Denton and Peniket is a cracking front two at this level, Peniket probably spent more time on the wing than he'd have liked for us but he's playing a level below his ability in the North.
Yes. On the whole liking the look of who Billy has brought in. Proven at this level and people Billy can rrely on and trusts. Think we are looking in a better place then the last couple of years certainly

DSL do reckon you'll actually sign someone who hasn't played for Heath before?

Short answer - no. The only ones who havent played for him before will be those we have retained from last season (Luke Shiels,Tom Platt,Cieron Keane and Craig Disley)

I hope he does find others, after all he found this lot in the first place. That being said there's nowt wrong with bringing someone like Hotte on board. Anyone in your league would do well with him I'm sure.

I don’t know about hated, but he was terrible and one of our worst since we’ve been down here. Basically, if goalkeeping was all about your ability with your feet and throwing the ball out, he would be playing for Barcelona. He looks tiny in goal, he’s very unconvincing from crosses and isn’t that great at stopping regular shots. He’s the Claudio Bravo of non league.

Pretty simple that if you get crosses into the box for Ainge he'll score goals, he's a complete roughhouse centre forward. Seeing as we were too scared to cross the halfway line most games he didn't really have much of a chance to do anything. He was thrown on for nuisance factor at the end of games basically.

Roughhouse centre forward, I like the sound of that. We already have Styche who is a complete menace as well.

It's not quite Styche and Ainge though.

A thousand goals next season for Darlo me thinks.

Another one of those dodgy transfer rumour accounts have popped up on Twitter.

It says we have already signed Nathan Arnold. We are interested in Reece Thompson and former Ryan Jennings is close to reuniting with John Flanagan at Curzon.

I read yesterday somewhere that Arnold has signed for Boston.

Our first signing is Jordan Keane who was captain and seemed to have a very good season at Boston picking up all the awards al - he also scores a few headed goals from set pieces which is something we haven’t had forever.

Our official website is describing him as a defensive midfielder who can also play centre back though I’ve seen him described as a defender elsewhere.

Any views from the Boston Fans/Darksithlord would be gratefully received.
.

So, following on from the departure of “Players’ Player-Of-The-Year” Jordan Keane to Stockport County, we have now seen our “Supporters-Player-Of-The-Year” Ashley Hemmings leave for Salford City.

We still await the decision of a couple others who have been offered new deals but, over the weekend, two new arrivals have been announced:-

Nathan Arnold from Lincoln City
Ben Middleton from Harrogate Town

Middleton is not, however, exactly ‘new’, as he had two successful loan spells in the season just ended and performed very well in defence, particularly in the right back position.

To give a little further insight to County fans on Keane – he was brought in last summer by then manager Adam Murray but – like so many in the first half of the season – was nothing more than pretty ordinary playing in a defensive midfield role. When Craig Elliott took over from Murray it was somewhat of a different story though. Keane was appointed captain and played in central defence, and showed he was a much much better player there than he had been in midfield.

Whilst not in the class of one of our fairly recent central defenders Carl Piergianni, or one from a few years ago Shaun Pearson, Jordan could still have further improvement to make - especially if paired with an older experienced central defender. Not sure at this stage, though, whether he would be an automatic first choice if County are trying to put together a Championship winning side.

If it clicks, you will have the best strike force in the league. 2 strikers that should be playing in the National.

I'll never get my head around Simon Ainge being described as a centre forward. :fl:. He is the brickiest shithouse of centre halves, and is superb in that position. As a striker, while he undoubtedly scored goals against the pub team teams in Conference North, it was still like watching Aguerro in ultra slow motion. :fl:

Nah, Styche has repeatedly shown he's out of his depth in the National. I assume he hasn't fallen out with everybody at Darlington yet?

Not at all, the fans love him. Management rate him highly after playing together at FGR.

Works for both parties. He'll bag 25 easy next season. We must have the cuntiest strike-force going.

Styche's best moment for Harriers was when he was playing for Macclesfield. Got subbed off after 26 minutes for one of the worst displays I've seen. He played a big part in us being 3-0 at that point. To me, I think he's found his level.

He can be a lazy shite at times, but by heck he's scored some cracking goals for us.
For me the majority of the player's at our club's in this league have reached their level, and that's probably why they are playing in the NLN?

I wouldn't go as far as to say he's completely as you say out of his depth. He gets plenty of support from us fans on the terraces, and for all it's worth he absolutely milks it.

He'll score for fun this season with a partner in crime alongside him.

Not quite yet, but it's early days in his honeymoon period.

Guiseley show the door to 14 as overhaul gathers pace, jesus that's some total, they must of had a huge squad of player's to trim down from last season's relegation.

They did have Cox in charge of them for part of it. Moreover, when a team does badly over the course of a season they tend to accumulate more and more players in the hope that a new combination will click.

Thanks for the extra info re Jordan Keane. It'll be interesting to see where Gannon uses him as defensive midfield is a position we need to improve from last season. With Smalley being retained and a deal fro Ash Palmer from Guiseley supposedly done you'd expect Keane to be used as a DM. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Another one goes from Glos to the Bulls. Hereford have signed Lewis Hall from us. Very similar to Keiran Thomas, a player who was consistently one of our better ones who had a very poor season last year by their standards.
