Not confident going there tonight

Quick turnaround after Tuesday, long trip and they’re bottom… it’s got a defeat written all over it
Thought you'd be dark horses this year but seems Rohl wasn't backed well enough.

Aye it’s been largely underwhelming, I think most had high expectations but not sure how realistic they actually were

Rohl has to shoulder some of the blame for the bad start particularly early on in the S’land/Leeds/Millwall defeats but he’s 34 in his first job so there will be ups and downs

Last season's Pompey side wins that game tonight. But this team looks devoid of any fight and any real quality when it matters.

A quarter of the season gone and we look like relegation certainties already. How fucking depressing.

I think a better side would have probably been 2 up at half time tonight. Wednesday were really poor but the subs turned it around and we bossed most of the second half. A goal worthy of winning any game from Smith of all people!

Away to Coventry this lunchtime for us. 3rd game in the week so you wonder if we can keep the way we have played in the most recent 2 games going. We’ve been heavy pressing and aggressive, almost to a more extreme degree than what we were a couple of years ago.

Both sides not really living up to pre season expectations thus far. Really surprised by Coventry, thought they would be very strong. A few weeks ago I thought whoever lost this might be looking for a new manager but I think with us reverting to what we are good and showing some signs of life, and the Watford win, Edwards has earned himself a fair bit more time as long as we don’t revert back to pre-international break style

Luton are 2-0 up at HT. Don’t ask me how because right now it’s daylight robbery.

Funny old game. Played pretty well in the week and lost, getting pretty dominated here and 2-0 up. A definite penalty and a really good bit of quality from Krauss for adebayo to score but that aside, we’ve been up against it

Definitely not over yet, there’s goals in this for Coventry for sure and you’d think if they play like that second half eventually they will get one and build momentum from there

Nailed on your bottle would go when Coventry got one back, watched the first ten minutes of the second half and Coventry players body language was atrocious, you only to ride that out a bit longer.

Yep think every fan of every team has seen that game were you are 2-0 up but never really earned it and you just KNOW if one goes in the rest would follow.

Just never had any sort of control of the midfield in the game and we couldn’t find any solution for that.

Another slightly fortunate win but 3 points and seems we can take a penalty at least .

Defence was fairly solid although still looked weak in attack .

Too many wasted final balls and we struggle physically.

Was an absolute circus of a second half. But in some minds, because we beat Watford everything is gravy.

Game management non-existent and the manner of the Doughty yellow card and the Holmes red, knowing we were already short in defence is just nuts. Add in the Liam Walsh red earlier in the season - it is clear the players need a real kick up the arse, and not just a 1 week thing. Even Nakamba turning up without his shirt on gives the feeling that some players need a bit of a sharp reminder.

Edwards is taking most of the blame but there’s plenty to go around at the moment. We looked tired and leggy today even first half. Was going to criticise the fact he didn’t freshen it up after 2 big efforts in recent games where we’ve gone with a more physical pressing approach.

Then I looked at the bench. Only Nakmaba and (and possibly Brown although the issues are further back than the forward line imo) providing an option for him. The rest aren’t really players I’d fancy to come on and change anything. The injuries in defence are one thing but the recruitment since promotion has been very, very poor indeed and the squad is not in a good state. I am really not sure what Edwards could have done today to stem the tide and give us greater control in the game given those options. Nakamba eventually did come on and I immediately saw why he hadn’t done it earlier as he was clearly not fit.

Coventry, struggling themselves, had a bench containing much greater depth, Rudoni, Torp - who actually did change the game and then DaSilva, Mason-Clark, Thomas-Asante is significantly better than anything we had available. Think that reflects very poorly on the club

Unbelievable collapse, actually, no, very believable with these defenders.

Rudoni coming on at LWB was inspired by Robins

Norwich v Boro was an excellent game.

You had the sublime and the ridiculous in terms of goals there.

Sainz with 2 crackers and a great break away goal by Boro but also awful goalkeeping.

Bristol City at home, would be very disappointed not to win.

Osmajic, Keane, and Brady will be missing.

I thought Okkels did well last night and wouldn't mind him getting a start in this one. Fitness levels looked good.

Woodman
KKH - Storey - Lindsay - Hughes
McCann - Whiteman
Potts - Frokjaer - Okkels
Riis
Should be fresh enough as we rotated plenty last night.

We are up shit creek for tomorrow night with WBA. Have I think 1 available centre half and Doughty is suspended.

Barring a miracle recovery or us wheeling out an actually injured player I’m not sure what we are actually able to do. Probably be McGuinness and Hashioka and I guess we have to go to a back 4. Joe Johnson i guess will have to play at LB, which is going to be such an exploitable weakness for us. Don’t blame the kid he’s just very obviously not ready.

Confidence is absolute rock bottom and I can only see one outcome. People will be calling for Edwards to go after it I imagine but I really think he has such limited options at the moment that I’m not really sure what people expect

You've probably got West Brom at a good time, struggling to win and create chances.

Maybe, but the problem is we are also the perfect “get right” game for them in that sense too. Threadbare, low confidence, and the supporters very close to turning on the manager and team (if they aren’t there already)

You need to pretend you are playing us each week!

Mind you these teams don’t play injured players and have a striker worthy of the name .

Team wasn’t quite as depleted as we thought as we took chances on Bell and Mengi. Mengi was clearly only partially fit at best so fair play to him for going out there.

Truely awful game though by 2 really poor looking sides. Point probably fair, bit of brilliance from Chong aside we never looked any sort of threat at all. Really not much to like about us, not great defensively and going forward no one looks comfortable.

But we didn’t lose. Cardiff on Wednesday is massive though, we need a win there
