Very happy with our draw against Colchester today - they were much better than any team we faced last season and we were the better team. Should've won it really, and a little bit more luck we could be on 7 points.

Have to really fancy us against Carlisle next week.

LOL at Bolton.

Barrow 1 Colchester 1 - should have won it.. Quigley bent a 20 yard curler against the post with their goalie like a statue
I hate to tell you this, but shots that hit the post shouldn’t win games.

Another game, another one without a win.

a keeper who can’t keep
A defence who can’t defend.
A midfield who did a passable attempt at a Madeline McCann level of disappearance
Aimless hoofball to 2 immobile forwards who’ve the turning circle of the Titanic.
no plan B

jesus fucking Christ, here we go again.

On the other hand, if I remember correctly, Exeter were last a few years ago in October under Tisdale and still managed to make their way into the playoffs that same season without sacking the manager.

Very disappointed with the U's performance today. We sat so deep at times that I felt like I was watching us against some really good championship side in the FA cup.

I didn't see anything wrong with the disallowed goal tbh, though I think the lino thought it was offside (which it wasn't btw) but the ball had clearly gone out of play for a U's throw-in in the lead up to the 'goal'. So I don't think Tranny should feel hard done.

Anyway, Tranny are a very decent side and will deffo be up there come the end of the season., just like many on here predicted them to do after all. Good luck for the rest of the season Tranny fans.

As expected, second half was mostly defence vs attack. We only have ourselves to blame for losing that, I'm not going to claim that we were unlucky or that we deserved a win but we did most things better than Scunthorpe for most of the game and played a lot better than we did in those opening games v Cambridge and Oldham.

We don't have the wherewithall to break down resolute defences but if we don't go behind so easily then we don't have to face resolute defences, and we have yet again made an otherwise decent performance worse with a lapse in concentration. Cambridge was a bit different because they got two goals, and early but the pattern was similar in that we put ourselves behind and then it's too easy for opponents to just keep us from scoring. If Southend had wanted a 0-0 last weekend they could probably have had one.
I would be slightly concerned as we seemed to want to give you at least a point with defensive change after defensive change, thankfully your shooting was pretty abysmal. However, you seemed to do pretty much every better than us and I think that'll show over the season, you'll finish above us.

I thought it was actually November but now you've said October, October 23rd rings a bell.

We did hand him his notice, rather than sacking him. But that's because we couldn't afford to sack him.

Ta lad you boys as well. Take a couple more weeks for us to fully gel but we’re getting there despite not scoring a goal in the league so far! Hopefully that changes against Scunny next week!

Yeah, honestly I didn't see the equaliser coming. I felt from 60 minutes on, the pattern was set. If you want concern just give HG a bell.

I don’t think Scunthorpe will ever have such an off day but pick up 3 points again.

And us.

another season of dodging relegation awaits

You won't be in a relegation battle imo. This season looks to me to be a repeat of 2015-16 with us, Oldham, and Bolton taking the roles of York, Dagenham, and Yeovil.

Seems like a reasonable point in the sort of away game we typically struggle with. Seen a clip of Chilvers' strike for our goal and it was a belter.

Five points from Bradford (A), Bolton (H) and Barrow (A) would appear to be a decent enough return on paper. Certainly before the start of the season, at least.

I am gutted we did not win today as we were by far the better side, controlling midfield pretty much from start to finish. The only concern is that again we did not create enough chances relative to the possession we had, but hopefully that will come in time.

Those were really soft goals. We will do better than last season now we are fitter and working harder but this could be boring particularly when we lose.

Harrogate are shit houses but very good at it. If they don't go full pelt and manage the busy schedule well, they'll comfortably finish mid table. Need to be careful they don't burn themselves out by February though.

Positives for us - another game unbeaten, another clean sheet, still sit 2nd with a decent set of games coming up. Hope our very good squad depth pays dividends in a busy October. Good not to lose and even better not to concede, if you're not at your usual level of performance.

Tranmere are a decent side but for all the domination of possession they had they don't look that threatening in the final third. I think that could cost them finishing in the top 7 if they don't improve that.

From our perspective that's certainly a point gained. In the past 2 or 3 years we would have lost that so I'm pleased to come out of the game with a point, no goals conceded in three and top of the league. Tough game next week away to Exeter.

We were the better side today, which is good.

Our shooting was less good though. Also need someone gambling when balls get played across the box, service was decent but no one to finish it. Decent point though.

the first goal was sunday league stuff.

the problem is the football is absolutely awful to watch, if we win it’s passable but when we don’t (which we haven’t in 5 games) it’s tedious.

exeter has worked us out after 30 minutes and still the endless aimless balls into the stands continued for the entirely of the game, no plan B is a particular concern

You weren't that bad, top half finish easy I'd say. Probably around play offs.

lol, give over.

Exeter didn’t have much about them at all, and still won the game at a canter.

Still unbeaten in all competitions.

It is possible for a League Two team to be unbeaten in all competitions in 2013-14, win three trophies and get into Europa League, and still be relegated into the Conference.
