I put 3p on Parkinson and that's why he shot to the top of the bookies list.

Fairly reliable poster on red passion reckons we've offered the job to Phil Parkinson.

Seems a bit.. meh? Decent record but no previous experience at this level I don’t think and notoriously uninspiring football.

I'm more or less focused on the 3 promotions on his CV. No one is guaranteed to be a success down here but he's definitely less risky than your latest hire.

Sunderland fans hate him, but Kevin Phillips aside who don't they hate?

Rumour is that Parkinson is set to be announced on Thursday.

He's split opinion but I suppose you cannot please everybody. Personally I'm happy with that.

Parkinson has always been a solid League 1 manager, will be a great appointment that, dunno how he sets his teams up to play but those Mackems whinge like fuck over anything so I'd take little notice.

He should feel right at home at Wrexham, then.

Maybe that's why he's been hired: he did really well in the "Entitled Fan Roleplay Test" during the interview process.

That’s what I thought, he’s decent from what I know and to get him to come down here is good going.

Half of me is wondering why, with all that money, you'd opt for Phil Parkinson yet the other half sees it as a decent short term appointment to get into the EFL.

He took a while to get going at Sunderland but I just don't think they took to him well, mainly because of his dull, route one style of play.

It’ll be cringe, no doubt. It’s all we ever do.

It’s going to be great because Phil Parkinson is like the least marketable personality ever. I’m fascinated by what you’re going to make the poor man do.

12 months rolling contract is a bit weird. I have the feeling now that if he doesn’t get us straight up he’ll be on his bike.

4-4-2 route one inbound then down at Wrexham

Listen, it won’t be pretty, but if it’s effective, and it gets the job done and you find yourselves in League 2 come the start of the 22/23 season, who gives a fuck

Best of luck to him

I’m surprised, thought you’d go down a similar route to us and Stockport in getting someone in to build the club structure and playing identity and all of that modern stuff.
