We just can’t find a winner at the moment.

Not a bad point on the face of it, don’t think Brackley have been beaten at home for like a year after all. They probably had the better chances but we were more in the ascendancy pushing for the winner particularly in the second half.

Need Asante back ASAP, he’s winning games like this for us.

I would have expected that York's crowds to have been 3-4,000 by now as they have little opposition to being champions?

There wasn't a lot in it I'll grant, but we has 4 or 5 good chances and goalmouth scrambles and Chester keeper got very lucky with a deflection that just hit him, but no surprise, Brackley couldn't covert. Chester had maybe two chances all game. Chester seemed to play a lot of hoofball to their tall number 9 - but then again the conditions were not good. No idea why the game needed to be segregated, and amazed at the crowd of under 500 when I thought it looked like our best attendance of the year.

Apart from York, there seem to be at least 10 teams who are close and could get into the playoffs this year. This includes Alty, by the time we play our next league game we will have played 3, 4 or 5 games less than most. With injuries, suspensions, FA cup, waterlogged pitches we have never really got going in the league, but we have a load of games coming up. Just hope we dont need a replay to beat York next week in the cup, then we can concentrate on the league again

Apart from York, there seem to be at least 10 teams who are close and could get into the playoffs this year. This includes Alty, by the time we play our next league game we will have played 3, 4 or 5 games less than most. With injuries, suspensions, FA cup, waterlogged pitches we have never really got going in the league, but we have a load of games coming up. Just hope we dont need a replay to beat York next week in the cup, then we can concentrate on the league again

Would be happy for you to win in cup,need to concentrate on getting out of league.

Enjoyed a trip to York-Kidderminster at the weekend. York really weren't in the game in the first half but led at the break thanks to a good finish from the edge of the box, while second half was a bit of a reverse, with the home side enjoying far better possession and territory but let their lead slip late. All in all a decent game to watch in pretty awful conditions, with several players having trouble with the slippery pitch underfoot. As has already been said a bit further up this thread, I'm surprised Kidderminster are as low in the table as they are, as they more than matched the league leaders on their own patch.

Perfect start for Paul Cox, fully committed performance and a first clean sheet of the season. The players actually looked like they wanted it for the first time in a few weeks.
It has to said though that Bradford PA were pretty rubbish to be fair, Guiseley away next week will be a totally different challenge though.

Apparently the segregation was the result of ONE Chester lad misbehaving last year. Seems a bit OTT, meant I had to watch the whole game in the rain rather than just the second half! Well clearly as he is a Chester fan his opinion must be better than mine... Not convinced my previous posts would suggest a provenance of partisanship? I'll leave to the reader to make up their own mind - Chester's own match report reads:

'After being forced into a change at the break, with the injured Danny Livesey being replaced by Jamie Morgan, the reshuffled Blues were under the cosh in the opening minutes. They got some respite on 53 though, as Jackson looked to repeat his first half heroics, but this time his curler was off target.

The game was opening up into a real end-to-end affair, with the counter attacking Chester denied by Danny Lewis – who pouched a low effort from Waring after a lay off from Anthony Dudley. Straight up the other end, Armson’s superb ball in from the right just evaded Ndlovu at the back post.

Kevin Wilkin’s side then took charge and had a great spell as the second half ticked on, as Chester had to be alert to deny the forward players with Griffiths making a good save, and the excellent Kevin Roberts as well as sub Jamie Morgan both made respective vital blocks inside the area.

The Blues held firm for a third successive league draw on the road.'

Ah ok fair enough - still plenty of time to climb the table if you carry on playing like that, I was suitably impressed. I watch a fair bit of this 'level' (although I appreciate Conference South is often seen as a lesser quality than the North) as I live in Maidstone, and both sides on Saturday were better than anything I've seen down here this season.

Agree on Armson - when he is hot, he is very hot, when he isn`t, he`s frustrating to watch. Lee and Mattie Lowe would probably be playing higher up if either could add composed finishing to their other skills. Agree re Wilkin, for all his nous he isn`t as flexible as some of us might wish. Daire and Holman are hardly seen - a few minutes at best from the bench. Haven`t seen that much of Baker this season either, so can`t comment on any flopping, but he is a year older. Would add a positive word re Thierry Audel - terrific player at this level, that`s three CBs in a row Kev has found, following Gudger and Hall. Now, if he could only do the same further forward, and, give them a run...

Your own manager has conceded we had more possession in the second half. I've said (twice) that despite that you had the better chances.

Gawd I wish I'd never bothered replying. The person who's report I believe has been putting his opinions on Deva Chat for years. I go to most of the games he offers his opinion on and find his reports accurate, informative and critical of us when that is the case. Good luck for the rest of the season except for 22nd Feb,

After a while, you get to know which reporters "are one eyed" or have selective memory.
On the whole people on here seem pretty even handed and realistic, some are even hyper-critical of their own sides, refreshing sometimes but usually just having a good moan

Last night was bad. The first half was two very good attacking teams against 2 weak defences. It felt like both teams would score every time they would go forward. 2-2 at half time with 2 great goals from us.

Second half we come out in the first 5 or so minutes flying have a long-range strike go just wide, they go up the other end and score and that was us done, barely touched the ball after that. Frustrating as Kings Lynn were there for the taking.

The council have identified some land for us back in Kettering itself. As far as i am aware the purchasing paperwork/planning is still ongoing at the moment. Can't really see us playing there for about 3-4 years, but things may progress quicker than that.
Extra turnstiles and seating will have to be installed at Latimer Park by March.....otherwise we will be demoted back to the Southern League.
