York fans - How bad is Ben Clappison? We have signed him. Is he a McNamara signing?

Yes Clappison was one of the classic mcNamara signings. Hardly played. Went on loan to Boston and got released last month. Didn't really see much of him to comment but as neither MCNAMARA, Mills or Martin Gray rated him he could be half decent for you..

Boston away? Will the ghost of Reece THOMPSON strike again after last season at Bootham Crescent? Get a tenner on him for first goal and a yellow card for over celebrating in front of the away fans.

Unfortunately no game for us this coming Saturday, we should have been playing Curzon Ashton but some clown brought the game forward.

So we need an act of kindness this weekend from the likes of........Harrogate, Kiddy, Chorley and Tamworth to do us a good turn. Plz!!!

Did our job.

Gainsborough were awful, barely created any chances and how it was 0-0 at half time I'll never know. We missed 4-5 clear cut chances but couldn't put anything away. Gainsborough tried to change something by swapping their right back who as being turned inside out by Austin. Didn't help as we comfortably put 3 past them in the second half.

Joe Ironside is on fire at the moment, grabbing 4 in 4.

Also DarkSithLord What happened to Alfreton we were 6th for a bit before you guys started losing?

Was at the match today- can you explain why you lot hate him so much? Never seen anything like the 15 or so lads sprinting across the away end to throw abuse.

Today, when we got anywhere near Tamworth's penalty area, we were lethal. Unfortunately the rest of the time we were a danger to ourselves.

If we could get some centre halves who's first instinct is to get to the ball first, and second instinct is to put it as far up the pitch as possible, then we might be ok.

Where do I start mate?

Manager is absolutely clueless!! tactically naive, has signed some absolute horse shit and is awful in the transfer market.
The dressing room is toxic and their is a total disconnect betweeen manager and players. His position is untenable.

Missed today due to work. Another horrific display apparently. Doubt many will bother for the county cup on Tuesday (me included) and rightly so as despite serious managerial issues the players need to take responsibility for abject display after abject display.

At the moment we are careering to relegation.

Routine 3 points today, 2 goals just before half time though we should already gave been at least 2 up, disappointed we took our foot off and let Leamington come onto us in the second half. Didn't think they offered over much though they gave had a good run of form recently. Difficult run now with Kiddie, Gainsborough away and Salford away coming up.

Amazing how 45 minutes changes things up. I thought heading into Gym at half time today was like '3 points gained' for Curzon even though they were not playing as all results apart from Southport looked good, defeats on course for Boston, FCUM, Gainsborough, Leamington, and NFU/Nuneaton drawing.

then come out of gym and its been a right crap day.........what on earth went wrong with York and Harrogate losing what are on paper 'easy games'

turning into a right slog for the relegation places........title me thinks is wrapped up now for Salford sadly.

A mixed bag of results today some good and some not so good, as you say what happened at the likes of York and Harrogate who in theory should have been bankers?

Gonna be some relegation battle this season with at least 10 clubs getting dragged into the mix.
Especially us who are one of those clubs, we've got Salford on Saturday the 9th........would i be wrong in saying another defeat?

And then an absolutely massive game for us down at Gainsborough on the 23rd which is a must win for me, because our double header is against Harrogate. But are they beginning to wobble?

Yep, we can safely say goodbye Salford :£

Ex player. Taken from Frickey into the League. Wind up merchant. Scored for NF last season and celebrated like a twat in front of the Home Fans and booked for it.

However City are so bad and have dropped so far the fans have to have a go at someone!

If i were to be fair to Salford so far they have not yet grabbed the group of arrogant annoying glory fans yet......they seem to be ok so far and not getting on my nerves like some other bankrolled fanbases do, compared to say Spennymoor who seem to have some right arrogant fans they are quiet........it is weird because you read their forum and they feel most weeks they just scrape a win and have not fully looked that good all season, but they still keep winning, by hook or by crook and that is what will see them promoted, just seems to be no bad run in that side.

worried about Curzon, we had a good gap, but its closed right up, lost one of our key players to a rival and our team is so dependant on 2-3 players staying fit all season.....and hard because with so little money when a player out injured they seem our for months, i guess we just cannot afford to pay for medical stuff and have to wait for everything..

Having probs the best manager at this level gives us a good chance and certainly sides have bigger problems at moment, but not sure our side/squad has that depth of quality for a massive relegation scrap....next week at NFU is massive for us, cannot afford to flog what is really an 'easy 3 points' for most clubs.........but our horrific away form this season gives NFU a chance.

I personally think we're far too negative away this season, we had one of the best away forms last year because we went everywhere to have a go (mostly as our defence was horrific early on in season and had to) this year its been 5-3-2 tight and nick it and works fantastic at home, but shocking away.....we just dont score.

Seems the fans had had enough after the final whistle yesterday. Chorus of boos and some choice words dpoken. There has been a lot of patience shown but the second half yesterday took the biscuit. Rumour has it that Russ O`Neil is desperate to retrun to the club. Apparently he has linked up with Nicky at Burnley.

Id have him back but he is not a manager either. Having said that he will organise us better than the current shower of shite and will demand 100% graft and effort beacuse he loves the club. John just cannot motibvate them.

Right now at the moment we look a certainty to go down unfortunately without change sadly.

Hoping if yesterday wasnt the final straw then a defeat to Matlock on Tuesday in the County Cup which would it make it a hat trick of cup exits to lower league opposition will signal the end. We cannot go on as we are at the moment.

Agree re the relegation battle. Basically the whole the bottom of the half plus Tamworth are invovled. Going to be a battle royal.

So Nabil Shariff has mysteriously left 3 weeks after signing today and joined Southern Premier side St Neots Town.

not sure what to think. I see he is based in Milton Keynes? Is it the commute or has he had a bust up with John. Got a funny feeling it may be the latter. Still dont think we are a happy camp. Thought he did well on debut in a tough and high tempo game v Salford but hasnt had much of a look in at all since.

Hmm tag on this didn't seem to notify me, but I was vaguely aware.

Yeah he's based in MK, so it's probably partially a commute thing, not heard anything from our end that there may have been a bust up involved. Nabs is a relatively humble guy for a footballer, not someone you expect to have too many bust ups. In fact the information going around on our end was that it was effectively a loan and he is expected to go back to you after some time at St Neots (just our forum, so mixed reliability there). Got a goal on his debut there I see.

He was really out of form when you guys signed him from us, and was visibly lacking confidence, he's extremely streaky even for a forward, so I would guess you've probably just missed out on his best.

A little disappointed on leaving you that he didn't come back here, but we signed 2 forwards who are both working out well so far, and our other main forward Tom Lorraine seems to have upped his game recently to match too.

I would never have guessed it but Nabs moving on might have been for the best for us, though I would have loved to see Nabs playing with the new forwards we have. Right now though if he were available for selection for us he might be starting games from the bench...

Yeah St Neots have signed Nabil on dual registration but I am pretty confident that there is no chance of Nabil returning to play for the club to be honest. We are an a complete shambles at the moment and careering to relegation right now. The Shariff signing shows really our poor John is in the transfer market. Signing players not up to the level based off just one good performance against us.

Harrogate away tonight. Would gladly take a point but Harrogate have a keeper who we put 14 past in 3 games last season so hopefully we can have that sort of form against him again.

Also first trip up to Harrogate and I'm looking forward to it.

I think that's rather unfair on Nabs to be honest.

He's played conference level football with the old R&DFC in the past. He's played step 2 in the past, he's technically good, got good pace and is capable of becoming a good striker at step 2 potentially. It may take some time and some confidence, but he's probably capable.

I'm sure the difference in style between our teams didn't help the transition too.

I guess we'll see in a few weeks if he's scored a few more from St Neots I'm sure the management team at Alfreton will be under pressure to give him another try. Just don't try lumping it up to him, he's very much a ball to the feet/to run on to player.

We are at a bit of turning point now. That said the goal machine Ainge is back. 33 league goals this calendar year and two in two whilst finding his feet after 14 wks out. Beck needs time and made our play one dimensional against a more hungry FCUM. Lloyd Kerry our midfield maestro is also nearly back after a similar spell out.

However, the textbook good start to the season is unravelling into the usual patchy form in winter. From title contenders to playoff worries in just over a month and dumped out the fa cup at home to Trinity. That said Harries played some good, pacey counter attacking. One of the better sides to visit.

Yesterday also came the news that Joe Leesley has had a big offer made for him and would certainly explain his recent slump in form. Like Brendon Daniels all over again but at least that was at the end of the season.
It is an offer that would smash our wage structure should we try and match it. A league or national club full time club then, though it was described as a big offer 'for this level', so could also bring Salford and possibly York into the equation depending on how you interpret that.

Is so annoying as he only signed a new deal in spring and seems to have had his head turned. The irony of this is not lost on me given our own relative budget and signings.

Marcus Day BTW a very surprising loan. Can't think what he will bring an embattled manager. Too lightweight in stature and goals contribution and more suited to a division or two below.

Hope you enjoyed the trip. Shame it was a midweek and you could have enjoyed the area and town more.
Plans a foot to update the ground over the next few years which will make a great non league ground.
Hope the Aggborough redevelopment plans have not advanced, a true non league legendary ground.

Cox tried to sign him when he was at Barrow - could he be back in for him now he's at Guiseley? He's trying to build a squad of full-timers before January.

Actually spent the day Harrogate, it's lovely place did some Christmas shopping. Also, Harrogate is a great club, friendly people and staff. Really enjoyed the day. Even better when there's a decent game at the end of it.

You've got a decent setup, parking being one of the only issues but you've got some good foundations to work with.

Our plans are still with the council as far as I'm aware. Our chairman has said we'll hear when they hear.

Can't wait to get pumped 5-0 by Salford this weekend...

you won't

salford seem to not play that well, but do enough to get the wins......most of season their fans mention about not actually playing that well....but they keep digging the wins which end of day is all that matters

i'd expect you to lose by a goal.

Nah can't see it happening; we're are a shambles at the back and I fully expect them to hammer us.

If by some miracle we get something from the game, I'd be astounded.

It's a shame about your ground if It's still in the hands of the council, well regarding what plans they have in store for such a fantastic ground. I absolutely love visiting Aggborough stadium, great atmosphere and excellent facilities. I wish we could move in

Would make it feel better if he did go a division above but doubt they have the budget to pay a big transfer and also blow our current wage for him out the water as has been suggested the size of the offer as being.
More likely to be the gravy train at Salford unfortunately.
