So true.
I've been very fortunate seen Notts at Wembley 6 times , 4 playoff finals (won 3, lost 1) and 2 Anglo Italian finals (won 1, lost 1).

Beating Brighton to reach the old first division in front of 59,000 with a great team and manager will always be my favourite day as a fan. Beating Chesterfield last year after never leading coming back from 1-0 and 2-1 down, and winning on penalties kicks in front of 23000 Notts fans to escape the National League a close second.

Losing to Bradford City having broken down en route to the capital, just missed kick off, thoroughly outplayed and outnumbered in the stands 3:1 with a very average aide, poor style, and hard to like management duo in charge was less gutting but more depressing fron start to finish. Horrible day. Actually beat Crewe in the semi finals as I remember the away leg well.

The rest have been playoff defeats in semi final or earlier stages which are never fun. Promising season gone in 90 or 120 minutes to the likes of Walsall, Grimsby, Torquay, and a final defeat in front of no fans versus Harrogate. Powerhouses all ending our season in a variety of fashions.

I know some clubs have never a won a playoff, others have never made a final but in my mind there is no better way to get promoted. Winning the title looks much better in the history books and is usually stress-free by comparison but if you win in the final nowt beats it.

I love the playoffs mostly. Beat Notts in 1996; That Kamara team is still one of my favourites. Love Kammy. Don't remember too much about the game itself, more so the occasion. It was my first Wembley trip. I was only nine at the time.

Beat Northampton in 2013. 3-0 after 27 minutes. It was probably the easiest and most comfortable game of football I've seen live.

Lost to Millwall in 2017. Offside Steve Morrison goal. We were the better team on the day. Gutted.

Last season's playoff can get in the bin.

Seen us win one v Mansfield and lose one to WBA both were the same score (3-0). We also had one v Bristol Rovers which we won but that was before the final was played at Wembley and I hadn't really started supporting Vale at that time.

The WBA one was hard to take at the time as we were the better team over the season but on the day things unravelled from the moment Peter Swan was sent off. We'd actually beaten Stockport in the then Autoglass final there the week before, safe to say would have gladly swapped them in hindsight. We did get promoted the year after though.

Think I’m correct in saying Mansfield have never won a play-off. The worst memory etched in my brain is 2004 against Huddersfield where we were wrongly disallowed a goal.

We owe them one next season for that!

The pressure of the playoffs is like no other, the final representing your whole season's efforts in one game.

Defeat at any stage is gutting, but to win the playoffs especially at Wembley is incredible. Best days ever, the real big day out.
Alright, alright, stop rubbing it in

We've been to Wembley 4 times and never conceded a goal in normal time. Unfortunately we lost our first visit to York on penalties but 3 wins since.

I'd have rather played MK than Doncaster in the playoffs though. MK are cursed in the playoffs whereas the last time we played Doncaster over 2 legs it really was a disaster. At least Jason Price can't score past us this time though!

The play off final in cardiff for me despite the result showed me why wembley is so over rated best venue ive ever been to close to the city loads of pubs and a great police force ,getting away after the game was tricky though

I remember that did the ball go out of play or not in the build up, disgraceful decision... And in a final!

Also remember Liam Lawrence's cocky and costly penalty miss.

We’ve absolutely dominated all 3 of our finals, and been shit in the semis every time which is strange. As you say shithoused against Millwall was a real kick in the teeth, think if Clarke had scored early it would have been another Northampton and they’d have caved. Notts was a lovely day, one of the first my games my dad took me too. Used to think football was always that good, lol.

I would have Donny as favourites, then MK, Crawley and Crewe.

But then again I'd probably have had Carlisle 4th favourites this time last year so it doesn't work that way.

Hopefully, we'll have something to cheer next season. Getting a bit sick of saying that though tbh.

a few, found it a tad tinpot to do it for finishing 3rd but given we’ve been trying to get promoted and royally fucking it up for god knows how long maybe it was a bit of enjoyment for those who went along.

I’d popped into see mates in bolton on way back from barrow so wasn’t about

You can tell we’ve got some amateurs on here, not around during the old TFF days - the dog pic was by far the best last time and we’ve not come across anything like that yet!

Seriously it looked a good turnout especially considering how bad the weather was.

Heavy rain on the day of the promotion bus parade is perfectly fitting for Mansfield's successful season. YOTS

yeah I agree to be fair, not something I was personally interested in but it seemed to go well at least.

Nothing going to stop us now, unless it is a low bridge.
