Will we be the ones to put the final nail in the coffin of the golden Monkball era?

I would say anyone's best chance of beating us is to be a negative grindy "men behind the ball", big lads up front, win the set pieces kind of team.

But I don't think CUFC are that, or if they are, they're not very good at it, judging by their zero clean sheets in recent time.

We're OK going forward (averaging 2 goals a game) but a bit crap in defence.

Our home form takes care of itself, as I fancy anyone at home. We need a reset after Monday night so going to predict a 2-0 win. Can't see what Crawley are doing but they can get results themselves, but play that tippy tappy shit at the back and got caught out a few times last season. With having a squad overhaul as well, they should have better players but lets see how it pans out.

Hudders away. New ground for me, around 800 sold. Going up on the train (didn’t realise it would take 4 hours when it was suggested in our group) so any pub recommendations welcomed.

Also will make it easier when we inevitably get beat 3-0.

Head of steam located at the station is not bad for the first pint, the warehouse probably the best set up for the 12:30 game, if into craft beer the magic rock brewery is well rated, has decent food and lager for people like me.
Away fans get taken to the boy and barrel which I’ve not been but go there if you want singing. Loads of pubs in the town centre all walkable to the ground, only one that might be worth avoiding would be the Vulcan.

We have looked poor so far against teams that sit in, much better when we can press like Posh and Bolton away.

Early KO for us against Wigan, which I could do without.

I'm assuming Wigan are the same as last season and possession hungry so I doubt we'll see too much of the ball again, not that it really bothers us because Skubala is able to set us up in a similar way to Kennedy but be far more balanced and offer an attacking threat albeit it hasn't quite clicked as well as I think he'd like yet.

We had the luxury of leaving fit players out the squad last weekend - we'll see how long that lasts.

Thanks for all that mate, on the game, I think under Brady we tend to come and have a go at teams so probably won’t sit off

Whoever at Sky thought it would be a good idea to move us v Stevenage to an early kick off for their cameras is a bit coo-coo. Guess it will half Stevenage's away support to 75 rather than 150.

Barnsley at home. 10 goals conceded in a week. Hopefully moral is low and we can capitalise.
We are playing better but not winning. Need to start converting chances quickly.
Prediction 2-1 win

We've picked up some decent players but we still have a tendency to over elaborate. Look for Flint (lcb) Quiterna (rw) and Camara (everywhere). We can't score though. Need Swan to get going. I can't see us getting anything but hopefully we will not gift you 3 goals like last season.

Crawley had 72% possession at Wigan and lost 1-0

Can't see our game being a classic. Stevenage are always tricky and we are making too many mistakes at the moment. But we need to grind out a win here if we are looking at mid table rather than relegation form

So far we’ve managed to get points without playing particularly well against Stockport and Cambridge and at best Saturday will probably be the same again.

Other than upfront our midfield and defence options at the minute are actually worse than our side last season in L2, just got to keep trying to grind out the points until we get some of our better options back.

Swan always needs time to warm up, just got to trust him and keep giving him a chance then usually once he starts he gets a good return.

Nah, that honour is being saved for Lincoln at home, the traditional death knell for our managers.

Suspect we will not like your physicality, and we seem to have found two more important injuries in the last week, so should be fun for us.

Not looking forward to it in the slightest, Udoh is going bum the living fuck out of Rossi.

I said at the start of the season that with respect to the sides mentioned, home fixtures against burton, stockport, cambridge, shrewsbury then blackpool were always a “generous” set of games at field mill.

Had we had a top top side (again no disrespect to anyone mentioned) i think we’d have got battered.

Shrewsbury is another one of those games where we can look for a point or points, whereas like i said when we played cambridge they’d be looking to do the same.

Another win would be magical. Looks as if hurst (a manager who has never impressed me) looks like he’s on borrowed time also.

Stockport away for us, we will almost certainly play the XI which started the win against Reading last week after making ten changes for Tuesday. This game always the priority.

Sean Clare played in central midfield last week and did well, his power and experience helped steady us.

The fact that we was able to bring on Dominic Ball, Jordan Graham & Jack Simpson to help us see out the win shows we do have experience in our squad - but we are woefully short up front with Sonny Perkins in particular almost certainly going back to Leeds in January because he has been hopeless for us.

Last week was a team effort and we had the luck on our side finally, we will do what we usually do keep possession for a period of the game and maybe force a chance or two, but our attacking decision making is frustatrating and we over play alot.

Louie Barry will prove to be a tough test for the way Wellens plays IMO.

Can't see us taking too many to this, £72 being the cheapest price on the train (and thats with a railcard) has put alot off. Only sold around 200 I believe.

Crawley at home. We normally react well the game after a defeat so expecting a reasonable performance. Tricky game though, Crawley manager is very good, wouldn't be shocked if he took a bigger job before the end of the season

Rovrum away.

nervous about this purely because we hardly ever do well there, like ive been there twice and once we made Richard Wood play like prime fat Ronaldo.

Great away day but results have been less than stellar, Evans reverse psychology by spending every interview by blowing smoke up our arses, we wont fall for that.

It will be a tough match and hope we can get another win.

We need a win, any kind of lucky, scrappy win would do but I think the best we can hope for is a draw.

We play well in patches, make loads of decent chances and then fail to take them and end up dropping points we should have won.

Birmingham looked pretty good against Wrexham so I go more in hope than expectation.

I hope you enjoy your visit but not too much hopefully.

Really like the place and the location, decent boozers around and easy to get to.

Evans will have something up his sleeve just hope we can deal with that.

So we have lost another of our key players, Josh Stokes out for 6 weeks. Our injury situation is just bonkers. I hate to say it but I think we are doomed already. Really feel for Monk, unlike others I think he is good for us, and is trying to do the right things, just hamstrung by injuries and dodgy recruitment. Think this will be the first game where we will get torn apart, 5-1 chairboys with them getting an og for our goal. The thought of Udoh against our defence terrifies me, and then there’s the lad that got 4 goals on Tuesday on the bench (shudders).

A lot of visiting fans drop off in Sheffield and get the tram through to Rotherham in time for the kick off and are happy doing that.

But there are quite a few decent pubs that are not home fans only, obviously the local Spoons is always popular but there are some old style boozers on Westgate that take decent away fans and it's pretty much only a 5-10 minute walk to the stadium from any pub in the town centre.

The beer prices are also cheaper in Rotherham so that's a welcome bonus when going to football costs so much these days.

We have had a few injuries but it sounds like everyone will be ok except Andre Green (long term) and Liam Kelly.
We will definitely miss Kelly, he is getting on a bit now but knows the game inside out and we are better when he is in the team.

McKiernan ill and first choice GK out following concussion protocol, so there's the answer!

I feel your pain, trying to sort out travel to Charlton next month and it's the same, something is very wrong when it's cheaper to fly to other countries than travel within your own.

We've got lots of players coming back from injury (only five left of the 13 we had out at one point) and we've looked a bit unsettled trying to fit them back in (yeah yeah, first world problems and all that). DC's determination to go to a back three as soon as personnel allow, when we've looked so much better with a back four, is something I'll never understand.

Trams were pretty shite to Rotherham when I went, only half an hour or so. Would be a bit overrun with you lot

Must have been some restriction when you came.
I couldn't find any hour with fewer than two services?

According to South Yorkshire Travel :-
There are up to 3 services an hour from Rotherham Parkgate to Sheffield Cathedral via the Supertram route to Meadowhall South / Tinsley and then via Rotherham Central station to a brand new tram stop at Parkgate Shopping.

OK 3 an hour then. I'm sure I had to wait 30 minutes last year (non football day).
It's hardly the Central line though is it

I didn’t even know the tram went to Rotherham.

I fucking despise trams mind, particularly the ones in Wroclaw, Amsterdam and Nottingham

It's the Central Line compared with my bus service into town, but I get your point.
Also, there are buses from Sheffield to Doncaster via Rotherham Bus Station for £2 at the minute.
