We've played well and deservedly led at half time, but since Boro brought on 4 half time subs it's been all one way. Think penalties might be the best we can hope for here.

Great day out as you say, and good money for the club, but having been to 3 major finals with the Vale, and dominated and won each game, I'm not sure how I'd feel about my team getting battered at Wembley.
Seen us lose 3 nil to West Brom in 93 play off final. That was wank. Lost 5 - 2 to Genoa, that was a good day to be fair. The comp wasn't really taken seriously, but beating West Brom jn the semi was good.

I'm against the U21 aspect of this comp now but if we'd got to Wembley we'd be buzzing for the day out. Now we've gone out, it's a wank competition again.

I was impressed with us first half, should have been 2 up. The equaliser was poor. Rico going off killed the game as a contest. We offered little going forward afterwards. Felt sorry for Shorrock up against Longman. Good experience for the kid though.

No one could smash us the way Swansea did in 2013 so I’m not too fussed for Birmingham’s billion pound squad and that manager no one’s ever heard of.

Considering the vibrating balls won't let you draw Peterborough, who of you other 3 teams do you fancy drawing?

Home tie, we’ve lost one game at home this season and even then we were in poor form and had no midfield. Birmingham would probably be best, as they may not go full strength like they will at Wembley.

Am I missing something? Why can’t we draw Peterborough?

I think a few are Saying a Birmingham Wrexham is a formality....We have always taken this competition seriously and if Evatt was in charge Wrexham would be playing our first team. Schumacher may mix things up and bring in 5/6 changes but also has history in this cup getting Plymouth to the final against us two seasons back.
We will have a decent team and the 5/6 to come in will not be kids more likely... Baxter in Goal for Southwood
Jones at rwb instead of Cogley, Santos instead of Forester, Thomason instead of Sheehan, Lolos instead of Randall Mcatee instead of Collins and Etete instead of Adaboyejo
If Wrexham put the same team out they did against Vale i fancy us to turn them over

Forgetting that conspiracy, I would love a Bantams v Bolton final, so Posh at home in semi final please, we could beat them at home.

If we get through, I'd rather draw Posh than yourselves at home in the semis. They're utter dirge.

The dream is Peterborough at home and you stun Birmingham in the semis. Birmingham at Wembley would be crap, we always lose there and the big pitch will suit them more than us. Their fans would be unbearable too.

I find Bradford fans to be a decent bunch.

They were a mixed bag but obviously hard to judge when we make 11 changes them 10 I think.

In the first game in the groups they were fairly meh and a more clinical side is 3-0 up on Tuesday after 15 minutes, defensively they weren't great (luckily we were worse!) not sure who their number 6 was but he had a mare of a game but did have the quality in midfield (again though against a young player who hadn't kicked a ball in 9 months and a 34 year old Jason Lowe so wasn't exactly our usual dynamic George Byers, Ben Garrity, Ryan Croasdale midfield three!)

Just glad we dont have to play you lot again in this! although Wrexham seem to be the new one we always get!

Imagine though they will take it more serious now Wembley is close.

Number 6 is Tom O'Connor who is usually pretty solid, but he was absolutely awful on Tuesday. Easily his worst performance for us in three seasons.

Notwithstanding how badly we started the game that Team would compete in League 2. The front two were quite inexperienced (although Faal got 14 goals for Donnie and Walsall last year in L2) but apart from that all players who did well last year. Lee, Cannon and Evans would have a place in most L2 sides.

For Bolton I expect we will play more of our regular L1 starters- although we have an away game against Northampton a few days later we really will want to be winning. Our squad is deep enough at this point that we should be able to put out a strong team.

I'd actually rather face Birmingham than Wrexham. Parky won't piss about in the semis or final.

Likewise.

Birmingham home or away. I’ve never been to St. Andrew’s. Sure we’d take a few thousand down.

Brum will shift whatever we give ‘em - prob the entire Midland Road (4,300ish).

In a draw that will shock absolutely no-one, Birmingham and Wrexham have been kept apart in the semis.

Birmingham away for us.

Their fans are already booking Wembley. I expect us to lose this one but their arrogance is on another level.

I’ve just been reading it on Twitter and talked about it on Bantam talk. No matter how favourites they are they’re looking like a right bunch of wankers. It’s not that often that we’ll be the neutral’s favourite in the lower leagues, but we definitely will be next week.

The way they're going on you'd think it's like us lining up v Liverpool.

Yes they're top of the league above. Yes they've paid serious dollar for their squad. Yes they are the favourites.

But it's still a L1v L2 team in the EFL trophy. Hope we somehow wipe the smiles of their smug, arrogant faces.

Chuffed with the draw away to Brum. New ground for me.

We’ve shifted 2,000 in 24 hour. Looking forward to it.

Birmingham City (a) - looking forward to this one. It has a big game feel to it, but we go into it with zero expectation - all the pressure is on them.

Fair few of ours are cup-tied. I’m not sure whether Jack Shepherd is available following his red card against Newport at the weekend. Something is telling me he is, as this isn’t the FA Cup? I might’ve made this up.

GK: Sam Walker

CB: Aden Baldwin
CB: Jack Shepherd/Paul Huntington
CB: Romoney Crichlow

RWB: Brad Halliday
LWB: Tyreik Wright

CM: Ritchie Smallwood
CM: Alex Pattison

AM: Antoni Sarcevic
AM: Bobby Pointon/Jamie Walker

ST: Calum Kavanagh

Wright, Pattison and Kavanagh were rested at the weekend, so they should be fresh.

It’s a tall ask to go to Brum, infront of packed St.Andrews and get something. But it’s a semi-final infront of the cameras - owt could happen. We’ve gone away to the likes of Wrexham and Derby last season and turned teams like this over. I’m sure Birmingham fans are wanking themselves silly over the thought of little Bradford buckling under the pressure of playing infront of a large crowd. But the reality is, a lot of our squad have played at Valley Parade infront of 20,000-22,500+ before.

I can see us scoring first then losing 3/4-1. But then again, there’s something about this squad this season which makes me think we’ll go all the way.

2,800 City in attendance.

Felt like an embarrassingly rigged draw to keep Wrexham and Birmingham apart and even more so to give both home ties. More than likely we’ll get pumped (Reading in the 1/4 finals of the FA cup feels) but if a minor miracle happens, 0-1 Sarcevic.

5-0 Birmingham. Losing sets us on another bad run, culminating with us hanging on in 7th place before finishing 9th. Back to normality. Back to misery. Wohooo.

How is it rigged? We had as much chance to draw them as anyone left in it. Why did Bradford draw the only U21 team left in the competition in the round of 16?- clearly the pro-Bradford bias to give them an easy route through to the quarter finals.

Don't buy in to the nonsense.

He's right, it was rigged, but not for the reason he thinks.

Sky have an hour-long special on Phil Parkinson ready to roll out for the Wrexham v Bradford final.
