to be honest would rather have muggleton any day than Burn,it’s when manager starts to get him to take every throw in ,when you start to worry.

Poor lad got stretchered off today with a suspected broken leg, as for Burn i don't think we'll see him anymore. Thank god he's horrendous.

Asante keeps up his record of scoring in every league game he's featured in. 7 goals in 5 appearances for him. Thought Dudley was class today, such an elegant footballer.
~~ and he's only 22. Great player. What annoys me is that we have been playing him in midfield and he's wasted there. I'm also excited about how good Marsh-Hughes is going to be.

No idea how Daz didn't get MOTM. Certainly don't know how Baines got it - gave away a silly free kick for one goal and arguably a needless corner for the other. If MOTM was given at the end of the game Hinchliffe probably should have got it for that save - celebrated like a goal.
Baines is becoming a bit of a worry, he could (should?) have given away a penalty last week 'n all. But aside from those incidents he's playing very well indeed, if he could eliminate those rash choices from his game he could go on to be a good League player. I also thought maybe Walker and Minihan were in with a shout of MOTM, two more unsung heroes of the game. Not Hinchliffe though - for the first time since Christmas his kicking has gone wayward again

Definite penalty for me last week! Will beat him to the ball and was then tripped as Baines went to kick the ball that was no longer there. Abysmal decision by the ref. About on a par with the shirt pulling penalty awarded against us at Fcum yesterday. Both teams doing it at every corner yet he only gives one penalty in the whole game. Either give them all or give none. Speechless.

No argument from me. I was directly infront of it and it was a penalty all day long.

Update from the injuries to Muggleton and Galbraith during the game on Saturday.

Sam Muggleton and Terry Galbraith were both taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital for treatment after sustaining injuries during Saturday’s home game with Southport. Sam has sustained two injuries, a partial fracture of his femur, and knee ligament damage caused by a dislocation. He will be having a further scan on Monday to assess the extent of the damage.

Galbraith came off with concussion and will be out for atleast a week under the new regulations. Best wishes to Sam Muggleton he had made a great start with us and the injury sounds awful.

Some thoughts after watching it again -

- Duxbury very lucky to have stayed on after that early foul, if that happened against us I'd be howling for a red
- Don't think it was a foul for the FK which gave us our second. Very well taken by Warby though. 'Keeper should've had a stronger hand on it
- Again a silly foul by Baines leading to Telford's second; absolutely shocking job done by the wall. Both Turnbull and Stephenson turn inside, making a big hole for the ball to go through.
- Missed it at the time but that looks like a handball by that Aldi Joe Allen.

However all the above is making the result sound more lucky than it was, on the balance of play County were well on top, and it's a good recovery from that poor display at Guiseley last week.

Awful game on Saturday versus Southport. Hope Southport player (on loan from Bolton?) is embarrassed about his behaviour following Muggleton's injury when he dislocated his knee and broke his leg. Spitting abuse at a clearly seriously injured player, when no foul was involved either way, left a nasty taste in the mouth. He'll have to hope Karma doesn't exist.

To be fair, Wood won the ball and Muggleton followed through on him (even though is was a genuine attempt to play the ball). The instant reaction of anger from Wood, whilst being far from commendable, is understandable, especially given the context of a niggly physical match that was poorly managed by the referee. He wouldn't have known in those first couple of seconds that Muggleton was severely injured either.

I hope the lad recovers well enough to resume playing again, I wish him well.

You know you've hit the big time when you get a 24 second slot on BBC East Midlands Today.
Not quite but we really struggle for recognition and coverage. So its good to see us recongised! Even to the point where the presenters actually said "Isnt it nice to mention Alfreton Town for once!"

Broken Femur, and torn his ACL, PCL and LCL. Be a long way back, if he indeed ever makes it.
Wood won the ball as Muggleton was about to shoot. Think he would realise that, but first reaction everytime nowadays is to scream for a foul, card.

Big game down at EP tonight with Southport coming to town. Southport certainly seem to have improved of late (turning over Chorley only 10 days ago) so this is far from a home banker.

A deserved win against Telford on Saturday coupled with Chorley's defeat at Alfreton means we can go level on points with Chorley tonight (albeit they'll have a game in hand) which will really put the pressure on!

One can only assume Southport will be the usual Liam Watson kinda team. Big, direct and willing to kick anyone so 3 points and no injuries will be the best scenario!

Would love to go but seems I have to give this one a miss:sad:

Dimaio's gone on loan to Ashton, great deal for both clubs. A quality player no doubt but he won't get in ahead of Walker/Keane/Turnbull/Osborne on current form. Walker's similar move to Curzon last year did wonders for him so there's still room for him in our future

Bloody hell, I doubt he'll play again. One of our players (Kevin Lee) had a similar injury a few years ago and unfortunately never kicked a ball again. Watching the video of it I thought it would be as bad but hoped it wouldn't.

Stockport coming from 2-0 down winning 3-2. Form of champions, while we are seeming to falter. Got to win our next 4.

That run in you have is horrendous at an already nervy time of the season, definitely need to be going in to the final month ahead and probably by a few points at least if you're going to do it.

I still feel that we can win every home game remaining, it's just the away games like alty, spendymore and Chester that I can see us struggling with

When we went 2-0 down I still felt confident that we'd get something from the game. When we nicked a goal before half time I was confident we were going to win. I'm not sure I've felt like that since our promotion winning 2007/08 season.

Oh, and I can't imagine what it must be like watching your expensively assembled side revert to kicking drop balls out for throw-ins. All for the glory of scraping together enough points to hit the dizzying heights of mid-table in the Conference North.

I watched this years Conf north champions play last night, Spendymore. They were extremely well organised and clinical scoring 2 from 2 chances. We are suffering from injuries, suspension and a general loss of form I'm afraid :(
