Where did you Mansfield fans go pre game? I was busy directing Mansfield fans to either Spoons on the Brayford or Stack on the train in.

There were plans to increase the stand you were in yesterday, but Covid/ increase in costs etc meant it wasn't viable at the moment. Instead they've added the bit to the back which is for the foundation and work in the community.

I don't think they'll ever do anything to the mismatch of stands on the far side. To be fair, capacity wise, it'd about the right size. That's two sell outs pretty much in the home ends so far, with around 8,000 home fans. Throughout rest of the season we'll be between 7,000-8,500 home fans (depending on opposition/ midweek etc). However if we remain up there throughout, it'll encourage others to come. If demand is there, they open up half the stand you were in to home fans.

Went to the square sail wethers first for a few and then across lincoln to the jolly brewer, which turned out to be a pretty decent setup, would go there again as was a bit out the way.

Aaron Lewis only been here a season, had a really good year at Newport at left back but only ever plays in midfield for us.

The concourse was just uneven tarmac slapped at the side of the stand in the open, the bogs were underneath the stand and looked brand new. The one sided exit reminds me of Salford, not a great stand is it.

The new building that's attached and behind the away end isn't quite finished yet, it houses the Lincoln City Foundation and we started building that about 15 months ago. The away stand was supposed to be fully rebuilt at the same time but the cost went from £2m for the Lincoln City Foundation building and re-building the whole away stand (increasing capacity by 1,000-1,500) to nearly £5.5m after Covid, so we rightly knocked that on the head but the Foundation bit still cost nearly £3m.

We're still looking at rebuilding the away stand at some point.

They were still decent though, like the bar, was a good set up, much better than the facilities we offer currently for away fans - though of course given the lack of space between the stand and the road it’s limited in what we can offer

@lincoln fans - There ever any plans to do anything opposite your main stand /to the left of the away end, you could easily get another few thousand in there.

Not much room for expansion because the access road and public road that runs around the back of the stands and the added complication of the stand housing some of the restaurants, boardroom, changing rooms, offices, club shop, ticket office, general staff offices.

It was something that was looked at years ago but even back then it was looking like £10m+ so I dread to think what it'd be now and we obviously don't have that kind of money.

Can't recall ever seeing away disabled fans there and won't have done the last three or four seasons anyway because we put a temporary 250 seater stand in that gap (in preparation for the away end roof being taken off as part of the development that didn't happen).

As David says, the home ones under the exec boxes behind the other goal so I'm not sure why they weren't there.

Bolton had a lot of the possession but did nothing with it, Mannion made 3 saves all of which were pea rollers straight at him and our defending restricted you to speculative shots outside the box. We didn't look like conceding the whole game. Meanwhile, our press led to your defence panicking on numerous occasions allowing us to intercept the ball and overload you many times. Alongside the two goals, Baxter made a fantastic save from Docherty and Aneke missed a free header from 8 yards out.

But hey, if we do only care about stats - we had 4 shots on target and you had 3. Hope that helps

Your press was ok at best, it was our defence that was woeful and our management even worse. To play away with two in midfield is football suicide. Our three forwards are not playing as a three and are playing as individuals and dropping back into midfield to try and influence the game......Any outsiders reading this akin to Kane for England it does not work.
We got away with it against Orient first game only because Baxter was exceptional.
Fair play Jones has turned Charlton around, but i stand by they wont go up this season

We’re not world beaters, we beat a poor Bolton side but can only beat what is put in front of you. Definitely not getting carried away, much tougher tests to come like Shrewsbury in a couple of weeks but it’s a good start.

Wrexham beat Reading 3-0 and Lincoln beat Mansfield 4-1 with less possession than 36%. This league brings a good clash of styles between possession based football and direct football and often the latter is more effective. Charlton the last few seasons have often dominated the ball, passed it around the back and been beaten comfortably and that's what happened to Bolton on Saturday. Ineffective possession and shots from distance or poor angles, due to good defending around our box that didn't trouble our keeper once

Beat Orient 2-1 away, we didn't play that well but we didn't need to play that well and that is likely to be a theme, blues at 60 percent will win games and that is a sign of a good team, we have not gelled and we will get better.

Credit to Leyton Orient who pressed well and caused problems but BPF had only one save of note to make all game.

Their keeper had a stinker and Wellens does have a whiff of the Nathan Jones about him.

Yes, and that wasn't a one off. Wrexham have played this way ever since Parkinson took over. In almost every game the opposition team has much more possession, but we have tended to win most of the games because we have been able to soak up pressure and restrict chances, and we have been pretty lethal on the counter attack.

Obviously that will be tested this season against better quality sides who may be better able to make their possession count.
