Is James Curtis the lanky centre back? He was always very good against us. Also, where is Jamie Chandler? Another player who's looked brilliant every time against us.
Can vouch for how bad Gateshead fans are saying they've been. They were poor the other week.
Chandler injured and sadly missed. Curtis is the tall centre back witn ginger hair. Been with club over 10 year and puts effort in, a fans favourite and good partnership with temp joint manager ben clark. On saturday he weren't even on bench! I dont know what happened, faling out with crosby or what but there were 2 other senior pros on bench and loanee mafutu whos seemed canny was nowhere to be seen. Odd goings on and hopefully weve seen a end to it

Cox will splash the cash, motivate and play unbelievably direct football.

Well that's good, because we've got cash and play direct football - just need some motivation. He's been given the target of a top half finish, which is well within reason for this squad. Also a three and a half year deal.

Why's he been given a top half finish target given that your Chairman 'can't wait for success' and you're around mid-table anyway?

More about the break in the contract than the length of it. You can offer a 10 year deal as long as they're right.

Aspin to Gateshead and Richard Hill wants the Halifax job according to the NLP.

Aspin to Gateshead looked nailed on from the moment Crosby was sacked.

Please not Hill. The last thing we need is everyone playing their best against us to try and get a move! :D

I know that NLP journo speaks to our previous Chairman to get his info on us, the local BBC reporter is subsequently saying the club are drawing up a shortlist and not close to an appointment (he's more likely to be in touch with the new chairman).

So Hill used that line when Eastleigh played you as well. What a cock Hill was, cant see him getting a gig anywhere with a limited budget :)

Sorry, I meant that top half has been stated as a minimum. Play-offs and promotion will always be the target.
Seems like a good appointment to me, really. Of course, the forum idiots are already up in arms because they've seen on the Mansfield forum that he's known for his direct style - how many successful teams at this level don't favour that type of football?

Would be interesting to see who the two are that were also spoken to about the vacancy but were turned down.

Best move you've made in ages. Will need a miracle to stay up, but you've got a better chance without "The Deluded One"

You compared him to Mourinho once.

Lest we forget.

Kiddy need just short of two points per game from now until the end of the season to survive. Grim.

I've said a lot of shit down the years, but don't give me credit for that one.

That came from another of our contingent on here, and was almost certainly said with a fair bit of irony. No FGR fan would even stretch as far as to compare Hockaday to comparative managerial greats such as Dean Saunders, let alone the special one (unless it was this season).

Well the special one was sacked recently so it's obvious where he's ending up :2thumb::ds:

But seriously happy he's been sacked it's just come far too late. Losing to Stourbridge once is bad enough but twice is ridiculous. Hope we bring in somebody with Conference North experience as it's too late for a revival.

Us winning at the Kingfield on December 5th to get him the sack is an appealing notion. He can stay until then.

I wonder if he's still sending grapes to Scott Rendell on his deathbed.

How did that one work out for you? Even more appealing now we're above you in the table?

If Eastleigh aren't amongst the top five come Christmas then Richard Hill will be out of the door (I know this because the Eastleigh boardroom told me). Barry Smith at Aldershot will last the season because they won't be able to pay him off with just a packet of Haribo. Aspin, Pennock, Crosby and Moyses other feasible candidates.

I just need that Moyses bloke to go for this one to come in.

It appears Colin Gordon may be taking over for the rest of the season, or at least for the near future, being assisted by goalkeeping coach Kevin Phillips and a couple of the senior players. Our chairman has said that they will take their time on a new appointment.

Gary Mills will inevitably be under pressure now . He's made some bizzare decisions and our form last 6 weeks has been abysmal.

I can see us picking up 1 point from the next 9

You play us at home, Bromley at home and Welling in those next 9. How do you only see 1 point?

My mistake , thought we had FGR and Eastleigh . Oops . Still think we could lose to Bromley and Welling though .

7 points need to be our minimum aim

Nah, think Moyses will be next. Questioned his own position publicly tonight.
