One of the most bizarre sights at Banbury today, must have been 50 police officers, officers on horseback, sniffer dogs, basically everything you can think of. Never seen anything like it at this level.

Solid win today, Banbury are a good side we just let them have the ball and tried to break. Palmer only had to make 1 save really and it was a great one in stoppage time.

How things change in a week. We were woeful against Southport, now 2 solid 1-0 wins on the bounce.

Boston 2-3 Chester

Thought today was going to be a cakewalk at one point going three up but we ended up doing it in the most Chester way possible with a needlessly nervy last few minutes. We deserved a good lead at half time, we did really well in that spell but were also aided by Boston making some stupid mistakes.

Got there in the end, that's the main thing.

Southport 1-4 Buxton

I've never seen us lose by 3 goals and come away thinking we should have won... until yesterday. The referee (Richard Holmes) did everything he could to help Buxton and screw us over, including:
1) Disallowing a perfectly good goal for us from a corner because our player "unsighted" the goalkeeper (I kid you not)
2) Giving them a free kick in the 3rd minute of the 2 mins added time at the end of the first half, when everyone could see it was them who fouled us, and they then score from the second phase of the free kick
3) Turning down 3 very good penalty appeals
4) Booking our player for kicking the ball away despite him kicking it less than half a second after he whistled, and the score being 0-0 with us having no intention of time wasting

We battered Buxton for 90 minutes, and had any of the key decisions been made correctly I suspect we would have gone on to get a positive result. As it was they picked is off on the counter attack 3 times in the second half, with the last 2 whilst we were throwing men forward trying to get back in the game. We were wasteful in front of goal, which is probably the only criticism we could level at our players.

The sponsor's MOTM award was announced over the tannoy as going to "Every Southport player for what they have had to put up with today". Petty, but pretty much says it all.

Bad luck. We would be in the play-off places now if the refs at our matches hadn't been so f*** ing useless.

Thank God I won't have to watch you again this season.
You're missing out. Watching expansive, free flowing attacking football must be a novelty for you guys with your crab like sideways, tippy tappy pointless football he's got you playing. We had the same under Mansell, boring.

Banbury are developing a reputation for causing trouble, apparently when Hereford visited it kicked off so this was the response to that but even so it was over the top. Their ground exit is a complete bottle neck though where away fans and home fans meet. But we didn't have that many police for the West Ham game let alone a step 6 game.

There was Banbury fans behind the goal who when the final whistle and our keeper decided to celebrate they thought it was fair to pelt him with their drinks. To which he got booked for reacting to it

All you did when you played us recently was time-waste. Referee added 8 minutes, but it should have been 20. You never troubled our GK and your goal was from an unfortunate slip by our player near your box. Every time we got a move going one of your players would fall to the ground like he was having cardiac arrest and the dim ref fell for it and stopped play. Those tactics will only work for so long.

1-1 with Leamington. Had the chances to win it, but they had a one on one to make it 2-0 which thankfully Taylor saved, so draw probably fair overall. Really need to stop giving soft goals away. Need a win Tuesday at Telford.

Injuries caught up with us tonight. 8 first teamers out tonight (including Mitford who scored both on Saturday) and then Morgan again going off injured. 1 all at the break but BPA got a second, another poor choice of keeping from Hall leading to it. He's costing us goals continually and frankly I think he's gotta go if we want to remain near the top.

McClure lobbed their keeper with the last kick of the game but it hit the bar and came back out. One of those nights.

We've been playing with multiple players out all season and they are only just getting back now.

It reminds me of our last home game before lockdown in March 2020 when we absolutely played Farsley off the park for 90 minutes and lost 4-2. Them...4 chances, 4 goals. Us...aah, I can't even describe it. The ref was very pro them as well.

Much needed win last night, despite late reshuffle to defence following Lawlor withdrawal. Hat Trick for Jack Lambert - great to see him back to his best. No bounce from Wilkin yet for Telford.

The bounce is at Brackley - joint top, 14 points from 18, Johnson still hasn`t lost, looking a very different side. Harsh on Wilkin, but suspect he and Brackley needed the change. He will sort Telford out if he gets the support from the board there.

Yes, you and us are the current form teams. I'm so glad we played you early doors before you got your mojo working.

Obviously you must have been asleep when you played Darlo?
We were just getting players back when we played against you and you didn’t look any better than us on the day , you took the points but you didn’t look like world beaters on the day.

Hi Lads. I see our FA Trophy tie is to take place as Normal on Saturday 19th November 3pm.

Heard a rumour that we couldnt play then due to the Rugby club? What changed?
I’ve not heard anything on that front, but as we weren’t scheduled to play that weekend. I can imagine the rugby club did kick up a fuss now we have been drawn at home, especially if they are at home too.

What sort of style do you guys employ? Hoofball up to Mark Beck?

Went to the Chorley game last wk- v v unlucky/robbed in not getting anything from 3 goals scored away and being the better side for large spells of the game. The ref- he 'saw' some v odd things in the game that no-one else did. Their penalty? Nobody near me home OR away knew what he had given or why. Not allowing isaac assensio back on following an injury until they had scored. Carlton U was physically thrown to the ground in the second half= no penalty. No indication of timings in either half. No announcemt of added time, no sign of the amount either. Seemed to panic once we got it back to 4-3 and blew up for full time (in case we spoilt his pools coupon??!). hmm

V good win for the Celts today... looks an odd division this yr - as others have said, seems pretty much anyone can win on a given day. The middle are v congested- by that I mean you could go from 3rd to bottom half or vice-versa in a week. Brackley looked like struggling then suddenly are top!

Hard fought win today against a decent and organised Bradford PA. Willoughby getting the goal chasing down a long ball forward from Tyrer.

Tight league isn't it, we've gone from 16th to 5th in a week.

Nine of the 11 starters vs you guys back in August started today. Leaving aside that defeat on the context of an early Brackley red card, a completely different side though in approach, Woods and Rooney the new guys, catalysts in a confident, coherent performance which could been embarassing for Kettering. Johnson`s approach, with his coaching team, is working wonders on skill and confidence levels. Could be an interesting journey for the little club in Northants...

Another dire performance from Chorley against a poor Southoort side who deservedly won what was a truly dreadful game. I see us sliding closer and closer to the drop zone unless changes are made, deslly in the clubs ownership, but all through it's getting rotten to the core.

First half we were shite and you were slightly better, deservedly 1-0 to you at HT. Second half we were much better and you were shite. A 2-1 win to us is probably fair but it was far from a classic.

It also seems that we're both attracting a number of idiots intent on causing trouble. I don't get it at all, we've had a fair and friendly rivalry since the 90's albeit with some leagues between us for a large period. The past couple of seasons it's been ruined by little bell ends (of which we had plenty today) and it just isn't in keeping with the fixture.
