I'm not putting the competition down, just the fact that this season hasn't finished yet so people will be predicting a team to finish somewhere in L2 who will not even be in this league after next weekend duh.
You're just fuming no one has Carlisle for automatics.

That's right and someone even had us to finish bottom! Cheeky little sod.

I've noticed people still predicting the likes of Accrington and Morecambe to go down when they never do and never come close to going down, even though they should. It's the same every time they're in L2.

Have you seen Carlisle play lately?

Yes, but..

Has it not occurred to you that Carlisle have new wealthy American owners who now have their first full summer transfer window and have made it clear that promotion is our only target next season?

What anyone saw of us lately is irrelevant because soon we'll have a squad of new players who will walk into any team in this league.

So future unknown, unnamed players that would walk into any team?

You signing a better goalscorer than Langstaff? Better wide man than Jodi Jones? And that's just one team in this league.

Can't wait to see who you sign.

Having finished 2nd last year and I waited till August to predict, my method is also tried and tested. Too much of a crapshoot now. Watch as some bonkers billionaire from Kiribati takes over Colchester in the coming weeks or Morecambe end up having to field an entire team of 17 year olds after the full extent of their skintness is revealed.
That was the table before bonus points and late deductions so you actually had about 750 points deducted for predicting so late.
Wait, the above counts as my main go?
Yep.
It's a bit fucking stupid to start a prediction league for next season when this season hasn't even finished!!!

There's still a play off winner to be concluded yet who won't even be in this league next season, dummies.
That's why you get extra points for predicting early.

Don’t take anything Carver says seriously.

In his head Kylian Mbappe has announced he’s leaving PSG because he’s been sold the Cumbrian dream and believes in the Carlisle United project

Trust me I don't, or even close. I just enjoy highlighting how absurd and laughable lots of it is.

Mine is based on the assumption we keep Darrell Clarke. If he goes, then we'll be lower mid-table.

Honestly I'd rather have people predict us for relegation.

1) It's who we are, we're an unfashionable side and are nearly always expected to struggle, just makes it sweeter when we do well

2) Think how smug you can be if we do get promoted (again) and everyone's said we'll get relegated (again)

3) It keeps HG quiet if people aren't predicting us to do better than he predicts

4) Rather that than a Mansfield or a Bradford being tipped for promotion season after season without actually going up.

We'd always been unfashionable and tinpot because we never had any spending power and ambitious visionary owners until now.

I just had a look at something as I was intrigued - in 5 seasons only 2 teams (Bolton /Bristol Rovers ) relegated from league 1 have gone straight back up at the first time of asking from league 2 . So statistically at least it's unlikely more than 1 (at most ) of the relegated teams will go straight back up .

*As one of the 7 who predicted Crewe to win the playoffs in that thread it would be remiss of me not to stick with them now they're in the final.

Just to help you all out. We will finish higher than the 10th we did this year. Most likely top 7.
