Middlesbrough and Everton are leading the chase for our centre-half Josh Heaton, according to The Daily Mail. The interest has arisen following Josh Heaton's appearance in Jamie Vardy's V9 academy trials.

The week-long event held at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium gave non-league players the chance to perform in front of league scouts. He was an impressive figure in defence at the V9 showcase, and he even attracted the attention of Everton and Middlesbrough scouts.

He'll be difficult to replace from what I've seen of him at the home and away matches throughout last season.

Absolute top signing my money is on you,Chambers is miles to good for this league.

http://www.harriers.co.uk/news/2018/06/12/harriers-sign-ashley-chambers/

Think it's still too early to confidently say who will win the league teams still have a lot of business to do. But think the league could be quite close between a lot of teams this year.

Brilliant signing that like, I think we were after him at one stage but he said he suffered from travel sickness :dk:

Heard York were in for him as well but travelling was the issue as well.

Yes true, heard this a month ago from a reliable source.family settled in Leicester though even though he wanted to come back.
Kiddie for me were best footballing team last year but toothless up front, this has changed.
Top bloke and player will always get good reception at York.

Last season we only really had Sonupe and Ironside that you could count on scoring. Bradley missed most of the season but hit some form when it was too late. Sonupe was far too inconsistent he got 15 goals but some game would be absent and when he went absent Ironside would lack any service. Like you said hopefully with an inform Bradley, Chambers, Ironside and Sonupe we should be more clinical.

I have a Question - For anybody who attended the National League AGM was it confirmed how many teams are to be relegated from the North/South this season? I was under the impression it was still 3. However checking Wikipedia (Reliable source I know) it shows 4? Can anyone clear this up?

We have also signed striker Macaulay Langstaff from Gateshead, might be ok be why we need another striker is quiet puzzling got 5 surely behind Parkin,Burrows and Wright and Kempster.
We are crying out for an physical centre half and central midfielder before I start to be happy about squad.

At the moment signed
Kallum Griffiths from Spennymoor
Tom Allen from Alfreton
Jake Wright from Harrogate
Russ Penn,Jordan Burrows,Wes York & Macaulay Longstaff from Gateshead.

Only Louis Almond turned a contract down and left.
Squad is massive knackered if don’t get rid of some players on long contracts,

Errrr that's gone well Manny Sonupe has joined Stevenage for an undisclosed fee. Ryan Johnson joins us on loan for 6 months as part of the deal

Aaron Williams gone. Best striker Brackley ever had. Can't blame him - but we only had 1 good striker last year and a bunch of makeweights. Now he's left - Kevin needs to pull out a couple of gems from somewhere... we always seem to end up with not enough cover anywhere, and then 6 strikers, nearly all who aren't quite good enough.

He'll do well at Harrogate if he's given a chance - but he needs games to build his confidence.

Another one out the door for Nuneaton Kelvin Langmead has joined Harrogate. Struggling to see how they are going to put a team together for next season.

word on the not very reliable hfc grapevine is you will be signing john mills from us,being able to offer a higher level than salisbury.my only doubt over mills would be his never having played higher than southern prem, but 140 goals in 3 seasons cant be bad no matter the standard.

Apparently they have 6 players signed on for next season, in a right mess.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Nuneaton will be next years NFU bar some astute management.

They will re-build a team that is not tough in lower leagues, the problem for them like NFU had last season is trying to rebuild an entire side on a small budget........when paying low wages you always end up with as many complete duffers as ok players.

works fine with Curzon because we have about 7 solid players so may find 2 decent and 2 bad to complete the 11 and then have a competitive 11, but little back-up.....plus of course our manager is scouting for these gaps for the whole season.

They on other hand just have to gamble on a huge glut of new cheap players, unless their manager has a superb eye for cheap talent it will be tough because their scouting over the season has been for a different cost level of player.

FCUM have the same problem, and it could work badly for them, the one hope they have is their manager was in place a while and probably knew what was coming early on.

Still i am expecting FCUM and Nuneaton to be two of the bottom 3 (or 4 who knows!!) and then others are harder to pick.....Ashton United looking a good bet at present to go back down as their best players seem to be all leaving currently

So it seems Jason Oswell is expected to join Chester. In my opinion, his all round game is often found wanting but his goal return was not to be sniffed at so it's something we're going to have to replace.

Be interesting to see how he does with Johnson and Morley. Oswell certainly likes the battle he gets from defenders (which at sometimes leads him to be to interested in battling and not paying attention to the ball!) so the long ball game Johnson and Morley tend to play will likely suit his style.

His main attribute though is his finishing in the 6 yard box. More so with his head than his feet but he's probably the best natural finisher we've had since Kristian Dennis.

Good luck to him, except against us obviously!

I’m really not worried about this one at all.

He only scores from crosses and his all round game isn’t great.

Bet he doesn’t get anymore than 15 for Chester.

Shame to see him go, but as the second half of the season showed, Oswell was far from the finished product. Always thought another season developing at EP could've seen him earn a move to a League side.

Good luck to him though, don't begrudge him anything.

Local to us is Oswell, certainly works in Chester anyway.

If it happens I think it'll mean we'll be more willing to listen to offers for Archer, rejected two so far. Would ideally like to keep although him and Oswell possibly wouldn't work well together, sound similar types.

Still trying to offload Hannah as well.

What are your wingers like? Oswell will do well if you can get the ball into the six yard box consistently

Meanwhile, looks as if Boston have signed Jordan Gough from ourselves.

Decent left back at this level, won this league before with Solihull.

Well Nuneaton have sign a player on a two year deal :shut:

And have announced their new manager as Nicky Eaden - https://www.thenonleaguefootballpaper.com/latest-news/23089/nuneaton-appoint-nicky-eaden-as-manager/

It is a good signing tbf. He could've done a job for any team at this level.

I know it's early days, but i can't believe you guys are 12/1 with Bet Victor. I think you'll either win this league or thereabouts, or deffo nailed on for a top 3 finish.

Tbf I don't think betting companies take too much interest in this level. Guess they saw we finished 4th but a few points of 3rd last season so just stuck us down at the same level as the teams coming down. Surprised Hereford are 8/1. Can't see them going straight up again.

But in terms of us next season I'm feeling a lot more confident especially after the Chambers signing and think as you said we'll be up there in the top 3 at least. Heard we have another signing lined up, will probably be Ed Williams of Gloucester to replace Sonupe.
