Alfreton 1-1 Salford (Clayton 24, Walker 79)

Sigh. Same old same old second half. Decent first half. Played to our strengths first to everything and deservedly ahead. Surprise, surprise on the rare occasion we got it on the floor we found the net thanks to a stunning finish from Clayts.

Second half. Stopped doing what worked in the first half and just sat back and eventually the inevitable happened. Poor clearance from a combination of McGowan and new keeper etheridge, who for some unknown reason replaced Spiess who has been excellent and Walker volleyed in from inside the box.

Should have won really. Despite dominating much of the second half we looked largely untroubled and our keeper didnt have to make a single save other than the goal. Should be sat in 14th on 23 points. Inside its 18th and just two points between us and relegation. Its going to be a long winter I think.

As for Salford there were a fucking disgrace. Shocking lack of discipline on the pitch looking for an excuse for a fight. As for their managers they make Nicky Law look a gentleman. Never met two bigger wankers in my life. Johnson is a tosser. Think the TV cameras have got to their heads

There was a coming together between Kennedy and Mike Pheonix first half. Kennedy did well not to react and the ref who struggled to control proceedings decided to not brandish any yellows. Then in the 96th minute Clayton challenged their keeper for a 50-50 ball which he was more than entitled to go for and while he did catch Lynch it was not two footed as the Salford managers went ape shit about.

Apparently then Anthony Johnson and our assistant manager Russ Oneil got to blows in the tunnel. All very unsavory.

Pretty straightforward that. Alty were a shambles and I don't think had a shot on target all game. It could have been 5 or 6 quite easily. Easily more convincing than our win there at the beginning of the season. Lewis Montrose was incredible in midfield today. I'm not sure whether the constant attempts to chop him down were cynical or just Alty being rubbish. The attendance was just shy of 4000 - not to blow our own trumpet but that's pretty incredible for a club that has had sod all to cheer for a long time.

For Alty, when Clayton Macdonald is the man you bring on at half time to change things you know you're in trouble. We've come up him a few times in this division and every time he's been consistently the worst centre half I've seen at this level. And Gary Jones certainly isn't going to be the catalyst for change. He looked exactly what he is - a 39 year old struggling to keep up. Feel sorry for Alty as we've been in that freefall mode plenty of times over the last 15 years, getting screwed from every angle by shite managers, disinterested players and a clueless board. Kudos to the 400 odd that turned up today. Hope they stay up as they're a good club and there are plenty of other clubs in this division I'd rather see the back of. Ain't gonna happen though.

How are we 8th? :fl: That is the most damning of stats about the quality of this league. In fact its so shit half our fans want Heath out now, and said so loudly today, because they think even our shit team should be doing better than 8th. :bdick:

We didn't get beat. Scenes

1 win in 11 games though, still work to be done with BPA picking wins up more regularly behind us. Potential 6-pointers against Gainsborough x2, Curzon and BPA all in the next 6 weeks

Check out this twitter feed for some video of the abuse from the Salford management. Unacceptable. https://twitter.com/SmithJournalist

Makes me more convinced that their managers told their players against us to go in hard against us.

Have a look at the clip at 3:30 straight after half time while they were 1-0 down

This amazing BPA run has really made the relegation battle include almost 10 other sides when the bottom 3 looked finished......must be 5 wins in last 6 is it?

We have won 3 in a row now and still cannot feel comfortable. Boston on Tuesday then back to back vs Stalybridge is a period we need to finally get a gap on that bottom group.

BPA have won 5 in 7 losing to us and Stalybridge. But them and FCUM have played the most games in the division.

I'd say any team from Worcester down could be considered for the drop now.

Gloucester have gone right down toilet at the moment, not sure what has happened there.

Yes. It seemed very similar on Saturday. They soon got frustrated and totally lost their discipline at times. Particularly just after the goal.

Darlington's ground was passed by the FA yesterday, so after 4 and a half long years we're back home!

The ground has a capacity of 3,299 unsegregated.

With segregation I guess it's nearer 3,000, and 3,000 tickets have gone on sale, including 600 to Halifax. Segregation will be in place for this match

We want a sell out so don't let us down Halifax!

Good luck with the move home, it may be that big confidence boost that could launch you to promotion

Gloucester have gone right down toilet at the moment, not sure what has happened there.

We have had a ton of injuries, against Fylde we had a midfielder playing at centre back and 4 forwards on the pitch due to a lack of midfield. We absolutely battered them first 20 minutes, taking the lead after 2 minutes. But we committed suicide with some stupid passing between Singh in goal and the defence and gifted them a goal. Second half they took total control. We're playing well but without some positions being properly filled can't seem to hold on at the moment. Hopefully we'll have everyone back for Altrincham in a few weeks and start winning again. We have Brackley home and away before that and I'm not too sure on what kind of squad we'll have...

Nah owner and players love him, will stay till summer.

Trinity Chairman Kane backs Roma

"“I have been contacted by a one or two supporters who believe we should change the manager and even some of the players, but I can tell you that the manager will be staying here," said Kane."

:eye: Some of players have asked the chairman to sack him? Doesnt exactly bode well for morale?

I read that as some of the fans want rid of some of the players.

Yeah, as above - there's a difference between:
“I have been contacted by one or two supporters who believe we should change the manager and even some of the players"
“I have been contacted by one or two supporters and even some of the players, who believe we should change the manager "

Been away for a while. We've been consistent and hardly put a foot wrong. 2 huge games vs flyde to come and I think they are must win or draw games. 4 points would be brilliant. Sefton Gonzalez has gone and jack lynch has extended his loan at colne to the end of the season, waste of such a good young talent

If you could do us a favour and take some points of Fylde that'd be great.

Wow!
Big statement from us in the transfer market as we sign in form striker Adam Morgan from curzon. Got no clue how we've pipped him after interest from FL clubs. Could be brilliant playing off Denton, if Heath knows he's a striker, that is.
