Have Radcliffe got a bit of money behind them then? Both at an advanced stage of their career now but Joycey for example is only just over a year removed from being a regular for us at L2 level. Adams has always been a classy player too wherever he’s been.

They should be able to perform at this level with a plethora of experience even at the age of 34-year-old (Joyce) and 35-year-old (Adams) respectively. Good for Radcliffe with a couple of shrewd signings.

Paul Hilton took over the club in 2016 and seems to be investing in certain areas on and off the field. I don't think he's turned Radcliffe into a hobby club.

Radcliffe signing Jem Karacan could be a very good signing at that level . Throw in Adams ; Joyce ;Fitzpatrick and Bobby Grant the player manager scored well last season. Will be interesting what price they are to win the league

New to this forum and wishing I was looking forward to a season in the northern premier unfortunately my team blew up in typical fashion at the back end and consigned us to another season at least in the npl west. The premier division looks good again this year and will watching Lancaster's progress with interest as they seem to have targeted a few of our ex players this last year and also seem to have adopted the Furness area as their catchment.
Is there a separate thread for the Npl west or can you just comment on here?

Probably isn't the demand so use this one, what do you think Darlo On Tour?

I sometimes watch Spalding in the NPL Midlands so will put any views in here.

Remember watching your team in the Third. Mike Rogan one of the best goalies I've seen at that level.

Unfortunately never got to see the reds in the football league, my first game was 1978 the year after they lost the re-election vote. Heard great things about Mike Rogan though one of a long line of west cumbrian goalkeepers alongside John Burridge,Tony Caig,Scott Carson, Dean Henderson and James Trafford.
I'm really looking forward to this season but feel we will all be chasing Macclesfield with the quality of players they've brought in

I THINK they have some old PL pro's involved- Kevin Campbell (everton/arsenal), frank sinclair (Jamaica interntl) so will have money AND contacts to get hold of players. Plus they will be getting rent off the new Bury side too. For now.

Quite surprised to see Liversedge being so low in the betting odds. V good set of players there - some old/aging legs granted, but still Walshaw will score goals at that level for another year, with ben atkinson, and other good players from NPL level or above, too.

They could be this season's surprise package at 25/1. With eleven new signings joining Bobby Grant's squad over the summer months, It will be a first proper test at Hyde United.

It sounds as though they ain't short of a bob or two!

Some poor attendances in amongst those games,it no wonder Macclesfield can attract players easily to drop divisions with their spending power,

It doesn't read well at the moment whether they'll pick up or not with a lot of supporters feeling the pinch.

It's not so bad if Manchester United are one of the visitors like Belper Town's attendance.

Macclesfield must be well poked up are they.

The whole structure at Macc is first class. Crowds are decent and the club is making money in every department, hence why better NPL and some NLN players have joined.

To be fair they have joined because your paying them silly money for that level.

Naturally yes, also, why would a player go to a club who barely get 500 fans. WIth a tiny clubhouse and portaloos when they can play for Macc, who get 3-4k gates and have state of the art facilities.. Any player with any ambition would 100% join.

I suppose that's fair enough, exactly, that's what we need a decent ground ours is absolutely shite hate the place. Has Macclesfield got a new stadium when you say state of the art facilities..
