Gillingham hadn't won in 50 games and we roll into town. The 1-0 defeat and shit performance was so obvious, that I didn't bother watching. From what's been said though, we were awful.

Derek's stubborness to change things is killing us at the moment. The one man who needs to be consistent is making some odd decisions atm. Poor lineups, outcasting our best midfielder, late subs and a complete lack of width is happening at the wrong time. It's all gone to pot since the Accy win.

This loss feels like the killer blow.
To be honest mate, your lot were pretty poor on Saturday, and yea, it was our first win in 14 games.

whilst there's still a long way to go the 6 point gap from Accrington to the bottom 3 is starting to look very significant.

Fucking hope so. We’ve engineered ourselves into this picture with 2 wins in 17. We haven’t had a shot on target for the last 2 matches. That would be a start…

I agree with this and Accrington have a game in hand too. If only we’d managed to take something from our recent home game with Stanley the picture might be less bleak. Though we’d have been stuck with Adkins so swings and roundabouts…

I can’t see Rovers taking much from the next couple of games; Bromley H and Bradford A so heading into the end of March we are likely to be bottom two.

To be fair gillingham and no dons are more likely the ones of any outside the top 3 to drop.

Both seem in such dire form and confidence I don’t see either grabbing much and it’s more for them have they enough

For those two to be down there with their budgets is appalling. Carlisle too of course but it's sometimes hard to turn around bad form after a relegation so at least there is a bit of a reason there. MK and Gills should both be challenging for promotion.

What's this I keep seeing about Gillingham should be challenging at the top? Their squad is fucking dire?

At least MK have decent players. They've just massively fucked it up throughout the season.

Two of four I reckon. Accy looked poor today, had to leave on 60 mins but apart from a chance which produced an excellent save from Farman, barely threatened.

Big win for Tranmere. Wouldn't surprise me if they beat us next week.

Tranmere got a nice little bounce since Crosby took over. They gave us a tough time last Saturday and seem to be backing it up and that’s a quality win against Bromley. Pleased for Crosby who is a likeable chap.

Are there any deluded Carlisle fans still thinking we can get out of this?

This team is so predictably shit.

Not a great week for the bottom 2. Whilst Carlisle get a respectable point against Walsall, a defeat at Harrogate, in what looked to be a winnable game, is a hammer blow for them. Morecambe get a good home win over Wimbledon, but then can't hold on to a lead against MK Dons, which is not ideal at this stage of the season.

Tranmere get a massive win and they've now taken 5 points from 3 games under Andy Crosby to move themselves a little bit clear of danger, but they're still in trouble. Accy got a midweek win over MK Dons, but then lost to Barrow. They should be fine, but they'll need some more wins. Harrogate are doing what they need to do to get over the line as they always do and Gillingham are showing small signs of improvement after back to back home wins. MK also pick up a big win and Newport are back in the bottom 8 despite a midweek win as their away form continues to be very poor.

You feel time is running out for the bottom 2, neither look to have enough goals or quality to drag themselves clear at this point. Be interesting to see if anything changes.

Looking at the run ins of all these teams, I can't really say one team has it easier or harder than the others. Carlisle have some favourable home games, but tough away games. Looks really balanced though, which will make things interesting.

Forthcoming Fixtures:

Tuesday 8th March
Accrington Stanley
v Newport County

Saturday 15th March
Accrington Stanley
v Gillingham
Bradford City v Tranmere Rovers
Carlisle United
v AFC Wimbledon
Morecambe v Barrow
Newport County
v Harrogate Town

Accrington could solidify their L2 status with 4-6 points this week. Newport could do the same. Few 6 pointers at the weekend, if Morecambe can find a way to beat Barrow and Tranmere lose at Bradford, then that'll really spice things up.

I hope we burst their little bubble next weekend. Despite all our injuries, we should have enough to beat them

That scumbag who got sentenced for posting vile comments about the Bradford fire was NOT a Tranmere supporter and the club have demanded that Merseyside Police apologise for associating the club with him.

Because of the money they've spent over the last few years, and the comments from their owner about them being sleeping giants etc.
