Lost 3-1 to Getafe and there were two proper fights on the pitch but somehow only 1 red card what went to a Getafe player. They were a bloody dirty side.

We played them at the weekend and had a player sent off for elbowing and caused a scrap when one kicked a ball at Kelly's head as he was on the floor after being fouled! Filthy!

It was quite surprising really, one of them hit Carl Baker so Baker got up and absolutley twatted him, no one saw it though.

On the 90th minute this Getafe player went through the back of Carruthers. He jumped up swung and hit this Getafe player who reacted by punching Carruthers square in the face. Somehow Carruthers only got a yellow, was a very violent game.

Seemed like a decent game at Carlisle last night, lost 4-3, two penalties for them and they had a man sent off, straight red I think.

Jordan Hugill sounds like he has had another good game, scoring twice and setting up Will Keane for the other one.

Was a bit of a half squad with us playing Ashington tonight, who are weirdly managed by Steve Harmison.

Was 22,000 at Molineux last night. Not bad for a pre season game on a Tuesday night when parts of the stadium were closed off.

They were very petty at times. Its what you see from a lot of La Liga sides on SS5 to be fair just not expected in a friendly!

PNE are playing the wrong ball game tonight. They're up against Ashington AFC, who are managed by Steve Harmison, and they have the have Freddie Flintoff to bring on off the bench.

Flintoff was an unused sub, it was something for TV with Harmison being their manager and playing against his hometown club.

To be fair, we started out as a cricket club.

Anyway, our youth team won 1-0, Jack Ryan with the goal.

I was expecting Garner, Beckford, Gallagher, Huntington and maybe Humphrey to play who didn't travel to Carlisle last night.

We drew 1-1 with Villarreal tonight, and should have won it had Darren Bent not repeated his penalty taking exploits from the Reading game.

An extremely encouraging performance tonight. Thorne got 90 mins and was mostly superb. Will Hughes was by far the best player on the pitch, and Andreas Weimann is looking like a steal!

I thought we were excellent tonight, no-one had a bad game. Warnock worried me slightly in the first 20 minutes, but he soon got up to speed with their winger.

Desperately unlucky not to win by at least a couple of goals - Bent missed a penalty, Martin had one cleared off the line and Hendrick had a postage stamp free-kick somehow tipped over the bar.

Chris Baird will turn out to be an inspired signing, I feel. Fantastic captain. He's an incredibly smart player, knows what to do and when to do it.

Neither of you mention the Villareal shot which hit the post and bounced to safety when they were leading 1-0.......two down with 20-odd minutes to go would have left an uphill struggle.:conf:

Why would we mention that? We were by far and some way the better team all over the field tonight, on possession, on chances.. on everything. I'm not sure a shot hitting the post discounts that.

They created a few chances on the counter, which I believe that shot that hit the post was, as was their goal, but we dominated the overall play. They could turn it on, and they did now and again, but it's not surprising as they finished 6th in La Liga and have just beat Wolfsburg and Lyon.

I thought we definitely emphasised the control element of our game tonight. The passing was sharp, the switching of the ball was clever and the system seems to be rubbing off on the players.

The difference between now and two weeks ago is huge.

The mighty Rams!!!
Caught the last twenty minutes of the first half and the second half of the game. Very encouraging. We seem to have sped up our play with passing and movement. Will be interesting to see how we do in a more competitive game. Second half better than the first in terms of getting Hughes on the ball more which is encouraging.

Quite pleased with how we are doing. Just need to know who the first 11 is and settle down. Keogh played well.

Villereal were good on the break - quick, incisive and direct with some good play. Thought we looked in general quite comfortable.

Baird really showed his composure throughout.

Samir didn't swing a punch their player. Got up as though he was going to after the challenge but never did. Also, their player didn't actually connect a punch with Carruthers . He went to, but Samir threw himself to the ground play acting. Not necessary in my view, but it was, as you say, a very tetchy game. Saw it clearly from Club Red. I can see why anyone in the Cowshed or East Stand thought a punch had landed, but I can assure you neither one did.

Our bench tonight is quite something:

O'Leary, Harper, Kelly, El-Abd, Burns, Reid.

The first 3 have never made a professional appearance. The last 3 were loaned out to League 2 last season.

What's the over reaction? That bench is a joke. We've just played our last friendly, and bar a decent 11 we have nothing. We won promotion with time to spare, we should have things lined up. We're building a brand new stadium, we should be looking to push on, attract new fans ect. I know which way things are looking atm, and it isn't up.

Do you think I'm over reacting?

the over reaction is people stating we will go down already, our squad needs a few people to bolster it but our players that we have havent suddenly become piles of turds over the course of pre season. our squad is thin and we may end up shorter on players than planned for the first few games but there is still a month left of the transfer window, plus the loan windows after that. we may end up short for 1 or 2 of the first few games, but i have never seen a team relegated 2 games into a 46 game season

Our friendly with Espanyol passed without incident.

A sending off for each team, a touchline brawl, and this:

Drew 1-1 with FC Utrecht with last minute penalty. Tabb was left back when they scored from our left but then Knudsen came on and looks a bargain for £350k! Not much long ball you'll be pleased to know

Actually our long ball game has changed to long throws from Knudsen
