Our game at Rotherham has just been called off because of Covid cases in our camp. We had 16 available on Boxing Day, so that's at least three more who've tested positive. Ipswich will now be in doubt, although it could be that the two or three who missed Boxing Day *might* be available again depending on when late on last week they were positive.

We were playing a team whose manager and a few players had tested positive, and yet the players were bunched together in the tunnel, our players got very close to our fans for both goals and at the end the contact between players was like pre-Covid. Maybe it is a coincidence that both us and Cheltenham have called their games off, but I suspect there is a correlation.

Maybe it is a coincidence that both us and Cheltenham have called their games off, but I suspect there is a correlation.

Tbh it wouldn’t surprise me if there have been a few outings and guidelines not really adhered to by some .

Also all they are all human like the rest of us and have personal lives too so will go shopping or collect kids from school.

This current variant seems to spread between people very easily.

Sure most do their best to stay safe and keep sticking to the guidelines but sometimes it can be hard or out of their control .

Being vaccinated doesn’t stop you catching COVID either of course .

I agree with everything you say, but it strikes me that there are some obvious things players/clubs can do to at least show they are taking things seriously during a match.

Well, we can hardly complain, given that we've caused our last three games to be postponed. I've only just found out from this thread this morning that the game is off! I must have missed a news cycle .

The Cambridge squad have only just come down with Covid after playing a couple of days ago, so highly likely our fixture on the 3rd Jan will also be called off. Next scheduled league game after that is 15th Jan

I was a bit worried when we played Cheltenham on Boxing Day given that they had had some cases, and there appeared for example to be no segregation in the tight tunnel before the match. Yesterday morning I realised there was an issue when it became clear Argyle TV was not advertising any packages, but you were. It is a shame as it was a sell-out and the club will lose quite a bit of money, but hey ho.

I can't say what happened before they came through the tunnel, but both teams did enter the field separately on Boxing Day.

Tbh, as soon as I heard Duff and Pollock had Covid I knew tonight's game would be off, along with Saturday's against Oxford (though that's not official yet).

I don't agree with it, but it's no doubt a blessing for us.

On our subscription Argyle TV they have Matchday Moments, which includes behind the scenes stuff. When they came out for the warm up each team was separate, this was not the case immediately prior to kick off. Like ours your tunnel is very narrow. Most of your team came out of their dressing room first, but a few of ours were filtering out with them. Then both teams lined up next to one another, some of our players such were engaging in some physical contact with at least one of yours - hand clasping, arms round the shoulder sort of thing. The last in your line up, short with a beard, possibly Williams clearly knew a couple of ours. Then your team came out first which is what you saw, but prior to that both teams and the three officials were very close.


Looking around, and speaking to a GP family member, it normally takes 5-6 days from contact to a failed test, but it can be two days. I actually suspect it unlikely we got it from you. Our team travel so much together it is highly likely one got it from outside the team and it went through fairly quickly, and the fact that both our teams have it is probably coincidental.

Having just won two on the bounce, got our mojo back and a big sell out it is a pain in the backside for us.

Much needed 3 points tonight, great goal from Murphy to win it. It felt like we were going take a mistake for Morecambe to score, which we did and as per usual made a few in the 2nd half leading to attacks, or chances. Absolutely brilliant from the Morecambe commentary team…but but we are so much better, Crewe players falling over, wasting time, 8 minutes injury time…could have been double Of course they would never do that. After going ahead thought Crewe were pretty comfortable But 2 teams competing in a mini league to stay up.

Aren't you supposed to have some players back from isolation as it is only 7 days now which will change the equation for our game?

Enjoyed our game tonight as we were excellent in the 3-0 home win over Wimbledon. We could have won by more if we had been clinical (as usual we weren't).

Amazed to say by Trevor Kettle's standards he had a very good game tonight. Questions on bookings/non bookings but overall let the game flow.

This is the most competitive league one since we’ve been down here. Personally i think Rotherham will win it however is the Accy result a one off or are they due a blip.

As far as I'm aware, and I've really not kept abreast of it to be honest, only Mattie Pollock had it ahead of the Plymouth game along with Michael Duff. Duff is back in the building today.

Doing so under the radar a little at the moment, perhaps due to the skewed fixture list and the table not reflecting our form particularly (as we are yet to trouble the autos). My thoughts are volume of fixture postponements/interest in football from outsiders understandably detaching themselves a little if their club isn’t playing probably help.

Positively we go into each game expecting a result. Something we have done in spells in seasons gone by, however not with the same squad depth, consistency, nous and ruthlessness in attack as this season. Vitally (unlike last year), we don’t seem to fear the better sides in the league and are picking up points.

Quite liking the postponements. Haven't played since 11th Dec, and may not play again until the 15th Jan, and yet we remain top of the form table. This is a bit like our record of retaining the FA Cup for the longest time (1939 to 1946)

What a massive win. Morecambe were very poor. We wernt much better but atleast we showed some fight to come from behind and defended reasonably well after taking the lead.

The fans haven't given up this season, especially our away support has been great this season, given our position in the league, and yesterday was one of the first times it looked like the players had real fight.

yeah, you did have better chances which you failed to put away though.

We didn't look great by any means, and the quality of our crosses was particularly weak. I thought your defence were also pretty good at cutting out our service from long balls, which meant we didn't have a whole lot going on in attack.

Oh well, it's not like we were dogshit or anything, we just looked a bit off the pace, hopefully we can avoid too many further cancellations and actually get back in some sort of rhythm again.

Job done with a solid performance to welcome in the Mckenna era.

Wycombe have been a really ugly side in both matches against us this season. Burms & Mckenna described them as "the most direct side in England" and it's hard to argue with that.

Another game postponed, this time Accrington. No league match now from December 18th to January 15th unless something gets chucked in on the Tuesday night beforehand. It also means we'll have played one home league match on a Saturday afternoon between 30th October and 22nd January. At least I'm getting my fill of Jeff Stelling before he calls it quits!

Accrington game off now after 8 players tested positive this morning after last nights game, so I would expect Shrewsbury Sheff Wed to go too, after they played an Accrington team riddled with it.

Dont see how we can fulfill the seasons fixtures now unless the season is extended.
