It wasn’t a top notch performance. We were good with the ball, but we’ve given away 3 shockingly bad goals. Good finishes on the first 2 but so poor from us.

i agree if we’d had 11 players we’d have got something, but if like people say it was a red, then again it’s our own stupid fault.

I fear today will be a turning point in our season. Our squad is now wafer thin with the injuries and now a 3 game suspension. I fully expect we’ll lose the next two tough away games with our depleted squad.
The main issue I had with our performance was just we put so many crosses in, and besides the corner we scored from, I don't think a single one created any sort of danger

No,your not the first.
They were like that at Pools, especially the little shit up front.
It was like being back in the NL again with all the diving(sorry gamesmanship) going on.

Wimbledon we’re like that at mansfield too, little soft london lads who didn’t like being duffed up a bit, couldn’t handle the physical side of it.

As it was we put 5 past them but their antics were embarrassing.

I won't fuck off. I bothered to turn up today.

There's a time to be negative and we've had an hell of a lot of it during the last 15 years but now is certainly not a time for negatively.

We lost a game but our performance was spot on. Everything you need to know about today was shown by the reaction of the Orient players and officials at full time. They know that they got away with one.

No need to soil your nappy.
If you go back and read what I said, I never said we played bad, I just refute claims that it was a spot on performance when we made errors like we did today.

And the reason I fear we’ll lose the next 2 is because we hardly have any players to field in the forward positions. Plus Moxon might be out with head injury protocols (but hopefully not). We’re down to the bare bones.

I thought the goal scorer was waking back from an offside position. I’ll await the replay later.
Watched it again, very, very tight decision - your right back might have been playing Drinan on but its certainly 50/50 and could've gone either way.

Our own fault we lost, can blame referee but the goals conceded were shocking,
Goalkeeper was dreadful and no one tried to close down…….you cannot gift top of the table 3 goals and even think you will get anything.

Red was shocking but nowt you can do, we flogged that one ourselves.

Exactly. Totally our fault. This is exactly why it can’t possibly be classed as a top class performance as has been mentioned previously.

Fair enough. I thought live that it was a good bit offside, but maybe I was too focused on Huntington and Whelan’s positions.

Bloody hell, you carlisle fans don’t half like the drama!
It’s the most important thing in this city. Nothing else compares. Bad refereeing decisions are treated like a terrorist attack on us.

Also, what a fantastic fucking win that was. An entertaining game, and will our injuries and suspensions to have take 4 points from 2 away games at Orient and Stevenage is a top effort. Hoskins should be back soon too, so we’re in a great position with 5 or 6 to come back.

Rovers drawing at Harrogate, an even game, where we had the better chances but needed to come from a goal behind. Perhaps we tried to mirror the hosts direct style too much, we play better keeping the ball on the ground. Hopefully a glitch and we get back to winning ways v Dale midweek.

What went on with the second goal. I saw the defender lose it with Holy off his line, but didn't see which defender it was, or whether it was a poor pass from Holy or poor control from the defender

Mellish slipped on his arse and lost the ball. But to be honest I don’t think Holy should give it to him with the attacker that close. Good finish but poor from our point of view.

Also there was a foul on Whelan about 20 seconds before this incident.

I thought today was Holy’s worst performance since joining the club. I nearly shit myself when he tried to catch the ball with one hand and ended up nearly punching it in his own net.

Easy Swindon win. Clear quality gap between the likes of Hutton, Williams and our lot. Some of the players are painfully out of their depth at this level.

Just scrolled through about 6 pages of Bradford and Grimsby chat, must have been a quality game, can't wait to watch all the goals on the ITV show tonight.

Wellens not happy with conduct of Carlisle fans during the game behind the dugout, said he and the staff were personally abused all game.

Said he shouldn't have acted how he did at the final whistle, but was giving it back at the end.

Today has shown why Josh Kay is nothing more than a a decent NL player, scores, and takes a shit penalty. Plus gets sent off a lot.

Would've taken a point before the game, but missing a pen at 1-0 is two dropped for sure. Still, we're mid table plodders, which is exactly what I'd hoped we'd be. 24 points required from 32 games for the absolute bare minimum.

Looks like the officials have reported the incident.

Idiots, all that happens is Carlisle will end up closing the standing bit off behind the goal and get fined.

Yeah he was getting a load of abuse. The usual “wanker” “dickhead” shouts when he was whinging, but his subs were doing the wanker gestures as well. It was back and forth. Then Wellens was really giving it at the end, as was George Moncur and this really riled fans up and that’s when some people lost it.

Wellens claims that a coin was thrown at him. This I didn’t witness, but maybe it happened.

STRUGGLING Carlisle Utd try to kill opposition manager with spare change.

(But you know, cost of living crisis. Stick it in the leccy meter and keep the floodlights on another minute or so)

Big old softie.

I always think the Carlisle dug out is fantastic if an away manager, no where to hide with a bunch of angry fans right on top of you all game. You can argue, bicker or gloat at.

Think half the time managers enjoyed covid with no fans and atmosphere.

I love how there's always a foul or a handball or a clear penalty immediately before the opposing team scores a goal against Carlisle, definitely an EFL-wide conspiracy against you for sure.

Interesting that you've not mentioned the foul against us that wasn't given before your second goal, but I suppose you can't catch everything.

Why would I mention our second goal in a reply to Shoddy’s question about what happened for an Orient goal?

And as for the first part of your post, I mentioned a foul before the goal that I we were talking about. There were 2 other goals. There was a clear penalty today but it wasn’t before an opposition goal. It’s just completely laughable to hint or suggest that I always try blame the EFL on our failings. I’m probably the most critical fan when it comes to our players.

One of the best 0-0 games I’ve seen, two properly good sides battling it out. The ref helped that for the most part but was totally inconsistent towards the end.

No doubt we’ll both be up there this season based on that.
All that and another superb pie, chicken and maple, from Project Pie between the Pontoon and Main. Walsall are still the team to beat with the Balti but we must be next these days.

Same pie for me too, roasties shite but pie the best I’ve had at a football ground, great day all round, although view at the top of the main was shite.

It's really weird, we are 5th now but have looked far from being brilliant. Don't get me wrong 3 points is all we ask for but it's been a little bit of a grind to get 6 home points against two very poor sides. Baudry and Clayton a bit of a liability at the back today and Wakeling hasn't looked good since his new contract. We did score 2 good goals and probably should have put the game to bed second but it was far from as convincing as we would like.

As you say the next 3 games much tougher, wonder if we might bring Reed back for a bit of nous.
That’s a good summing up. Didn’t enjoy todays game at all as after being 2-0 up against bottom of the table we should have got 4,5 or 6. Have to say that although Hartlepool were poor they at least made a game of it albeit very defensively as opposed to Colchester last week who were appalling. Think Reed needs to come back in and fully expect to see him in the side at Bradford. 2 points from Bradford and Mansfield will set us up nicely. A win at either would be great but two defeats would probably tell us that we need to recruit in BBC January
