Sounded as though we were good for a point yesterday.

Not too concerned by the two consecutive defeats. This start is mirroring our return to L2 a couple of seasons ago and just needs a bit of tweaking in both boxes against the better sides.

Well I AM concerned. We did a smash and grab against you and were thoroughly handed our arses on a plate by Peterborough..

Excuses? will missing our opening game count? thought not.

I'm hoping that the team will gel soon and that's all it is. We shall see.

Our next match is Accrington away. Anything other than a win after the start they have had and I will be getting a bit worried.

We were absolutely awful against a very good Peterborough side.

Beating Lincoln gave us a bit of false hope (and Lincoln were the far better side on that occasion overall), but we were brought crashing back down to reality on Saturday.

Major work needed and we certainly need a couple of new players before the end of the window.

Looks like our game at Rochdale could be postponed for the international break. Think we’ve had 5 call ups now

We've only lost Ben Woodburn to a call up as far as I can tell.

We've had one ourselves. Should be more but successive Scotland managers have failed to recognise that Ian Henderson (Scottish grandparent) is probably as good as or better than most of the dross who've played up front for them for the last five years. Mind you, they probably think Rochdale are in the Ithsmian League...

Has he been any good?

Has shown some impressive moments but hasn't shown it consistently so far. Don't know about the Bristol Rovers match though but he scored his 1st goal. It was to be expected though as a new club and his 1st spell playing game in, game out. He had a cracking miss against Peterborough. :gr:

I'm encouraged though by those moments when he has set up chances etc/the movement off the ball and I think we will be happy we signed him for the season.

Very nicely taken first goal, may I add

Can't say I noticed anyone in your team apart from Fosu though tbh (and Taylor for obvious reasons)

We're playing Blackpool, who I tipped to do well and who are currently top of the league.

6-0 to Dale, with Luke Matheson becoming the first person to get their GCSE results and a hat trick within 72 hours. 2444 visiting fans are a tad annoyed.

He was a close 2nd to your keeper as a man of the match.

Really we should have won that game, but effort and determination from your lads got you a decent point.

We will play far worse teams than Rochdale and lose. Good outfit.

Thanks Kurt. I agree that you should have won. We altered our shape somewhat to accommodate Jimmy Ryan, in place of an In form Aaron Morley, who is another of our kids. You had obviously done your homework on us and outnumbered us in midfield, which nullified our passing game somewhat; thus resulting in us looking lightweight up front.

Great numbers and very vocal support from Blackpool...good to see you lot happy again following the Oyston misery years.

That stand holds 3,500? And we had 2,000 in there?

Not sure about that. Must have been 2,500 ish.

Didn't take too much notice last season but this season, is he just not good enough and the players are underachieving under him? Or managing a squad that isn't great anyway?

It is traditional to change managers AFTER being beaten by Rochdale. Darlington used to do this virtually every season (usually to Dave Hodgson), whilst I think Oxford did it twice in one season.

I think we've actually got worse since he took over... yes we got the win against Sunderland but it was on telly against a team who had already blown automatic promotion is it any surprise the players were up for it when on telly and a cup final situation.. Our worst performances of recent memory have come under Bond. We change formation every game, we cannot defend for our lives with 0 signs of improvement, he simply hasn't got a clue. His post match comments are bizarre and he could send you to sleep listening to him god knows how he can motivate a team that are clearly in a huge rut. I think he will go down as one of our worst ever managers.

Looks like we will follow tradition when we lose on Saturday. He has conducted the pre-match interview today but I'm informed the wheels are well in motion for a replacement and leading candidate is Scottish based and local journo informed the same. Don't really know why we don't get rid now even if we somehow beat you (won't happen) we will only get dicked by Pompey the following week and he'll go then. Dead man walking.

Be ironic if you did lose, with three (possibly) players who we'd have quite liked but couldn't afford: Humphrys (decent enough on loan for us, but we couldn't afford the transfer fee); Ethan Hamilton (am guessing that you're paying more of his Man U salary than we were last season); Theo Robinson (on trial with us a few summers ago - looked reasonable but couldn't agree terms).

With Elvis in defence and The Good Ship Lollipop in your squad Bond really has no excuse... :)

Off to Rotherham on Saturday for my first ever visit to the New York stadium. Never saw Tranmere win at Millmoor, so hoping for better luck at the new ground. As things stand would gleefully accept a draw.
What ever happened to Millmoor, seems to be still there in its entirety on Google maps?

I'm under the impression it's still there and the grass is still been mowed. Happy to be corrected

Millmoor is still there alright but obviously in a bit of a state, you can still see into the ground from Coronation Bridge.

It was used the other week for some sort of strongman competition' so the must have managed to get some sort of safety certificate you would think.

NYS is certainly a very nice place to watch football and we are very lucky to have it.
Still miss Millmoor a little bit, (before it was made all seater though)

Interesting game coming up against Lincoln this weekend. They started well, couple of blips but the impetus of promotion should than sustain them. Good test for both teams and a draw will be a good point for both sides

Tough away game Vs Burton - I’ll happily take a point there

Burton fans, although this changed yesterday (thank god), but why on earth did you make it all ticket?!

Fleetwood look to have a decent enough squad to be fair to them.

Cowley got his team selection and subs spot on, on Wednesday so I'd expect us to be pretty fresh.

New loanee Callum Connolly will probably start because O'Connor played 90 minutes in midweek.

Peterborough away tomorrow. If we can get through Ipswich away, Portsmouth at home and Peterborough away unbeaten that sets us up nicely... as long as we beat the teams lower down which was the problem last season.

Maddison is bound to score due to some sort of narrative reason beyond anyone's control, least of all our defence. We tried to sign Eisa a little while ago so don't know if that counts in the 'bound to score' stakes. Sounds like Maguire is out as well as McNulty which puts a dampener on our creativity and energy up front.

We haven't drawn 1-1 for a while.

See Portsmouth are eligible to call off our game next week due to international call ups. They would be stupid to do so though the form we're in the under 18s would see us off.
