On the plus side for us we have 'Andy Nelson' back from his long lay-off.

Top striker especially at this level once he has few more games under his belt, 2 goals yesterday absolutely chuffed to bits what a start.

Other than that the talking point is the DEFENCE!

Chester fans, Rhys Hughes seems to have fallen out of favour with your management recently. Any clues on what’s going wrong, or is it more experience becoming available? Due to injuries we couldn’t name a full bench yesterday so wonder if he’ll be heading back this way.
Love Rhys, But its just rotation really. For the first time since Neil Young was here we've got probably 22 players who are all good enough to start. A few out injured and a few youngsters out on loan.

I expect curzon to give Fylde a good go tonight for them others hoping they can drop points we normally at league try and give the top sides a good game at home l.

Just infuriating we get a chance of top 7 the have that awful week flogging 3 bad defeats then suddenly beat Brackley who we never beat.

Gonna be an interesting game against Kidderminster as the club have appeared to cock tickets up again and have the home and away stands all over the place. Utterly tinpot yet again

I've got a ticket for the Gloucester Brewery Stand as it said Away on the website. Is this not correct?

For segregated games that's the home end. The 1883 stand that is showing for away seating is the other side of the stadium from where you'll be too. I'm sure they'll get you in the right area eventually but it just sums up the club off the field right now.

Ah okay. Coming on the fans coach so sure I won't be the only one in that boat. We'll figure it out when we get there.

Telford away today. Got to get the win that should guarantee safety.

Tough one for us today.. Down to bare bones. Influential Kevin Roberts out for a month; Rhys Hughes recalled by Tranmere; Caton doubtful plus a few long-term absentees. I think a point would be an achievement. I suppose it depends on the ref. We're due a decent one after Tuesday's clown.

Well, if there is a way to win ugly, we found it today, cant believe Banbuty failed to score in one phase alone they managed to hit both posts and the crossbar, but a scrambled goal from Scott Wilson gave us all 3 points.

Southport 0-0 Kettering

It was as bad as it sounds. I don't think either side had a shot on target, although Kettering hit the woodwork twice.

Unfortunately the ref was a disaster. Both the Seadogs goals were preceded by fouls on Chester players that went unpunished. Still we played a lot better with a patched up side than was expected. On to Blyth, who are battling hard to stay in this division.

Yeah, neither of their goals should have stood for fouls on Murray for the first and Willoughby for the second. Awful ref, gave dodgy decisions both ways but it cost us whereas Scarborough gained. Played well but we looked tired after so many games recently and the injuries are mounting up again.

Enjoyed today otherwise, just under 3,000 in with a decent turnout from them and had them back behind the goal. Felt like the good old days.

Got away with that, we were crap first half and Kiddy really should have been out of sight. We were better second half, not by much, but the ref was useless. He actually went to pull a second yellow out on Kiddys 18 and bottled it when he realised he'd already booked him. Unbelievable.

We were denied a penalty, Kiddy got the free kick. But then he booked the Kidderminster player for it? Bizarre.

As predicted however, shambles at the ground. The ends were wrong, end of the game despite it being segregated all hell broke lose and it was a free for all. Saw a few Kidderminster lot in a bad way. Didn't look good. Things were chucked on the pitch again at Dibble and fans invaded when we scored the equaliser. Tad concerned we could be having a massive fine on the way

You either seem particulary unlucky with refs, or. there's another explanation...

We're crap at the moment - so nothing to fear from Brackley. Gaz Dean our best player, looks out for the season.

Largely agree with this. We should have been 3-0 up at half time but not taking our chances allowed Gloucester into the game. Very much sums up our season.

Lissimore was definitely lucky not to pick up a second yellow card, but to be honest we felt that Gloucester were getting the rub of the green on the whole. We were also denied what seemed a fairly clear penalty second half, and your number 24 didn't receive a booking for exactly the same thing that Lissimore did.

On what happened after the game, a few of our problem supporters seemed to decide that it would be a clever idea to stand outside the Gloucester exit and try to look intimidating. Didn't seem to go well for them. A number of them have already been banned from Aggborough after similar things had happened at a few other away games.

To be honest, we were surprised by how few stewards/security there were in the away end at the start of the game given the issues we've had. It was basically just one bloke at each of the segregation points.

Genuinely been unlucky with them this season. Never known them to be this bad before.

The one today was awful both ways, got loads wrong but it just happened to be us who got the costly ones.

Got the win at Telford and think at 49 points that is safety again for another year.

That last play off spots were in sight it is so frustrating to be so poor away at Kettering and Leamington two poor sides, the chance was there.

Still can now just try and finish as high as possible and build for next season.

Finally back to winning ways by dismantling Hereford 3-0, we looked far too comfortable and Hereford looked shockingly bad.

Onto Farsley away on Tuesday.

Looks like the real break up of the Brackley side of the last six years. Johnson seems to be running out of ideas. Overloaded with 30 something strikers who can`t find the net, a midfield which simply doesn`t create enough, and now a Gaz Dean-less defence for the rest of the season apparently. Rumours he may join up with Wilkin, imagine Walker and Lewis may call it a day, while if Armson stays it will only be because of that melodic chant. Guess Johnson will have the summer to properly rebuild and create a brand new squad. Will be interesting to see what he can put together during a genuine break.

He also missed a Scarborough defender handling on the line in the second half. That's given and its game over.

Go to 3 minutes. Can anyone - other than the ref - see anything approaching a foul?

Huge result there for Farsley, thrown a big twist to the relegation battle, think other 3 are gone.

Hope they can achieve it and survive, they got financially stripped down to scraps earlier in season.

Another failure from Curzon to even play well away at a poor side……at the end of season the reflection will be that cost us massively.

Relegation scrap certainly looking closer than the automatic promotion spot, Fylde fully deserved their win at the Walks last night and with it the title (in all likelihood). Whether we can go up via the playoffs remains to be seen, we are not in good form but think most clubs in those playoff spots seem to be saying the same, still a month away for someone to really string a run together and get a bit of momentum

Yeah it’s probably done now Tony. Been a great battle this season. We were 8th when Adam Murray become manager. He’s done a superb job. Been having a read of your forum. Seems like you’ve been hampered by injuries recently. We’ve been very lucky with injuries this season tbh. Not had many

We haven't had many injuries but the ones we have had have been crucial. First half of the season we had a pretty consistent lineup and were playing really, really well but haven't been able to pick that side since. Basically we lost 2/3 of our midfield trio and then basically anyone with a left foot - LH side midfielder (since Boxing Day, no date for return), L wing back (couple of games since mid-Jan, now out again), L centre half / wing back (injured then came back and now out for the season) so unsurprisingly we have lost some balance.

Thought you looked better both individually and collectively last night, certainly could see the effect of being full-time which can't always be said for us. Also pleased to see Rowley playing well last night, he was great for us in his brief loan spell before breaking his leg and going back to Chesterfield

We've issued more stadium bans to those idiots. Police also involved.

Kettering are masters of the dull 0-0. I've seen 3 of them in the 4 Town games I've seen this year - the other was a 1-0 (penalty) victory over King's Lynn!

Alfreton Rugby Club for us tomorrow. Played them 3 times in 2022 and had a player hospitalised each time. If we come away from the game with no injuries, I'll consider it a success.

Pleased to see Matt Preston's got a loan move to Brackley as part of his recovery over a year on from that dreadful tackle. Really hope he gets some game time in between now and the end of the season. If he's the player we had last year, he's more than a capable replacement for Dean for them.
