Afraid not mate I'm in Holland for most of that week. Saw £10 is a very decent though, fair play to you for that. It's also in the middle of a crazy run where we have a 4 away games in 11 days (Slovan Bratislava, Newcastle, Villa and Arsenal).

Not to get my excuses in early but I can only see a home win. We'll probably play a lot of kids for it, and our 2 best ones in the Reading game were taken off with bad injuries. The league game 2 weeks later is much more important for both of us.
Yeah you have a right tough run, so I’m hoping you put a weak team out. I fancy us purely because of that and I know we will start a strong 11.

13/8 on a Villa win @ Skybet is an incredible price. With our fixture list this is the game that will have the lowest priority, I would never put money on us to lose but that is very tempting.

Also not related but a great result last night at Besiktas. Got a real chance of qualifying in this group I feel... Can't wait for Braga away in November.

Watched the game and it was a good away performance, crap game but you limited them to nothing and sneaked it late on, even a point would have been decent with the double header against Bratislava coming up. If you get maximum points from those 2 it's looking good.

Same. No doubt it's between Norwich and Watford for 20th. Could be a real battle for the remaining spot though.

I was wrong, Watford have no chance. City will finish bottom by a clear margin. It's now touch and go that they even beat Derby's 11 - a record which I thought would stand forever. Truly shocking. Injuries have really hit hard. It's not just being down to 3rd, 4th, 5th choice all over pitch but not being able to drop under-performing players. Basically no matter how shit you are, if you can move you're on the pitch - or, as in Godfrey's case, even if you can't move, you'll be given painkillers and have to play because there are literally no more alternatives.

Good point for us, seems its gonna be a solid season defensively but the standard lack of goals a lot of promoted teams seem to produce.

Yes - although we missed 2 great chances overall you had most of the ball and were pretty comfortable at the back - like us for once !

Spurs next so nice match for them to bounce back in !

I fancy newcastle to win tommorrow to be fair, this season has a bit of a championship feel to it where anyone can beat anyone other than the top 2 which will be very very rare them losing, the top 2 are so so far ahead its incredible, I think 3rd could be 30 points behind at the end of the season.

Bye bye Premier League, somehow I don't think we'll make it back again (and even if we do, the owners won't do anything to try and help us stay here, so what's actually the point?).

Am I missing something about Norwich? You've beaten Newcastle and Man City so far, and the main reason you're on a bad run is because of an incredibly long injury list. I don't see why there is so much negativity?

People slagging wilder off for not giving henderson a big hug and kiss after his mistake last week proved wrong once again, henderson bounces back with another clean sheet and two cracking saves to earn us a point, wilder had a bit of a pop at him last year after some errors away at villa when we conceded 3 late goals, he bounced back with 7 consecutive clean sheets. Cant say the 40m weve spent on attacking players is looking too clever at the minute, think sharp and mcgoldrick may be starting against arsenal, mcgoldrick is definitely our best attacking player imo at this minute in time he just cannot finish very well. Defensively our championship defence is proving to be outstanding at this stage, only the victims have conceded less. If they keep it up we should be ok.

Because, injury crisis or not, we have no ability to defend whatsoever. We've already conceded 21 goals in 8 games, and will almost certainly have conceded at least 100 by the end of the season. That aside, teams have figured out how to counter and completely nullify our attacking play, so we can't score the goals we need to actually get anything out of games.

Furthermore, we aren't just on a bad run, we're looking completely and utterly uncompetitive against run-of-the-mill Prem sides like Palace and Villa. We're getting outmatched in all departments, have zero confidence and have no ability to change things as we have no one else fit to change things nor do we have any money (by Prem standards) to go out and sign someone who would make even a modicum of difference.

Also, we can't just use the injuries as an excuse either as, though we are missing a lot of players, not many of them would actually be starters in ordinary circumstances. It's probably only Krul, Klose/Zimmerman and possibly Hernandez who would typically start if not for injuries, while the rest would provide depth. So, even if the injured players return to fitness anytime soon, it's not even safe to say that it would change anything for us on the pitch.

At this stage, I genuinely cannot see where our next points will come from as we simply aren't competing at the moment and have actively regressed on all fronts since promotion. And this is all just symptomatic of our owners' refusal to spend money or do anything else meaningful to ensure we can stay in the Premier League for any length of time (including selling the club to an owner who actually wants to keep the club in the Prem). Prudence with ambition is a phrase commonly associated with Norwich, and once again it's going to see us get relegated without so much as a whimper.

Going up and not spending a penny is asking for trouble, although we spent over 40m none of them so far and it's only early have actually improved us, theres only the two strikers who are different from last year tbf, were a lot more cautious and I suppose defensive in the midfield than last year, maybe we could be a little bit more expansive against the so called lesser teams but even they can rip through you in this league in seconds.

It's not really about who is or isn't considered a starter. It's about having options and those are quickly running out. Players will come in and out of form - it's part of football - so being able to replace them is just as key as having "starters" fit.

The defensive unit isn't very good to begin with, so it being ravaged by injury isn't going to help improve that. Krul and Fahrmann being injured at same time is even more inconvenient given McGoven doesn't suit the way Farke wants to play. All three natural CBs (Klose, Zimmermann, Hanley) being injured puts immense pressure on Godfrey - who has mostly done fine at CB but is still only 21yo and hasn't been training fully himself because he needs a hernia operation. Aarons rushed back from injury because Byram did his ankle - also hasn't been training properly because of it but has to be "available" because no-one else. Lewis playing with ligament damage.

With a weak defence, injuries or not, the importance of a midfield enforcer cannot not be underestimated. There is none. The players capable of providing that bite in midfield are either injured (Tettey, Trybull) or filling in elsewhere (Amadou, CB). So it's easy to look at midfield, see Leitner and McLean and say "well, they've both been considered starters" but while you can just about get away with pairings like that in front of a strong (in Norwich terms, obviously) defence in the Championship, you can't have it in front of a makeshift defence in the Premier League.

So, unable to play it out from the back and unable to win it back in midfield... the rest of the team becomes obsolete. Pukki, Buendia, Cantwell (surprisingly), Stiepermann (quietly) showing glimpses of what they can do but they're not seeing enough of the ball because of the devastation further up the pitch. But even then, when they're below-par, the players Farke would bring in to mix it up (Hernandez, Vrancic) are also injured. It's just a complete nightmare. I feel for Farke because he'll probably end up paying the price but his hands are largely tied. He was able to build a side capable of playing the way he wanted (and well, I might add) but a small budget doesn't allow for much depth. Perhaps can be criticised for lack of a plan B but not sure if that's by choice or because the bigger (again relative to Norwich), stronger, more-direct players are all injured. Arguably more a side-effect of a small squad and lack of investment.

Probably the best counter attacking gameplan from any team I have ever seen...

What a fucking result!

And you still played a strong side on Thursday, you'll be absolutely fine this season, should be putting all your energy into the cups. If Traore's final product was better week in week out he'd be one of the most dangerous players in the world.

An 8 point gap at the top for Liverpool just into October, even at this stage it looks like they are nailed on for it.

Got the attackers potentially but as proven when we go to Man City we get hit for 8 because the defence is so poor

Wolves go there and win.

- I think Flores will set us up to defend better but we need to win games now and so will get caught on the break trying to attack.

Man U were awful - did they have a shot on goal.

I'd even fancy our chances against them!

Man United are fucking clueless, setting OGS on full time was always more of a sentimental decision rather than a logical one. They'll be nowhere near the top 6 and are struggling past Kazakh goat herders in the Europa League group stages so wont be winning that, 3 points above the relegation zone 8 games in.

For all the complaining from Arsenal fans they are actually only a point behind City and looking good in 3rd with one loss.

Thing is which Man U player would you fear atm?

None of them are goal scorers, pretty average defence and midfield has no great quality if Pogba isn't interested.

Daniel James has been their best player which says it all - young lad only just signed from Swansea.

Arsenal will be top 4 - they just are very inconsistent performance wise - also a few of their players can drop heads easily.

Or they just go back to the days of Adams/Dixon/Keown and early Wenger sides when they had true "leaders"

Surprised they managed to get a 1-0 win actually.

Even David Luiz said they had to learn how to defend and fight for a result.

Unlike them but they probably have the best finisher in the league and will always create.

Impressed by Chelsea - helped by the transfer embargo with the youngsters having to play but seem to be in form.

Yes but only on an acca which lille let me down on for 1k. Swansea did me for 1.6k too on saturday. Had huddersfield, forest, ipswich, palace, newcastle. Juventus all at great prices on various bets yet have still won fuck all.

All started by our friends in the media, trying to belittle us as usual.
Part of a managers job is to know how to handle individual characters

Some characters need an arm around them
Some need a rocket up their arse

Henderson is a cocky young lad with a strong character who is willing to accept a rollocking when he's at fault. Wilder knows this is how to get the best out of him. Our friends in the media know nothing, but took the opportunity to slag Wilder off and quote the term "Dinosaur methods"

Henderson got a rollocking after we threw away a 3-0 lead at Aston Villa last season due to a couple of mistakes from him, and he got another last week.

He bounced back positively last season and he made two tremendous saves at Watford when he had little else to do, which suggests he really upped his concentration levels.
