Seems that the table is starting to settle down now bar one or two teams I don’t see much else changing from now until the end of the season.

Yeah I'm not sure about that, there's only 5 teams who haven't missed a fixture and majority are on 8 games or under, there's no chance that Woking, Wealdstone AND Maidenhead finish in the top 7 at the end of the season, absolute zero.

We were nowhere near are best today but definitely deserved the win. We even blazed a penalty in second half over. Wild seems to set up defensive most the times. When they did come at us in the second half for a while looked useful.
Yup. Even at The Shay, last man is 10 yards inside our own half when we have a free kick in the other half of the pitch. Jake Hyde seems to be playing in midfield, a big hole in the team where the front 2 ought to be. It's a shame because we're generally competing very well, but we'll keep on losing by the odd goal until we start getting men into the opposition box. :dk:

Yes not completely awful, given the conditions. Both teams had the same issue really with nothing up front. One moment of quality from Young being the difference.
Seems like every game we win comes from a flash moment of brilliance from Durrell or Young. Good players to be fair.

Stockport County.
Some teams will have played 5 or 6 games more than us by the time we next play. I don't think our place in the table will take shape until after the winter period to be honest.

I think Solihull will be in similar position.

The fact that Tom Denton is second top scorer with 7 goals. Doesnt say a lot for this league.

How concerned are you? I personally thought you are the worst team we've faced all season. What's going on there?

We've been close to winning on a few occasions and yesterday was the first time we've lost by more than one goal, but the performances have got steadily worse. The biggest problem is our lack of goals which wasn't a issue last season. I genuinely think on paper we have a decent squad but their confidence is shot. I don't want our manager to go but something serious is needed to stop the rot.

Thank goodness, or we would never score. Absolutely nothing in the final third again yesterday.

Still confident about that title decider against Project County on the final day?

Maybe they had a bit of a sacked manager bounce today, I thought they were okay. That said, Roberts had already hit the post and shot when he could’ve squared for a tap in by the time we scored, so it could’ve been all over by the time they equalised and came back into it.

Clough attended, I suppose he could have just fancied it being local but if he’s definitely after a few changes in January and I doubt anybody in Chesterfield pitiful squad takes his fancy.

Was watching Roberts from County I believe.

As for us - I think we are in trouble. Budgets not tiny, but is tied up on a handful of players given big, long deals under Martin Allen so without going beyond our means we will struggle.

We should have had anything from 4 to 9 points in the last 7 days, we led all the games v Maidenhead, Alty and Notts County and conceded in 80+ min in all of them - goals a Alty and Notts County were all 90+ mins. We see those games out and get some points things probably don't look quite as grim, but it would be papering over the cracks..

We've let in 16 I think, and 8 have been in the last 10 minutes, so the new managers job is to find a defence that can concentrate for 90 mins, and a team that is fit enough to play 90 mins.

Rumours are the front runners include Steve Watson at York, Tim Flowers, Danny Wilson + even heard a wildcard in Graham Alexander, though that not happening. I'm not sure who i want, what we need or anything.

We've done 8 managers in 5 years - a mix of experienced (Martin Allen & Danny Wilson), fans favourites (Jack Lester, Danny Wilson and John Pemberton), complete wildcards (Dean Saunders, Gary Caldwell) and tried & tested (John Sheridan) and nothing has worked.

I worry for us because of the above, it's a really poor league so it wouldn't take much to get out of it but I'm not sure who have the nouse to do it.

Would be no surprise to see Roberts leave in Jan despite his new contract, he’s like a cheat code against National League full backs at times, but it wouldn’t be to a League Two club. Got Peterborough all over it.

Maybe he was hoping that random loanee we’ve got from you would get a game!?!

Actually, thinking about it, Boldewijn might be a possibility. In and out of the team, out of contract next summer so we’d probably sell for a fairly nominal fee and good enough to have something offer in League Two.

I gather Pete Wild has been mentioned. Unfortunately the majority of our fans are unredeemable idiots and would actually like to see the back of him, oddly believing that last season's play off place was unmerited-it's not their fault, this is just what happens when you make the play-offs every year, the fans start taking it as a given. Oh, wait!

We've done all that too. The answer usually lies with the incompetent people in the boardroom and the way the club is run from the top down.

Yeah I’m hoping the takeover has gotten us over that bump but we will see. The next appointment is huge
