We've got Halifax tonight. Couldn't care less about this to be honest. Small squad and would rather concentrate on the league

A cold Tuesday night away, at a ground we were at a week ago, for a fixture that has been cancelled twice before (the last time 25 minutes before kick-off), when everyone's skint from Christmas, we're just off the back of 5 games in 2 weeks, and it's a game that most Macc fans don't actually want us to win...what's NOT to like?!

20 away fans will be an acheivement, though Halifax fans will point out if they were in our position they'd have taken at least 25.

Don't bother getting your excuses in early, everyone already knows Macclesfield are Tin Pot. :bdick:

36 Macclesfield fans in a crowd of 503.

Halifax currently lead 1-0

Latest - Spennymoor 2-2 Gainsbrough

We would've brought at least 41 to Macclesfield.

Kidderminster away for us tomorrow. Safe to say Aggborough is not a ground which most County fans have fond memories.

Not sure how much regard the FA Trophy is held by both clubs. The league meeting on 3rd Feb will no doubt carry more spice.

Not fussed if we win this or lose it. Would rather we put all our efforts into getting out of the NLN.

That league game has been postponed as it is the day of the next round of the trophy. We both can't go out to play it. Think the game is now on the 6th March.

We've got a good record against you guys though. Won the last 4 games and conceded 1 in those. Dunno how serious we're taking this but I think our chairman said he wants a trophy run this year.

Feel so sorry for Wukky and Marine there. Getting all that way then having to go to Weston-night-Mare and Dover. At least Stourbridge get to visit the famous Billericay muriel.

We'll pick a full-strength team away at Brackley, and limp our way into a replay.

Ourselves and Stockport are the biggest two teams left :bdick:

I would like to win as it will keep our recent momentum going. But won't lose any sleep if we lose, which is likely even though Bogner have had a really poor season. Haringey pushed us in the last round, I see tomorrow being no different.

You might be saying that on the 20 May in the final, would be some match attendance wise at Wemblee!

Could be a tough one, I've seen Brackley on a few occasions. They are certainly no mugs especially on their own patch. I suppose depends on who wants to make progress the most in this competition. And It's a bloody long journey down to Brackley! Good luck!

Hopefully we put out a first choice xi tomorrow, I want a cup run and we're not exactly going to be troubling either end in the league so we may as well target Wembley.

I wouldn't mind a cup run either. The only downside if we do make it far then Tranmere, Hartlepool and Gateshead away will move to Tuesday nights!

Warrington will try to make it tough for us, but we should have enough. Didn't know Paul Carden managed them!

Well, we didn't make it easy in the second half but still won it 2-1. Feels good to win games!

Into the last 16, plenty of easier ties still available, if we get a good draw on Monday I think we have a real chance of going all the way.

Well, with that extra time win against a 10-man side in the relegation zone of the division below I can confidently predict that pissing this tinpot cup is written in the stars.

Still in the hat! Sounds like Warrington were unlucky to only draw. Surprised we had 911 there. About 100-200 more than we normally get for early stages of the FA Trophy!

When you lose 4-1 at home and the players leave the pitch to a standing ovation goes a long way to explaining what a terribly corrupt refereeing performance we were subjected today. Amongst the highlights.....
  • Booking Jake HIbbs for a dive even though he had just released the pass and had no need to dive. Ref was 40 yards away
  • Booking Danny Clarke for a clip on a Maidenhead player which whilst mis-timed, was deep into the opposition half and his first tackle. Two other similar challenges by Maidenhead on the same player after the ball was played went unpunished.
  • At 3-1 two players jump over Denton in the box and referee waves play on. Maidenhead go straight on the attack at the other end and get a (correctly awarded penalty of their own)
  • Booked four players first half (only Garners was genuine) which meant second half the Halifax players were on tip toes for fear of a card themselves.
That said some of our play was very average and could their no.7 actually shoot straight the score could've been worse by three or four more. Glad this seasons cup exploits are over. Squad isn't good enough or fit enough to be fighting in two fronts. It was obvious in our relegation year that half a dozen players were pulling out of challenges and putting less effort in for risk of ruling themselves out of the trophy final. If/when we get dragged into the battle at the bottom, we only have the league as our distraction. The trophy this season has been an absolute chore with the way it has paired us in two consecutive rounds against sides we were due to play in the league the following/previous weeks. Glad to see the back of it in 2017/2018.
