I reckon Donny will be heavily fancied but I'm not sure it will go aswell for them as people will expect having two close to 40 year olds as star players either end of the pitch seems a bit of a stretch to me - Clifton and Sbarra on paper are good signings on paper but both have only done well in the NL for the majority of their careers . I am interested to see how it goes there as I like McCann as a manager + it was good how their fans & board stuck with him through a long bad patch but I'm not sure they make top 7 .

We certainly aren’t dependent upon Wood and Sharp. Wood made a massive difference in the second half of last season when he came back from injury. We have Ironside so Sharp will have to be at the top of his game to oust him, Miller and Close will be like having 2 new players next season, we’ve added pace in Gibson and then we got Yeboah on loan which has totally bemused Bristol City fans as they fully expected him to be in their first team squad. I know we will be far fitter this season and McCann told all the contracted players at the season end that he wanted to win the league next season and if you aren’t up to it don’t come back. He’s got the players he wants early, they’ve all been given individual plans to follow before returning for pre season so if we don’t go up it won’t be for the lack of planning

Just had quick peruse through this thread and spotted somebody challenged English Red & Chief on adding promoted Crawley to their prediction while forgetting Doncaster.
Have their predictions been updated?

I quite fancy Swindon and Tranmere to do well this season, which means those two will probably be relegated.

MK, Donny, Notts, Port Vale, Chesterfield fighting for the top three.

Yeah think Adkins is a decent manager , att this level a decent manager seems to be more important than players to an extent . I agree with Swindon higher mid table now i reckon , signed loads of lumps which should suit league 2 if they play to their strengths

You’re right about the ‘lumps’ - we must be the biggest (as in height) team in L2. After seasons of tippy tappy nonsense I’m quite looking forward to being more agricultural and physical.

Anyone could have a good season and challenge this season. Chesterfield are no Wrexham or Stockport.

I don’t like tipping my own team for promotion, so I’ll go for Bradford, Donny, Wimbledon and Tranny.

Found it interesting reading peoples thoughts on how we’ll do next year. Honestly I cannot remember a time I felt this at ease / content going into a new season as I do right now. For the past god knows how many years the pressure has just felt immense, every year feeling like it’s ’now or never’ to go on and get promotion.

But honestly this year, just genuinely looking forward to being back in and amongst it facing proper sides week in week out rather than being every fuckers cup final every week in the division below, where anything but a win for us feels like the end of the world. The only expectation from our fan base is to go on and be competitive next year, there’s no real talk of ‘back to back promotions’ or whatever, just more of a ‘have a go and see what happens’ type of mentality.

Loads of positive things happening off the field at the moment with the best owners that we’ve had in my life time (and probably before that too). Training grounds had some much needed investment, the academy has regained its EPPP status now we’re back in the EFL and now the stadiums had a bit of TLC too and now looking the best it has since it opened.

Everyone from the boardroom down to the fans seem to be singing off the same hymn sheet at the moment and long may it continue. Quietly confident that we’ll surprise a few next year as the new additions look to have improved (on paper) what was already a very good team, but as I said, just happy to be amongst and see what happens (as long as we don’t get dragged into any kind of relegation scrap of course!).

I reckon you will go well whether that equates to a go at the top 7 I'm not sure but I think you will do pretty good , as I think Bromley will do better than many will suggest . Both got decent managers aswell even if Cook and Woodman's style of football are very different .

Has a team actually ever been relegated first season up from the NL ?

Every team I can think of has always done well to ok .

I'm not sure about Bromley, plastic pitch gone and Michael Cheek another year older, think they may struggle.

This was really tough as in reality anywhere from 16th up could be interchangeable.

I think it’s more a reflection of the off the field uncertainty right now. Does seem to be the tendency that if a club has them sort of issues it’s usually them that drop to the fifth tier. If anyone can keep you up it’s Adams though.

All these PM's asking when I'm doing mine because people want to put a bet on.

Patience.

There could well be a few shocks this year. I might release them in batches so 24-17 16-8 7-1 to promote the content and give everyone a chance to see it live.
