First half Wycombe didn’t look up for it, but improved a lot after the break. Mixed bag of a performance from Tranmere with some good passages of play interspersed with some poor decision making, most notably Scott Davies howler which led to the 1st goal.

I think today's game emphasised our improvement since the opening weeks of the season. For long periods I thought we played better football than a high-flying Wycombe side, whereas on the opening day we were comprehensively outplayed by Rochdale.

We have got better, more intelligent footballers in the side now, and Wilson, Danns and Morris in particular have really lifted the level of our performances.

All of that said, Wycombe looked decent in the second half and a draw was a fair result.

My first question. How much leeway is there for getting new players in, in January?
Sol: hopefully a lot, the majority of these need to go.
I asked what's going on with this lot, most of them don't care.
Sol: they haven't for 2 years now, I don't think most of them want to be at southend and that's what I need to address.

Said he's here next season whatever division and he wants to make the club right again.

Elvis, Hutchinson and Hopper. They were the only ones today, probably Bishop as well but he needs to start shouting at players more. Elvis is the only one consistently . Said that to his sister today that he is the only player who gives his all game in game out.

I've never known such vitriol towards the players as today, something finally snapped, we've had some dire players and dire squads but at least they tried, at least they looked like they cared.
Right now it's Sol Campbell and his coaching team I feel sorry for, they've got to put up with this lot for a while longer.

Don't think I can be bothered to give my time, money and energy to these bastards anymore. Promised my son a Manchester weekender for his birthday at Bolton away but that will be that until we clear some of this lot out.

I'm not too bothered about the WUP yet as Ron is still paying everyone, it's just Ron being Ron and using them as a loan. He pocketed £80k today. Would still love to know where the £10M we suddenly got came from though cos that doesn't seem to have gone anywhere other than down the back of Ron's sofa.

Majority of our fans are fully head in sand about Ron though, how he runs the club and what a thoroughly dodgy individual he is. Lots seem to think he loves the club and wants it to thrive when in reality he just wants his pipe dream of a stadium to somehow come off so he can ride off into the sunset with his retirement fund and just collect rent and all that goes with it.

Professional job by us although the game should have been done and dusted in the 1st half if we'd taken our chances.

Not 100% sure how our game panned out but to miss a penalty at 1-0 up and then concede a late goal, you've got to be disappointed.

Jury's out on Cox..
Without a doubt one of our best players since arriving here but he is one of the senior members of this squad which is currently serving up this dross. He's on my release list at the end of the season put it that way.

We're at Coventry in the league not long after the second round and we'll have also played Ipswich 4 times in 7 weeks because both our league games are close together.

Our draw away to Darlington or Walsall could have been better but then it could have been worse so I'm happy enough with that. We will still need to do a professional job and play well whomever we play.

Based on reports from the game I’m glad I missed last night v Wrexham. The away game was bad enough. Anyhow after struggling against relegation threatened 5th tier Wrexham. Promotion chasing 6th tier Boston await. I’m sure that’ll be, errr, easy.
