Not at our best today, 3 out injured but still got the better of a mediocre Hampton outfit. Away to Whitehawk next Saturday and then a stiff test at home to St.Albans bank holiday Monday.

Surprised to see Bobby Wilkinson quit as Hungerford Town manager today after defeat at Welling. All not well there? Not done the required improvements for play offs?

So are we seeing the final days of this Whitehawk malarkey? Never got the chance to see what their followers are really like, or to see them disgrace themselves on national TV in an FA Cup run.

Wealdstone 0-2 Chelmsford City (Att: 908)

Hopeless from us yesterday, it's not an exaggeration to say Chelmsford should have had 7 or 8 with them hitting the woodwork three times and two shots cleared off the line. This is all GB's fault and he needs to go now before he is pushed.

Finally got 3 points, late winner from Joe Hanks (who could play this weekend, hurrah!). Some big decisions from Tim Harris. Sam Avery, usually one of our best performers, dropped. Right decision. And Alex Harris looks like he's binned as the new lad from Gillingham started (and looked assured). Wouldn't surprise me to see him loaned out somewhere, maybe back to Cinderford. Still no goals from our forward line mind you!

Hungerford at their gaff on Saturday, no manager but with Hopper back who scored at the weekend. Could go either way.

Not quite true however he has resigned after 22 years at the helm. I'm absolutely gutted it had to come this way but the dynamic just hasn't been working for a while now and unfortunately with Jimmy Gray coming in as another coach over the summer, from the outside it looked like too many cooks have spoiled the broth.

The man is a club legend who spent over half of his tenure managing a club hanging on by a thread, homeless and destitute. He now moves into a yet undefined role but it sounds like a director of football role, focusing on youth development and other areas within the club.

As for who takes over, Bobby Wilkinson resigned at Hungerford over the weekend and was supposedly seen in our boardroom with his assistant during our game vs. Havant last Monday. I've also been informed that a Hungerford fan on the Conny Sarf Fans Facebook group has stated he's taken the job here but this is all speculation for now.

Having turned 26 over the weekend, it seems strange and somewhat numbing going to Eastbourne on Saturday and not seeing GB in the dugout for the first time.

Thanks for the memories.

Coaching staff have all gone too - Steve Newing, Mickey Johnson, Scott McGleish and James Gray. Sounds to me like an appointment has already been made then.

There we are then, confirmed that Bobby Wilkinson is the new manager. I must admit I thought he'd be on his way to Torquay but it's a very sensible appointment.

Not a bad pick for Stones, taken a small unfashionable outfit as far as he could but ambitious to progress

Two wins on the bounce now. Dominated first half and deservedly went two up but conceded a really sloppy goal a matter of minutes after the second went in. Another example of us switching off.

Second half and we went 3-1 up, Parker getting his second and we're cruising. But we have this habit of sitting back and thinking the job was done, Hungerford made all three subs at once and the winger who came on caused us some bother and they get a second as we went to sleep again. Literally hung on at the end. Three points is all that matters but would say we need a bit more in midfield as last twenty minutes especially we got jizzed on. Hungerford is a funny place though, didn't see any fans wearing their replica shirts and no noise getting behind them. Everyone seemed to be Reading supporters who didn't wanna go to Birmingham!

Bath on Monday, haven't played them in the league for years.

Eastbourne Borough 1-1 Wealdstone (Att: 631)

Firstly, the M25 can do one. 4 hours to travel from Luton down to Eastbourne wasn't particularly pleasant. Thankfully the first game under the Bobby Wilkinson era was an encouraging one. Hit the woodwork three times (including a header from 6 yards in the 92nd minute which would have won it), had a shot cleared off the line and their keeper (who was voted MoM) pulled off two or three great saves.

The hosts took the lead just after the half hour mark when loanee centre half Aron Pollock (yeah he's useless Look Out There Are Llamas) got the ball caught underneath his feet and Nat Pinney played in Jamie Taylor to score.

Missed opportunities in the second half had me thinking we were going home empty handed but Eddie Oshodi leapt highest from a corner late on and scored with a thumping header. Great scenes behind the goal when that went in.

We were awesome today, hit the woodwork twice and their keeper made 2 unbelievable saves.
Keep this up and we will be there or thereabouts this season. Playoffs a real possibility.

Wealdstone 1-1 Hemel Hempstead Town (Att: 966)

Aimless hoofball once more from us at home, worryingly there's often a lack of communication which is where I think we're going to miss Sam Cox more than anywhere else. Hemel scored in the 2nd half after their player handled the ball and was offside but in fairness to them they did have more of the play and the better chances so I couldn't begrudge their lead.

We equalised very late from a free kick which the visitors couldn't deal with allowing Dan Fitchett to tap in at the back post from all of a yard.

Third win on the bounce for us with a 2-1 win over Bath who came into the game off the back of three straight wins themselves. Even opening with Bath probably shading the play but once we got infront we were comfortable for most of the game until they hit a late free kick. We were then defending for our lives again and made it a uneasy final few minutes. We have St Albans away Saturday so that should be a very tough test.

I see Jimmy Dack has resigned at Shitehawk.

Player Dan Harding, formerly of Southampton, Nottingham Forest, Eastleigh and a few others to take over.

Can we have Cundy back please? We need a CB and he was amazing in pre-season.

As expected after they were released earlier on this week, Matt Day and Luke Williams come in from Hungerford. Kaid Mohamed has also joined the club too and I believe he was at Weston last season.

For those who don't know, Matt Day is essentially the Conny Sarf equivalent to Steve McNulty. I can't say I know much about Luke Williams but I believe he had a stint at Hayes a few years back and Mohamed has become somewhat of a journeyman in recent years.

Conceded early but once we got used to Oxfords awful 3g pitch were deserved winners and should have won by more. Re their pitch, every time the ball bounced or was kicked lumps of black crap flew into the air. Anyone got an explanation for it or are they all like that in this league?
