Bradley Jackson to Chester confirmed, comes in from Ashton Utd.

Most impressive opposition player I've seen this season.

I'm completely baffled as to why you've signed him. He was a trier for us but had no end product, and had one decent match for us that I can remember. He was playing as a wing-back for us a lot of the time which probably didn't do him any favours, as he seemed lacking in defensive ability.

He'll probably tear us apart over Christmas now!

Feel like shit this morning so watching us play shit as well would be too much. Will be listening in on the Radio.

If County score early it could get messy. This team how no guts or backbone at all.

Blyth were shit. And they scored 4. We were made to rue our missed chances *cough* carver *cough* after absolutely hammering them in the first half. 3rd for Blyth was a penalty where noone looked within 5 yards of him. No way are we going up without a goalscorer and desperately need Scott leather back.

You know who fired us to victory again.

Made hard work of it falling behind early through Telford's only chance in the first half. They were a bit better in the second half though even with ten men.

Alfreton 1-1 Stockport County

Well its a point and more than I expected but so I will take. Nagging feeling it should have been all three judging admittedly by our twitter

I still believe Stockport will not get out of this league with Jim Gannon in charge.

A frenetic afternoon that, and a fair enough result.

Darlington were impressive first half (helped by some shite defending), and should have scored a 4th.

We rather dragged ourselves back into the game, helped by Darlo's very odd triple substitution, including both full backs, who had been excellent.

I'd have taken a draw at 3-1 down, but it was slightly galling not to nick it. That said, Darlo had a golden chance to do the same. Our keeper had an absolute nightmare today.

I agree with your summary, however, I think the video will show that Alty's last minute winner was not offside ! That liner was awful, at least 3 times he didnt keep up with play and played us onside when our player was clearly off. If Darlo keep playing like that offensively they will be fine, their defence is leaky but what a good keeper, if we had him we would have won, ours was shite, he almost gifted Darlo at least 2 goals which somehow they contrived to miss..

While I have never rated Thompson, I thought he had looked solid in the games since his Edgeley Park horrorshow back in October.

Boy did he make up for it today though - the kicking as execrable as ever, and oh my word, the rushing! What goes through his mind I don't know. I wish we had Hinchliffe.

Not even Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could get us out of this league.

Pretty drab game with neither keeper making many saves. We started off well, but looked knackered after about 20 mins. I understand Gannon probably felt like his hands were tied as it would look daft making changes to a side that won 6-0 on Tuesday. However, with so many games coming up he might have done well to rest a couple of players. No surprise that we looked a lot better once we'd made our substitutions. Overall a draw was probably a fair result.

Superb afternoon entertainment wise a cracking game of football, considering their was a pitch inspection early doors, great work by the groundsman. I thought this match was a game of two halves especially us in the first half, we played some excellent football.

Kokolo was just edging man of the match from a whole host of players that were on their game in the first half. Probably witnessed goal of the season from Jordan Nicholson what a beauty, and two other good goals from Elliott and Saunders. It's a shame Palmer (who was really good) couldn't put his chance away with just the keeper to beat. I think if we'd have hung on to that 3-1 lead just before half-time we maybe just might have won? and regrouped for the second half. But once again the same old defensive errors came back to haunt us.

I haven't got a clue what TW & AW say in the dressing room at half-time? But the amount of times I've seen the players come out and play totally different is a mystery.

Alty took the game by the scruff of the neck in the second half and it was just one way traffic, barely witnessed any excitement kicking towards the Darlo fans in the second half, other than Saunders unlucky header (damn why didn't it hit the post) went just inches wide.

I couldn't understand the 3 substitutions all at the same time, especially when they were outstanding on the day, other than maybe carrying a knock. I know Trotman was down?

Okay we were 3-1 up at one stage but overall it was a decent point against a very good Altrincham side who'll most likely be there or thereabouts come next spring.

As for the disallowed goal I'm not too sure on that one from a distance? Totally agree with the Alty fans the officials were a joke.

Asante and Dudley what a formidable partnership. Both on loan as well, are they getting snapped up for good when their loan agreement comes to an end.

They’re a great partnership, Dudley doesn’t get many headlines but he’s a quality player IMO. The sort who could comfortably make a step up without much fuss.

Tamworth’s manager let slip in the week that we’ve agreed personal terms with Asante, it’s just negotiating the nominal fee with them now. Dudley is on loan until the end of the season and there is a clause in it that means they can’t recall him. He’ll be a free agent in the summer but all we can do is hope that he feels that he‘s on to a good thing with us?

Anyway, good point for you guys today away from home? Was hoping you would hang on for three points though!

I think it was flagged offside. Someone on our forum said it wasn't offside, but that it was actually handball, so swings and roundabouts etc.

Dominate the game for 96 of the 97 minutes played and have to rely on a last minute equaliser. Curzon have a great keeper. Rushes out quickly and puts the strikers under immediate pressure forcing them to shoot quicker.

They came with a game plan not to lose and it worked. We need to improve quickly.

Yes, just seen the highlights and he did look offside.

Yeah got to agree he looked like he ran offside expecting the through ball. Great game to watch for the neutral, rather frustrating for us given our need for points in our current position. Nicholsons goal looks even better on the highlights.

Thought Alty played some nice football, not sure if they always play like that or they knew we were coming cause your wide players caused havoc in behind our wing backs. 3 similar goals conceded which is disappointing if not unexpected for us. Think you'll cause lots of teams problems playing like that and the addition of Hemmings looks a good signing he tortured us.

Add to that it was my first visit to Moss Lane. What a great little ground it is. Credit to Alty fans As Well, the noisy ones congregated together well and made some good noise.

On to York on boxing day wondering how many goals we'll have to score to win a game of football.

Entertaining game between Leamington & FC United of Manchester on Saturday. Twice FC pegged Leamington back but chances missed by Brakes in the 2nd half left them disappointed to not take all three points.

FC United fans generated such a great atmosphere at the game too, always enjoy it when they come to town!

Last night was pretty much what I expected the Conference North to be like when we first dropped into part-time regional football six years ago, until it quickly became apparent that Stockport County's ability to serve up failure transcends time, space and division.

Ashton may have been awful, but we've come across plenty of awful sides in recent years and have still managed to make hard work of it, so it was pleasing to see us put in a properly clinical, effective and professional performance. However, smashing teams like Ashton makes it even more frustrating when we draw against the likes of Nuneaton and Hereford at home.

Hopefully we can use this result to build some momentum. It feels like our impressive results are now beginning to outnumber our disappointing ones. Hopefully the accepted wisdom that Gannon teams improve in the second half of the season is beginning to transpire (and we haven't left it too late).
I still have the programme from your first game. Which went well!
Came across as if you just had to turn up to win everything
The league back then and the league now with the stature of some of the clubs in it has changed considerably. A lot more money being thrown around now too

I agree with you there, scoring 3 and not winning is a bit of a nightmare. Alty have been playing like that since last season (with obvious variations in quality and effectiveness). Phil Parkinson seems to like his wingers, which is good to watch.

Hemmings is a very exciting player, I'd love to keep him for longer.

Ashley Hemmings is very gifted with great balance, just floats around all over the place. A joy to watch.

We were very fortunate i thought, especially with the officials in this league they are absolutely atrocious. It could have just as easily gone the other way.

Bloody hell BigDave that's awful. There seems to be lots of initiatives this year to help homeless people primarily because the government do fuck all. It could do without complete twats doing this. Best of luck and I hope it can get sorted.

Southport 3-0 Chester.

First home league win in 9 months, and it was so easy. The fog almost tried to spoil it, but we just did what we do and Chester rarely threatened. Can't figure out why they are so high in the table compared to how useful both Chorley and BPA looked against us. Blame Jon McCarthy though, it's all his fault.

Watch us get turned over at home to Alfreton then away at Chester now.

Also, good luck to Curzon Ashton, a good club who don't derserve the circumstances they've been dealt.
