Garry Birtles was never manager for us, mate. He did play for us in the late 80s/early 90s though, don't think he was there as late as '94 though which was 25 years ago. We went up with you in 90/91 though, which was my first season as a Town fan. Was us, Cambridge and Southend with you lot in the playoffs. Not sure of any scandal though, as I was only a nipper then. Maybe les.gtfc or someone might know?
