Well what can you say?

We usually get one of these mad away games once a season.

Credit to Bayo - so clinical.

TBH it sounded like we weren't that great first half but 2 penalties so quickly deflated you.

Unbelievable that Bayo has managed to score 4 goals. Looked awful at our place!
He is pretty rubbish really.

Tries hard and moves around but never looks like scoring.

Only scored 3 goals in a year!

TBH as Tea Towel says SW could have been 2 up or so at half time but we just got away with it or managed to turn in a performance after the break.

Scoring 2 goals so quickly no doubt boosted the confidence.

We are 5th but not sure we played like a top 6 side - got to take it though!

You managed to put in a performance away from home finally as well though. You’ve really had some strange games this year

West Brom are 6th and I thought they were pretty poor on Friday night, not that we were very good either. I don’t think you have to THAT good to be in and around the playoffs this year it seems to me (which makes us look all the worse)

I think from our games this year, the only two teams I’ve thought really played us off the park are Leeds and Sunderland who are coincidentally the top two. Burnley were decent but not on the same level as the other two

This league is wide open if someone can put a good run together

EDIT - seems strange saying that after 2-6 tonking! But as Super Horns says, should have been up at half time but the two penalties 5 minutes made our heads fall off

Yes agree not too many really good teams this season.

Or ones in consistent form.

Play-offs could be competitive in terms of the last 2 positions.

Still probably be the 3 relegated sides and Sunderland as the top 4 though.

Absolutely robbed by the officials yet again, but still a shite defensive performance.

Perfectly good goal disallowed at Burnley to deny us 2pts and Bristol City gifted the lead by a blatant handball.

If every club doesn't have VAR then the Prem shouldn't. Elitism.

The handball by Yu was unbelieveable, can believe the officials didnt spot that. Even looked pretty sheepish running off celebrating

Side point i noticed watching the highlights this morning: whats with all the Japanese players now suddenly at this level?

Feels like there are suddenly loads of them now, Yu at Bristol City, Hashioka here, Sakamoto at Coventry, Saito at QPR, Ohashi at Blackburn, Tanaka at Leeds and pretty sure Stoke have a Japanese too. Easier to get Work Permits for them post Brexit or what?

The amount of times you’ve shithoused us over the years, I think we were due a shocker in our favour.

Don't remember us ever being gifted a goal for nothing.

Should probably be a retrospective ban for the Japanese guy for cheating.

Glass houses and all that. I remember Ched Evans punching Alex Scott when the ball was gone, Cunningham being the c*** that he is, Daniel Johnson feigning a head injury at every opportunity.

Bottom of the fair play table for a reason.

Probably right with that last line.

Certainly got away with one there.

You been festering over that for years? Evans clearly didn't punch anyone or he'd have got a retrospective ban.

Wouldn't class game management, that single club does, as flat out cheating like the guy on Saturday.

He certainly punched something on this occasion…

The fact that you signed this c*** in the first place sums you lot up anyway.

Eh? It rebounds off his shoulder. It hits Riis's hand.

And, ha, are you still at school? Guy was acquitted yet served years anyway. Was a good player and character here, glad he's still on the coaching team.

After Saturday's goal fest probably 0-0 or 1-0...

Sunderland tomorrow, I'd be surprised if we get anything, although I do expect their form to drop off at some point.

Seeing Browne in another shirt will be bizarre.

Bristol City in very good form at the moment.

We are 1-0 down as predicted and not had a shot on goal so gone back to type I guess.

Need a big change in the last half an hour.

Much, much the better team, should be at least 2 up, we'll obviously get punished in the 2nd half now.

Currently 6th and 22nd are separated by just 7 points and we're nearly a third of the way through the season.

Very tight .

Maybe a good point in isolation, but we should have won that despite Sunderland having more of the ball after half time.

Osmajic best make a storming comeback to make up for these missed games. He's cost us.

We just needed a win tonight by any means necessary and we did so there’s that - but it was a really poor game once again. Was only ever going to be a set piece goal as we didn’t look like we had much clue what we were trying to do otherwise.

After that Adebayo and Baptiste coming on gave us a little bit of a lift but the quality in the attacking third is so poor. No interplay or clear understanding of what we are trying to do.

Wins a win though and there’s not many games this season we can say we have genuinely limited team to nothing in attack other so that’s also a positive.

Pompey away. I absolutely guarantee we'll lose after I called them shit the other week. It's nailed on.

Think this is the last match of Osmajic's ban. It's safe to say the nob head has cost us points, he'd 100% finish some of the chances we've missed. Plus Keane is injured so we have nothing on the bench to change shape.

Lindsay went off injured so Whatmough might start against his old club. Brady, Keane, and Bauer injured too.

Woodman
Storey - Whatmough - Hughes
Potts - Whiteman - McCann - KKH
Frokjaer
Greenwood, Riis

I don't like to use this as an excuse, but Luton's schedule this week is ridiculous. I guess it evens itself out throughout the season for everyone, but doesn't make it right.

I live about 20 miles from Kenilworth Road. In traffic, I didn't get home until gone 11pm last night. The players have to get showered, changed and deal with all their media and club duties. Most presumably live a long way further than I do.

Luton travel to Middlesbrough this weekend for a 1230 kick off. Presumably today was a recovery day with a session tomorrow morning with travel in the afternoon to cover opposition tactics maybe, arriving maybe in time for a late dinner before an early kick-off the next day.

Some of the staff stayed at the training ground last night because of the tight turnaround.

Clearly this is a big match - how can you actually prepare for this?

Without wising to go all Jurgen Klopp about it too, but..... Its also a bit silly that Middlesborough have an extra days prep time over us as they played Tuesday night and its not a 3pm but a 12:30 kick off. When its such a short turn around time between games that is actually a meaningful difference in terms of feeling prepared for the game.

If we had both played Wednesday night then fair enough, its still a silly short prep time but at least is equal.

Its the second away game in a row where we go into it with a days less preparation time AND it be one of these 12:30 kick offs. That quite clearly had a material impact on the Convetry game too.

We absolutely must beat Preston on Saturday or else we're gone. We really should have beaten Hull and Plymouth on balance of play but we simply don't have a striker to put the ball in the net and our defenders are all capable of making a costly mistake.

I can see the crowd turning on the owners if we end up losing but a draw isn't enough either. If we can't beat Preston at home, who can we beat?

One of the most predictable results of the season although Burnley will feel hard done by with the disallowed goal.

As for us Oxford tomorrow and it's at home so a good chance to win you think.

Only real derby in the Championship takes place this weekend, last 3 have been bore fest goalless draws, going more in hope than expectation but football is a funny old game.
