Next year will be shite. And we'll finish lower mid table.

If Preston don't go up, they'll walk it next year.

I wouldn't be so sure, Garner will be gone and I doubt we could re-sign Beckford, Gallagher and Johnstone permanently.

I am sure that Daniel Johnson will stay and reject us again though.

Some very contradictory reports coming from the top. Our chief executive says our budget will be in the top three of the league next season, but then we have Harris saying he intends to prioritise the wave of academy graduates that are currently breaking through and it may take us two or three seasons to bounce back. All this in the midst of a summit where our chairman, CEO and manager will mash out a long term plan for the club apparently to place us on the same lines as the likes of Bournemouth and Swansea. All talk but interesting after years of shortsighted fuck ups.

I have no doubt we'll be in this league next year.

I'm also pretty sure Grayson will be manager, despite a load of fans thinking he'll be sacked should we bottle the play offs. All depends on what 3 time Grand National winning owner Uncle Trev thinks.

Definitely have no Garner if we stay in this division. Probably have no Gallagher or Johnstone neither as SF pointed out.
I reckon Humphrey will fuck off (end of contract) as well as a few of the deadwood.

All comes down to what Grayson does in the transfer market, and we usually end up with 6 crap signings and a couple of goodens. I personally wouldn't trust him to rebuild the squad.
I really like Grayson as a manager, but then I really don't. Trying really hard to think who could do a better job and is a realistic target for us. I'd happily gamble on Uwe Rosler, I also reckon Billy Davies would snap at the chance of coming back, but that'd cause a shit storm.

I don't think Grayson should be potted if we fail to go up, i've been as critical as anyone about him but at the end of the day he's amassed a points total of 89pts, despite losing our best player for 2 months. If someone like Leeds decided to poach him though then i'd be very happy with Rosler and I'd do fucking cartwheels if we got that horrible, unloyal, nob head, troll Billy Davies back. I still love the bastard.

I do have concerns about Grayson being in charge of a full, rebuild though if it comes down to that.

Grayson has done a good job for you and if you don't go up via playoffs then i think he deserves at least another season based on his record this season.

I think his job is safe, regardless, I don't think anyone would be gutted if he moved on but it would mean we're back to square one and we might pick up some absolute chump in the mould of Westley or Ferguson instead.

He's fucked me off plenty of times since he's been PNE manager but at least you know you're pretty much guaranteed top six with him and you might fluke it and go one better.

Our whole season pretty much hangs on the next week or so. Mowbray has asked for SISU to actually back him in order for him to stay so if he does I'm quietly confident. If he leaves however that just goes to shows that there is going to be zero backing from SISU this season and a new manager would struggle to replace the shite we've got in our squad.

It should be a highly competitive tight league again, I'd expect the gap between the relegation places and play offs to be as tight as it was for the majority of the season.

With the money difference between the Championship and league one these days, any team coming down from the Championship will have a bigger benefit than they would 10 years ago, so it will be 'less worse' than then. Especially for clubs with parachute payments!

I'm not sure how Bury will do as we are considerably better than when we got relegated a 2 years ago, but we haven't played any L1 sides this season.

We gave Bolton the run around before they got a 97th minute penalty in the first round of the Capital One cup, but that may have been a one of so not an indicator of quality.

There will be many teams with much bigger budgets than us, but we have a bit of ££ as well these days.

I'd like to think we could finish upper mid table if we keep our squad, but I have no idea about the quality of L1.

Wouldn't be surprised to see us struggle either.

If Wigan spend their money wisely they have the chance to piss the league same as Wolves did last season, I'm not so sure they will though.

"Worst L1 in years".

What happens each year is the best teams go up and the crap from the Championship comes down. L2 sends in its pick and sometimes they fare well, sometimes they don't. Every club that was here last year evolves for better or worse and the end result is invariably a competitive league that is difficult to get out of and difficult to stay in.

I beg to differ, Sir.

Most fans, including my best mates jump straight down my throat when I say I'd love Davies back.
The guy is the Mourinho of the Championship, pretty football majority of the time, but he will grind out a dirty, shitty, horrible 0-0 draw when he needs to.

Problem is if he was to replace Grayson if he ever left, we'd probably lose 1000 fans short term, and in the long run he's as much as a bottler as we are. Still reckon he'd absolutely piss this league. His record is class, never finished outside the top 6 when in charge for a full season.

I don't. You see, the leagues tend to have a natural equilibrium in terms of quality. Teams are where they deserve to be, even if historically they've not been this level. Who'd have thought Fleetwood would do so well? And Rochdale come to that when you look at their crowds. It will be a very nothern league, which is a pain for the southern sides in terms of travel, but to suggest the quality is going to be loads worse is not really fair on the teams involved IMO

I'd agree, I think Wigan will be mid table. Depends how much they try and spend as well, they have 1 season of PP? Going to be in a bad way if they spend big and fail to get promoted.

Atleast they have an experienced head running the club

At least they have a manager with experience of managing in the division....
How many games had Steve Cotterill managed in League One before you appointed him out of interest?

I fully expect to piss this league next season with Sam Winnall hitting 30+ goals along the way.

I actually hope he scores a hat-trick against us at Oakwell.

In a 4-3 win to us mind.

Needs to bulk up a little I think over the summer. He's had a very good first season for us 10+ goals.

P.s I was also in touching distance of him last Saturday
