Without a better strike partner to join Wootton and another player to add some dynamism in midfield I'm not convinced we'll get better results beyond the new manager bounce of a few games.I think sacking Ardley makes us more likely to implode and not finish in the play-offs to be honest.

Heard the name Derek Macinness mentioned which sounds more plausible than anything else I've seen.
You'd think so but if we've a big budget and some potential perhaps we look a good prospect.I think we’re solid enough to pick up enough 1-0 wins and draws to finish comfortably in the play-offs, but this all adds an element of the unknown, particularly as there’s no sign of the players being anything other than totally behind NA.
Richie Wellens is the only name I’ve seen that really makes any sense. McInnes surely achieved enough at Aberdeen to get a far bigger job down here than ours.

By the sounds of it as should know tomorrow.
Could well be. His CV and stats not really as good as Ardley's overall.I’m going to predict Wellens, think he ticks a lot of the boxes from the little I know about him, and we did quietly extend the loan of that lad from Salford about an hour before announcing the Ardley news..

Salford didn't work out great, high expectations and demanding owners but has a promotion to his name from Swindon.
Clearly not useless but we're a graveyard for managers, of the five promotions I've seen us get three of them took England managers to achieve, the other two Warnock who holds the record for promotions.
I would have predicted this type of appointment.Or not, we’ve appointed Ian Burchnall. Manager of Ostersunds, Graham Potter’s former assistant then successor there.
Although, looking further at it, managing that Ostersunds for two years isn't to be sniffed at. I just thought he was still the assistant or whatever when I skim read it. Ostersunds competed in the Europa League and I presume compete near the top of the Swedish top flight. Far more professional managerial experience than Rusk had.Our man’s never played a game of professional football. Doyle’s actually going to kill him.

Definite similarties though between the two clubs and the vision to progress.
These aren't the appointments we're used to but it sounds like the people who run our clubs always had this vision. I know we did. Our appointment was more unpopular because despite Ardley being well liked at Notts, Gannon was a club legend which stoked fires even more. But this, D.O.F, head coach model was always planned and I'm not narrow minded enough to say that isn't the way football is going because it is. I would have rather us starting going down the route after we'd shithoused our way out of this league though. But we'll see. He’s managed Viking in Norway as well, one of the best supported clubs in Scandinavia. I think the timing here is just weird because this is the man they’ve wanted for ages and suddenly he was available, unfortunate for NA but there we are.

The Notts County owners do realise they are still in the National League right? Odd appointment, would love to know his knowledge of this level, of Maidenhead, Bromley, Wealdstone, Kings Lynn, Woking et al. Vanity hire.
