clea cut chances.

You having all the possession is an absolute given.

We lost to Weston last year and completely stormed the league

If it was a competitive game we wouldn't have fielded 22 players we played our 3rd and 4th choice keepers and players that have been together less than a week.

It's about assessing fitness not the result.

Guys I am baiting nobody. Its just my opinion from yesterdays game. And as I clearly said above its early days in pre season and under Caravhal for Wednesday.

Not buying that for a second.

Lets face it, nobody can take anything from Wednesday drawing 1-1 with Alfreton. It has no bearing nor indication of the season to come whatsoever. Fact.

Our first team won 4:0 last night against St James' Gate in Dublin.

For those that aren't familiar they're the blokes shunting barrels about in the current Guinness adverts!

Still, we hit the woodwork five times and it was just a run out. Two more Irish friendlies (against Limerick and Cabinteely) follow before we head home on Thursday morning.

Rotherham lost 3-2 to Alfreton. Former Coventry manager Stephen Pressley was spotted in the crowd.

As Walkley says you shouldn't read too much into friendlies.

The 2nd and 3rd goals scored by Alfreton we scored after about 5 kids had been introduced.
Plus there was no Derbyshire, Ledesma, Buxton, Mattock or White on show.

However, I couldn't say we played very well, mainly because Alfreton were so up for it.
They challenged for every ball all over the pitch and had some very good individual performances, especially in the second half.

It does make you wonder though when part-timers make full time young professionals look second best.
Some of them looked worth a punt for league 2 teams, I've seen quite a few worse footballers in a Rotherham shirt over the years.
