Sad to see both those pair go, proper league football clubs but managed terribly.

It is amazing in a way how down the toilet football about Manchester area has become over the last 10 years, clubs across different levels are much lower than they were heading into next season.

Wigan and Bolton from premiership to League one. Rochdale and Oldham from League one down to conference, stalybridge from conf north level now dropped down to northern league west.

Bury are bust, Macclesfield are bust, Droysden are gone completely.

I didn’t realise how crappy a football area it was till moved here, masses of pub and tv fans very few at game fans

Hard to say isn't it, maybe the Mo Sylla stuff was bigger than it was made out to be, the players had put so much in to that run prior to that, they bottled the Stevenage game, clearly affected them and they didn't have the character or the desire to bounce back. We all know where the buck stops though, what are the odds on the fat arrogant c*** sacking Askey now?

Would not surprise me if he sacked Askey off.
Askey did say in his PreMatch interview they were jobs at stake.

Probably sniffing round Darrell Clarke now.

For me we had enough on the pitch yesterday(probably would have played feathers ahead of Sylla)
But the fight just was not there.

What's now worse, if you post on this forum and your club gets relegated is the non league forum below is completely dead now so that's a bummer.

I have absolutely nothing against Hartlepool and Rochdale but I'll be glad if Crawley and Harrogate stay up. Partly it's tinpot solidarity and partly because once a tinpot goes down it is near impossible to get back. I am sure pool and dale will be back in the football league soon.

We're bucking the trend tbf, last 3 or 4 years been great after a shocking 10 years prior.

Our gates have never been bigger and are growing all the time.

Very sorry to see this happen with Hartlepool. I genuinely thought JA would get them out of it but guess the damage was largely done earlier on. At least there’s already someone in place who knows how to get out of that league on a limited budget. Also sorry to see Dale drop too. Doesn’t seem right the fourth tier without them in it.

We're staying up! Hopefully be nowhere near the bottom spots next season. Get foulds signed up and sign Andy Cooke who is out of contract and a few more and we'll do good.

What about

Kevin Phillips has left South Shields by mutual consent after guiding them to promotion from the Northern Premier League to National League North

as your next manager

Feel for Hartlepool. Am I being daft though when I say they're not actually down yet? I mean I know that result Saturday has fucked it but if Crawley lost both and Hartlepool won both it wouldn't be out of the question. It's only a 6 goal swing.

It is a long shot but you never know.

Not counting my chickens.

We got relegated from league 1 in a similar style. 0-2 up v Posh and lost. Leading v Coventry and lost and relegated on the final day.

The sad thing is you don’t see hartlepool and dale again for years.

Been there done that, imagine the thought of having to play the likes of non league sides you’ve never heard of like dorking, ebbsfleet, chesterfield and wealdstone.

No ta.

*Andy Cook

And nice joke lol. He’ll probably leave to the new Roy of the Rovers of the league who have come up against all the odds.

No thanks.
Needed a shed load of money to get out of a pub league.
Now the chairman is cutting back, he's buggered off.

Now now silly, one of those teams is way more ‘heard of’ than the other 3.

Wealdstone - Thanks to the Wealdstone Raider.

Speaking to Football League World, Palmer said: "Kevin Phillips led South Shields to the Northern Premier League title this season in his first managerial post.

"You have to understand the circumstances in that, they were the only full-time team in that league and the chairman has put loads and loads of money in there.
Hope hes not expecting that if he does come here lol
