Typical loss really. Team on good form comes to a team that's struggling and loses, saving their manager for another week. Happens all the time.

Not too gutted, we go again next week.

Luton Town - Club record unbeaten run in the Football League: 20 games.

The club record regardless of league or non league is 27 under John Still in the Conference.

Battered em second half and should have had a couple more before they pulled one back in the final minute. Brace for Woodrow and he could have had a hattrick were it not for a couple of decent saves from the Wycombe keeper, 10 league goals in 17 for him now so it’s great we’ve got him with Moore out for a couple of games.

Game in hand against Burton on Tuesday night before we travel to Portsmouth next weekend. Good times at Oakwell.

Thanks again to Barnsley for George Moncur, now three wins that he's played a huge part in.

Since Steve Rutter came in as assistant manager at Luton:

Played 23
Won 18
Draw 4
Lost 1
58 points out of a possible 69.

Unreal.

Walsall were probably the worst side to play against us in a long time. Truly horrendous.

Yeah, I'm sure he's done a good job but not really buying that he's made the difference.

For my money the real turning point was getting Justin in the team. The diamond system relies so much on having great fullbacks who can bomb forward as well as get back and defend. Potts is a solid defender at this level but always looked a bit lost when he got the ball in the opposition half. Now Luton can launch attacks from left and right for the whole 90 minutes.

Justin came on for an injured Potts in the first game of Luton's unbeaten run and has kept his place since.

No I didn’t say it was necessarily him, but that’s an unbelievable coincidence and numbers on his copy book.

Lovell saving his job today, which is great considering the Scottish Cheaty McFraud is currently without a club.

Great come back from us today. Cox really was our only decent player thoughand lucky really as our back up strikers are babies with under 5 games between them. We need this season to end now and get the long list of injured players back(another 2 forced off today)

Oh!!! Luton you can fcuk right off, You bunch of mamby pamby southerners coming up north.
With your fast attractive attacking, precise passing, and not least away supporters. Don’t you KNOW its grim up north. We like our towns to be grim, our women folk slightly grimmer but above all we expect OUR football to be totally grim. That’s why we invented Fishermans Friend, any risk of joy / excitement, just pop one of those mothers in, back to grim reality, sorted.

Admittedly occasionally a team may aspire to drag themselves out of the grimness, but they soon realise where their true home is, welcome back Wigan and Bolton for next season. Why can’t you be content with mediocrity like a big team in this league, Sunderland are usually happy and grateful with a bore draw. All this Cruyff type stuff has no place in this league so the sooner you are gone the better.

Shamelessly stolen from Facetube...

13th April 2009 - Luton we’re relegated out of the football league.

13th April 2019 - Charlton away. Exactly 10 years to the day, could it be the day we manage to win promotion back to the championship?

What a day it would be!

Because he’s a mardy arsed little twat who gets his daddy involved when he’s not starting. He was second string here plain and simple. He has the talent at this level, no one at Oakwell would argue different, but he ain’t the star he and his pops think he is.

We got rid cos he'd shown no progress in 2 and a half seasons after we spent a decent sum (for us) on him.

Why we sold him to Luton I don't know. He's already scored the same amount of league goals for them as he did in all his time with us. The shyster.

That is the weird thing about it. Clearly he was nowehere near the first 11 at Barnsley and had no future there so it was the right decision to get rid. And its not like you have been affected by his departure, the form is excellent.

But why sell to one of your playoff/promotion rivals? Even if his departure isn't going to affect you directly, why put him in a position to help one of the sides around you. I can't imagine he was held in such low esteem that it was deemed he wouldnt help our cause in any way and I think he only had 6 months left so wouldn't have thought our offer would have been in the realms of too good to turn down. Surely the better option would have been to sell/loan to someone further down or let him rot in the reserves until the end of the season.

If you trace moncur's family lineage back to William the conquerer you will see the link to Luton...
I can tell you now that he was a sleeper deliberately groomed and placed in Barnsley by MI5...
Beware... there are others!!!

WTF?
Done the double over Portsmouth without conceding.
Now done the double over form team Scunny without conceding, even though our best defender Zakuani is now out for the season.
Beaten Cardiff in the cup without conceding.

And yet....Lost 3-0 at home to Walsall who are otherwise in freefall.
Lost 1-0 at home to the Wombles who are now detached at the foot of the table.
Should have lost to Slough in the cup but scored with our only shot.

Glorious inconsistency taken to another level.

So George Moncur got booked for an overzealous celebration yesterday. Look at the video - what did he actually do wrong?

He ran half the length of the pitch away from the Luton end to do a knee slide and celebrate in front of the the home fans, pretty standard booking.
