We managed to lose at home to FC United.....

Not a lot needs to be said really
Having our own competition for most shambolic goal of the season to concede. Their winner today was comical

Only thing keeping Greene in the job is that we haven't had a chance to go out of the cup yet and that nobody else would do better with the shite he's signed
If you out the FA Cup to Kirby Mulxoe/ Leicster Road FC he should be fired on the spot after the whistle!

BTW fancy swapping FA Cup ties?.:lol:

Well I should delete my Stockport comment!

Can only go off the probs bias Curzon twitter but read like Curzon worked their socks off second half and created afew chances before equalizing with a 94 min pen. Great point away at a side I expect in top 5

Yep they did. First half was great end to end stuff with Town threatening a few times to put the game out of reach.

Second half we carried on our habit of utterly forgetting the first 45 mins and allowed Curzon far too many chances and possession in our half. the 4 Mins injury time was highly debateable as was the penalty award but given the shift in play it was a due result. Thought all in Curzon looked brighter than last season and should have no problems at all mid table and with the defence sorted maybe a push into the top 7. Another 2 points dropped at home in not seeing out a match and paints us as more play offs that title contenders at this rate. That said we have accumulated a number of injuries, with 3 maybe 4 starters out at present.

PS the Shake it all baby is a great song, tho sounds a tad Julian Clary in places ......you know you look so goooooood, look so gooooooooood.

The game was marred by our latest attempts to show that the little clown at MD knows feck all about actual football goers, not the make belief premier league families they are targeting but the ones who back them home and away, like a pint and ooooooh the decadence of smoking a cig in the outside. Prat. Love smoking at half time on a roadside in the rain.

I know DSL has posted this already in another thread, but Jim Harvey has been appointed Alty manager.

Come on Fax fans, give me a reason to be cheerful. He seems a popular choice on our forum, but so was Neil Young, and the churl in me thinks this is the guy who didn't keep Halifax up last season, when he looked to have managed it with a few games to go.

Sounds a decent appointment. Might come along tomorrow night to see what he can do in his first game.

Good appointment for Alty. Experienced at this level and was so close to keeping up a dreadful team put together by Aspin, not helped by Darren kelly, plus winning the fa trophy.

Only thing to worry about with Harvey is his ability in the transfer market. Otherwise a great manger of getting the best out of what he has at his disposal and a good tactical manager. The rest of your season will most likely be more enjoyable.

Ignoring the fact you're calling us "Fax"...

He could be just the man you need. By the time we broke free of relegation we never put daylight between ourselves and the drop, but overall we won a good 45% of our games under him. If you win within that percentage of games you'll obviously be safe and a bit. Whether he can do that with a slightly "more" semi-pro team is the question. He was always keen on getting us full-time, but we did have a few players with no job outside footie and we trained a few times a week where possible.

I want him to do well of course. We were more or less relegated when he took the helm already. With you lot, you've got an extra three months with him.

The appointment should be ok, the question will be just how deep the damage done in that 2 months was? Do you still have some better, but underperforming players at your club, or are they all just new.....bad players?

Can more come in after signing 2 a day for the last month?

Yep. Absolutely huge trip to struggling Worcester for us tonight. MUST come away with something preferably a win. Looking at our fixtures again with the season well underway our second half of the season is comfortably easier than the first. By the second week in January we would have played Salford,Flyde and Harrogate twice.

We have never ever lost away at Worcester in 7 visits. That must continue.

Very tough tonight for Curzon, but we're good away from home this season, I think we shock afew sides as we go away to attack (probs as we are 1 down by 10 minutes)

We can compete with the top sides, (ignoring kiddy) but only do that in clumps and sadly get punished hard in the spells other side have on top.....think kiddy, Harrogate, Salford and bpa scored 2 goals quick together, other fault is early goals...kiddy, bpa, darlo, Salford, Altrincham all scored very early in halves

On brights side once this is gone we have Kiddy, Darlo, Salford, Harrogate and Flyde out the way.

Local derby for us tonight. Should come away with a win but it's gonna be a close game with Telford not conceding or scoring many and us not conceding many. Probably another 1-0 win.

Thank you Ben and Pliny. The alliteration of "Fax fans" appealed to me.I imagine we are very part time, so we'll have to wait and see how that goes.

In answer to Big Dave, no-one is really sure about the extent of the chaos caused by Neil Young's recruitment. I'm not remotely ITK, but we know that two of his signings have officially gone. Another disappeared immediately after pre-season, only to resurface yesterday, claiming that his league registration paperwork was never completed (did no-one notice for a month? How tinpot is that?), but hopefully he's now available. There is the Portugese chap who was subbed after 17 minutes of his start, apparently because he didn't speak / understand English - he is, according to our forum, on a 4 month contract. There are a few loan players who appear to have disappeared after a game or two each; don't know if they are still here or not. Since NY left, Tim Deasy has come back, along with Danny Hall.

I hope Jim Harvey likes a challenge anyway.

Surprised you have taken Danny Hall from us considering our awful defence this season, but he may do better elsewhere.

Suppose one good thing at this level is your not tied to useless players on 3 year contracts on high wages.

Alty will be fine I reckon. They didn't look great on Saturday against us (neither did we for that matter) but by no means did they look the level of awfulness needed to threaten the relegation spots in this division. The Neil Young scorched earth approach to management means none of them probably have a clue what they're meant to be doing or who their team mates are. Now they have a manager who seems to be good at working with what he has rather than constantly changing things everything will settle down and Alty will get mid-table at least.

Ex Alty player, I was out of the game during that period however. I don't know if he'll do any better with our defence, which is leakier than Curzon's.

He's did alright in the transfer market for us, brought in 2 successive Conference golden boot winners on a far smaller budget then we've got now.

He's not one who tends to rush into signings though, would rather sign no one then get players he doesn't really want even if it leaves you short.

You're right but on a small budget he has complained in the past (us and Stalybridge) and his signings for us were all awful except for on loan keeper Sam johnson. He signed johnson, waide fairhurst and dino fazlic. I imagine at the time he took over you were full time Chris?

What happened with Dino Fazlic? I liked him here.

We were yes, it's very much the way Jim prefers to work. He likes to spend as much time as he can on the training ground, as his style of football needs a fair bit of coaching and he also likes developing younger players. Would imagine he'll try and add at least another training session per week at Alty if he can.

Unfit and lazy. Looked a tidy player on the ball though. We realeased him at the end of the season, don't know where he is now, might be a free agent.

That's kind of how I feel too. Harvey strikes me as a decent appointment.

I did start the season with a vague hope we might sneak 5th if the rebuilding project came together quicker than expected. Thats looks a very, very long shot now, but I've not given up hope of top half yet.

Entertaining game, both sides had a couple of chances to nick it, including one off the line for Chorley in the 17th minute of added time. I see that Worcester and Stalybridge won, so we are now second bottom.

Crap game, A ref who was decent but was scared to book anyone when Telford hacked us down. Their goal came from a deflection otherwise that game was a 0-0. We didn't create enough at all. We need a striker that knows how to shoot.

Agree with you Robin, good game, probably an OK result, thought we had won it deep in added time. If it's any consolation I thought you looked a better side than Tamworth who we beat away on Saturday, your overall fitness looks lacking. Our weak link was unsurprisingly Josh O'Keefe! Overall satisfied with a point.

Wish that were three points, but I'm still happy by the manner in which we shared the spoils.

Had we been 1–0 down at the Shay by half-time, record attendance being announced, to any team in this league at all, we wouldn't be best pleased. If we'd then been granted a penalty, a sending off for the opposition and an own goal, only to concede an equaliser in the final minute of added time, then we'd be livid.

Not the best performance but a more together display from the defence in some ways. Especially sweet to slightly disrupt all the non-league Disney going on across the segregation barriers. Salford is a home from home to me, but once they equalised and all they could think of was waving at us and grunting "TOP OF THE LEAGUE" and ironically cheering every move we made, I could separate the city from the City. When they got their winner (they effectively won because most of their fans had left the ground once the equaliser went in), one of them even got their morbidly obese infant to waddle up to us with his arms outstretched. Fuck that. When you know you visited Moor Lane before 90% of their current fanbase did, it's worth giving it back. A lad in my sixth form played for them back then!

Having already played half our games with the Bankrolled Three, it's now or never that we get some form going.
