Salford managers gone. Hardly surprising seen as they weren't sure whether to keep them on for this season and also the amount of shithousery, including trying to have a fight with one of our fans on our car park. Classy.

Beevers and Preece stayed on? I'm assuming not, particularly Preece.
Extremely unlikely i would say

Heath confirmed. Delighted. Heath`s record speaks for itself. After the last two awful seasons I look forward to winning a fair share of matches and actually keeping clean sheets. Something that very much goes against the grain at Alfreton.

Massive signal of intent though and shows the club has a genuine appetite for success. Cannot wait for the new season.

Played for us before. Under Nicky Law in 2012. Barely featured though and was shipped out on loan to Worksop Town.
Heath also played for us in his playing career too.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
That is a very good appointment for Alfreton there as he does know this level well which is all that matters.

whether he'll have the impact he had at NFU or Halifax is hard to say as both have very big budgets for this level, gave him squads he wanted and plenty of good players for this level, but he should at least be able to attract a much better quality of player than alfreton have had the last few seasons and if Alfreton are now going to push a strong budget he has shown he knows exactly how to use it.

We have signed Russ Penn from Gateshead, exactly the player we have been missing a strong tackling holding midfield player.hope more signings like this excellent player in league for us till McNamara got his hands on him.he would of ruined salah.
Plus proves to me we will have a budget just need to stop in house fighting.
Very Good player Russ Penn. Would have liked him at County.

Also signed Jordan Burrows from Gateshead ,can’t comment on him although played a lot in league and conference because don’t think ever seen him play.
Press also says winger to follow today.
Didn’t have a clue about next season but obviously chairman is backing Gray with a good budget and he is getting his targets.

We've just sold Jimmy Ball to Stevenage for an undisclosed five-figure fee. It wasn't that long ago that I was saying he wasn't ready for the step up to the Conference National. If this is as accurate as my various other predictions you can expect him to be turning out for Barcelona in the near future.

Any truth to rumours that a new protest club in York named "AFC York" is going to be set up and join the Northern Counties East League at Step 6?

TheMinsterman
I’m a life trust member and first I’ve heard, utter bollocks a lot of fans want rid of chairman but most still go.
No grounds in York could hoist,i2i football academy own Tadcaster Albion and been trying to buy club for years so that wouldn’t be an option and only other ground close is Harrogate and that def isn’t an option either.

Just watched highlights Harrogate vs Chorley. Full back is late, but never a red card to me - player is just going for a bouncing ball. Playoffs mean the fate of a whole years work by a club can turn on a single contentious call, by refs whose standards are rather variable at this level..

Congrats to Harrogate and Brackley. Two fitting teams for the play off final. Good luck to both.

They're easily the 2nd and 3rd best teams in the league, there's quite a gap in quality between those 2 (+Salford) and the rest

Quite looking forward to Hereford joining us. I'd imagine they'd be our Boxing/New Years game which would be great for both clubs.

Me too, been a while since I've visited Edgar Street. Gunna be another tough season ahead that's for sure. Would that make Hereford your localish Derby match for the New Year period.

They always came across and had that certain look as a couple of thugs Bernard & Jonno!
Fair play to them when they traveled to Bishop/Darlo. They got absolutely tortured with abuse from some of our fan's.........how on earth they kept it together.

No doubt they'll go for a high profile manager just for the BBC?

We are announcing our new manager this afternoon. Billy Heath still very much frontrunner

Good call DSL! At least Heath will steady the good ship Alfreton. After McDermott & Moyses evacuated the ship. No doubt he might do a bit of cherry picking at his old club Halifax.

Could it be three times lucky for Mr Heath!

Not that I've heard personally, I would say that it is unlikely for the problems at the club to be resolved any time soon though. I'm back involved with the Trust, so I am limited in what I can and can't say again, I think it's fairly clear that in all of this there is only one "side" who isn't willing to work with the other. We certainly don't appear to be trimming our budget based on our signings so far and the fact the outgoings were mostly peripheral earners, not the big ones.

I guess the final season at Bootham Crescent will be eventful at least!

Have the bookies paid out on York to win the title next season yet?

With this squad they shouldn’t drop a point.

I'd hope so. Always looked forward to those games whenever we've come up against each other. Was actually quite disappointed when they had their issues and were forced to reform.

In other news Telford will announce a new manager tomorrow.

Time to go for John Eustace. Any manager could lead us to the play-offs with our budget and players.

He's implemented a nice style, but when the going gets tough, we choke...to teams like Chorley and BPA, both part-time outfits. In all due respect, we should be beating these teams in play-off eliminators on our own patch. Our away form has been mediocre, not good enough to get ourselves out of this league.
Our first half last week was absolutely embarrassing, way too cautious.

I won't be renewing my season ticket for as long as he's at the club.

Get's all pissy if you criticise him too, seen him go into meltdowns at Blyth/Tamworth/Boston and FC United last year (where my mate pretty much made the substitutions because JE felt guilty for reacting at half time).
Not one with thick-skin.

That ref was truly awful and should never be allowed to referee again. She missed a blatant handball from our centre back in the first half, then she spotted a handball that hit him on the chest! Terrible for both teams. After watching the highlights, the decisions look even worse.

Your having a laugh right? the ball is kicked away before the your player even lifts his leg for the kick. His studded foot hits him in the chest. It's a red card all day long.
Why can't Chorley fans accept that their own players let them down on the day?

There is a club being setup named AFC York as my Uncle is heading it up.

Gavin Cowan the new Manager at AFC Telford. Rumours Wolves have pulled out. Think they may struggle next season.
