Lost 3-2. Barrow deserved to win it in the end. Think there’s lots we can take from it but the younger lads seemed to run out of steam after acquitting themselves well for a good while. Enjoyable game though. Hopefully for Barrow they get something decent next round.

Amos will want that back on their equaliser for definite.

Well played much better than Saturday especially after Bradford missed their pen, probably because the players realised they were playing against 12 men so had to step it up a notch.

Game of two halves and one spectacularly bad keeper.
Pretty pissed off to lose that from totally dominant position.

Lost 9-8 on pens - see you at the end of the month with a strong XI, Mariners! ;)

A totally different Harrogate turned up tonight. Being rock solid at the back allowed them to soak up the pressure from Lincoln and provided a platform for the central midfield players to go forward. Folarin and Daly looked sharp up front and scored two well worked goals.

Enjoyed that largely and another good night for our academy with how many featured which is always positive. Could tell the desire was different when they throw in Telford and Aquah and we throw on a youth striker, if we throw on Hall and Hennigan to see it out at 2-1 we probably go through, that said Amos cost us, but would rather find out who should be our number one tonight than in the league.

Sang had a decent cameo which was pleasing, think once the Pizza Cup is out the way we try and get some of the younger lads a decent loan to build but plenty of positives.

To not play a single first choice player in any of the 11 positions until Croasdale came on with 5 minutes to go and go toe to toe with a fairly full strength side that was in and around the play offs all season bodes well.

We had our fun in this last year… detrimentally in the end and only one thing that matters to us this season so hopefully Barrow get a more plumb tie than we managed in 5 rounds last season and make a few bob.

Lost 2-1 away at Derby, no shame in that especially considering we made a few changes & gave some of our attacking squad players a go.

The bigger worry is that Mandeville has picked up an ankle injury in training but not sure on extent of it, Colclough’s hamstrings are being ‘nursed’ (fit enough to be on the bench tonight though), Tanton came off at HT (fingers crossed that was planned), and last but definitely not least, Tom Naylor seems to have rolled his ankle after a heavy tackle and had to come off in the 2nd half (they scored 1 minute after).

Positives are that Dunkley & Gordon looked very good again, Oldaker excellent again, and Dobra was my MOTM and got another goal. Fingers crossed the injuries aren’t too bad. Overall, I’d have taken a respectable 2-1 loss before the game definitely

Meh. Lost on pens at Grimsby after changing half the team from the weekend.

Play them again in a couple of weeks but will be a much different team.

Slocombe now 0/27 for saving penalties as a Notts ‘keeper. Quite impressive for one not to have just hit him at some point.

Don’t particularly care about the Carabao, but very annoying to lose it from a position of total dominance, and even more so in a way that was just all very last season.

Comfortably dispatched Accrington 3-0 and missed a penalty too. We made 7 changes from the weekend whereas they only made 4. We were in control from minute 1 and never really had to get out of first gear. Our squad depth is much better this season which is a big plus.

On a side note I’d be very worried if I was an Accrington supporter. They were honking.

Hopefully a nice reward in Round 2!

Gave a good account of ourselves with what was essentially an under 23s team against strong L1 opposition. Scored a great goal from Matus Holicek, but switched off to give away 2 cheap headed goals.

Probably for the best in the long run, gives us a mostly free set of midweeks now to get players fit and try and get some results in the league.

Sames. We're a couple of players short but with everyone fit I'd say only 4 of our line up are concrete first choice (McJannet,.McEachran, Davies and Vernam). That said, on his first 2 appearances Khouri is making himself hard to drop and on that performance I think Warren will continue at right back

The next game will have a very different feel to it. Sky probably knocked off at least 1000 off tonight's attendance. Had a preseason feel. Very happy to have won though, played well in the first half with some neat, crisp passing. Second half rode our luck a bit, your changes making a big difference, though Green had a decent chance for us which your keeper did well to just tip wide. Eastwood had a good game in goal for us, except for your goal, which he should've done better with. Redeemed himself with 2 pen saves. Vernam giving your lot the shhhh was classic ex-player shenanigans

Cracking first half from Notts, Shrewsbury hardly had a kick. The players change but the comedy defending is back and we let them back in it.

There’s the old cliche around football about certain players having kompromat on owners or managers to keep getting picked but I’m absolutely sure Sam Slocombe has a shed load on someone. If I was picking a Sunday league team and knew he was available I think I would move on to my mate Dave who’s only got one arm and can’t even play Sundays before I’d give Safehands a call.

Deservedly won 2-0 with 10 changes from Saturday that would have been 11 if Lawlor had been fit

That's really surprising to hear, he was good at them here.

Saved 5 in 1 season for us

Comfortable night v the MK Dons save for 15 minutes after half time when they made 3 changes which had a positive impact until we scored the 3rd.

Keeper wasn’t great has to be said.

Not sure if it's because there was no real stress about the result but that's the most I've enjoyed a Barrow game for a good while. Both teams having a go, no issues with the ref who let the game flow, no moments of controversy and no needle whatsoever between the sides.

Thought we ran out deserved winners in the end, but as I said earlier I thought Vale had some useful players in there should you need to call on them throughout the season.

Hopefully we can get a good away draw at a Northern PL side for the coffers, and give a better account of ourselves than we did in getting pumped 6-0 by Villa the other year.

Not sure we learnt much from that despite all the chaos, still think players came out of it with credit even though we’ve conceded 3.

Slocombe just needs to retire, it’s ridiculous at this point - if Bass gets injured you might as well relegate us he’s that comically bad.

Agreed, think you bringing on Acquah was a game changer. We struggled with his physicality up top then. Said it at half time Kouyate looks a player, if he can stack them sort of games together consistently he will be a serious weapon to have at this level.

Good news for us Benicio who went off at half time DM has confirmed it was a planned sub as he was really good first half for us.

Yep really liked the look of Kouyate. Plant had a rough night.

A terrific battling performance from Fleetwood, a well deserved win against a youthful West Brom side. I can't remember the last time I saw Fleetwood win 2 successive home games, surreal !
We looked really good at the back, some excellent defending, Holgate, Medley, Wiredu, stand out players and Broom gave a MOM display. Great stuff from the Cods

We couldn't even fill the subs bench this evening, only 7. Showed in the second half when Bradford could bring on some more beef and we had youth players to choose from.

The coming up League game will obviously be very different, but a win 9-8 on penalties will have done a did of confidence building and belief Artell Ball might be working, as we passed the ball around nicely at times tonight.

I’m curious to know if Bradford had their best team out, can anybody confirm?

Obviously I'm interesting ahead of Saturday to see what your injury situation is like and Cook says Mandeville will be out for a period of time whilst he's more optimistic on the other 3. So, could be playing you lot at the right time maybe.

Decent enough game which Barrow deserved to edge in the end, with the caveat that we made 9 changes from the weekend, playing a few youth players and reserves, whereas Barrow were virtually full strength. Kouyate looks a very good signing, and the big lad that came on was a real handful. Barrow have got a few half decent players but I wager with our first eleven we would have the edge....we'll see in 10 days.

I think the one thing we have learnt is that they like to get it wide and get plenty of balls into the box. With better midfielders in there such as Garrity, Croasdale or even Byers, I think we stop a lot of that before it has started. Unfortunately we had asthmatic snail Lowe in the middle.

Much better than Saturday, though we are so open and better teams than Bradford will have a field day. Think the football is pretty decent but fairly predictable, but I'm willing to give it a chance and would love some humble pie.

Been most impressed with the two new Maccas so far, both miles better footballers than the players they have replaced. Will be a very different game in a few weeks with both teams having missing/rested players in from the start.

Respect to Smallwood for showing solidarity with us fans about the penalty incident, rightfully skying it. Thought Oduor was the pick of the Bradford lot tonight.

Smallwood’s solidarity with opponents would go a long way to explaining why he’s the worst set piece taker we’ve ever had.
