Fair result at Bath today, both sides had minimal shots on target but given the numbers, I thought we were superb. You wouldn't have thought it was 3rd vs. 8th however...

Great day out at Bath as usual, best away day by a country mile!

Drew 1-1 at Evesham against Welling on Sat. Fair result in the end as they hammered us last 20 minutes but we should have been out of sight in the first half. Again, the lack of a proper goalscorer costing us.

Horribly close now, just 1 point between us and Hungerford.

It's getting very tight down there, with the early strugglers picking up points and a few additional teams getting sucked in.

Dulwich haven't won away since October and this week we visit Oxford City who've lost their last 6 at home, so one of those sequences must end. I think we'll be OK with our recent home form and big crowds (10 points from the last four matches at Champion Hill) but I don't want to tempt fate after last week's chaotic 3-2 win against Truro.

I fancied East Thurrock to pull themselves clear after looking at their recent form and remaining fixtures, then they lost at home to Oxford.

Surely Weston-super-Mare have left it too late but Hungerford seem to be making a fight of it. Eastbourne Borough look very vulnerable without a win since early January and just 4 points from their last ten matches.

Mark McGhee still has the magic (sic) I see..

He very nearly ruined our football club single handed.
That wasn't enough of a warning to our chairman before he appointed him as our manager. Apparently McGhee was doing the club a favour but in reality he couldn't be arsed to make a proper job of it and just pissed everyone off.

Kieran Glynn is a strong signing for Woking on loan from Salford until the end of the season.

Interesting contrast in management styles at the top of the NLS. I think we have only signed five players since the start of the season (3 loans & 2 permanent) whereas Woking seem to sign someone new almost on a weekly basis.

Seems to be working out alright for them but surely it's a struggle to get any kind of team spirit with such a turnover of players?

I guess Johnson is accustomed to managing at a higher level where you only really trade players in the summer with a bit of tinkering in the January window, whereas Dowson has mostly managed smaller clubs where non-contract players come and go at any time of the season before the transfer deadline, which I think must be the end of next week.

1-0 win over Chippenham today which we made real hard work of, not least because we completely overwhelmed them in the first half and should have been at least 3 goals to the good.

Puts us one point outside the top 7 (cheers Hungerford) ahead of the trip to Torquay next Saturday.

Disastrous performance from Dulwich, 4-0 down by half time away to an Oxford City side that had lost its last 6 at home. To make matters worse Hungerford scored twice after the 87th minute to win at Billericay and reduce our lead over the bottom three from 7 points to 4.

Massive second half performance by us down at St Albans. First half Noel-Williams skied an open net from 5 yards out at nil nil, unbelievable miss and then not long after St Albans go up the other end and score. Thought that was us doomed tbh.

But we took the game a lot more to them in the last 45 minutes and whilst they looked good going forwards they seemed fragile at the back and we took advantage of that. Hungerford's 94th minute winner took the shine off the win a tad but we have Truro and Eastbourne (both away, where we play better) to come. Just hope we don't need a result at Woking on the last game of the season!

That’s been the main problem this season - we’ve gone through nearly 40 players.

We’ve had the same back 4 for 90% of our games but keep signing midfielders every week. Our manager says it’s because the better loan players have left and needed replacing but that’s what happens with short term loans. He’s only signed 1 good winger out of the 6/7 he’s tried.

Dowson does have a track record for getting through players, even at K's and Hampton where he's been very successful.

We’ve signed two more players today as well. And yep - two more midfielders.

Important result for us today with Woking dropping a couple of points.

Wealdstone were the best visiting side I've seen at Plainmoor this season, if they can get into the play-offs I reckon they are a good shout to win them. Likely to be away in every game but they are seemingly better on the road than at home.

Decent away following for once as well, and they made plenty of noise.

Now onto another big game on Tuesday with our game in hand against Chelmsford which should be another tough one.

Interestingly that's what a couple of older Torquay supporters said to me outside of the ground too. You guys will go up and well deserved.

Really good game for the neutral that was, we didn't park the bus and certainly gave it a real go. Interesting to see Bobby switch it up front with Dave Pratt on the bench and Jeff Monakana getting a start, low and behold he caused the Torquay defenders problems like he has done every team this season but for some perverse reason he's not been given anywhere near enough playing time.

When Rhys Tyler gave the penalty away just after the 3rd goal I thought we were going to get a hiding which wouldn't have been deserved, however Northy's second penalty save against the Gulls this season and a Jerome Okimo header a couple of minutes later meant it was squeaky bum time for the home side.

Great weather down the English Riviera too, got to have a few drinks in town as well as the Boots and Laces pre-match (the latter has an uncanny resemblance to our clubhouse) but it's just a shame that I wasn't down there last night, it sounded like great fun.

We're now on the outside looking in on the play-offs but I'm hoping Billericay, Concord and Dartford slip up between now and April 27th.

Cracking couple of days away and endorse what Aberstone says. Whilst we gave it a go, the lack of a forward ensures that we are always likely to come up short. Swap the Torquay front men for ours and we’d be comfortably ensconced in the play offs.

Weather fab, Babbacombe much better than Torquay which was a little like the badlands when the darkness descended or am I just showing my age?

Glad you enjoyed your trip to the 'Bay. By all accounts you were one of the better teams to visit Plainmoor for a while, and certainly the most vociferous.... Good luck when you thrash Woking in the play-off final .....

@Pinner.... Babbacombe is IN Torquay

Big game tonight - some will say the most important of the season (so far) - Chelmsford visit Plainmoor for a rearranged fixture... A win will put us 7pts clear of Woking who we face on Saturday. A win at Kingfield would give us one hand on the title and only a cock-up of monumental proportions would see us fail to win our first-ever promotion as champions in living memory (we won something like the Southern League back in 1927 but, despite the average age of United supporters, I doubt there are many around that can remember it).

COYY!

Crazy weekend of results, we lost in the last few minutes to Welling in a dire game and performance where we once again attempted to hold out for a goalless draw. But Hungerford and East Thurrock all won against the odds which piles the pressure on. Massive game at Eastbourne this weekend, one we cannot afford to lose!!!
