The football has been dire for the last few months and people have voted with their feet. The attendance was much better Saturday so hopefully they will recover a bit now.

Not sure we managed to string together more than half a dozen passes at any point but very happy with the 3 points, going to make the journey home feel slightly less long. Important win which I didn't expect especially considering the team we could out out, still need to remember how to play properly though!

None of the current bottom 4 look likely to escape tbh.

Southport v Nuneaton is a big game on Saturday. If Nuneaton win it would really put pressure on Alfreton and Southport

Not the best set of results for us tonight especially if Southport beat Nuneaton Saturday. although Dartford did lose.

Could do with 3 points Saturday

Sounded like we were awful again but thankfully we got away with it due to Braintree being bobbins. Akinola sounded a decent player, think Brovers fans said he looked the business last week too?

Back to 3rd. No one can catch us with their games in hand now. 2 very winnable home games coming up (though need to give Aldershot some respect, they've just hit some form, but gives us a very small outside chance to close the gap at the top again in the next 7 days.

#MaccMachine2015 stalled its engine on saturday but might have just had it bump started again tonight.

What a win, fully deserved. It will be hard to see past Barker getting the job full-time now - one defeat in five/four unbeaten, up to 16th and 10 points clear.

Two headed goals from Jim Stevenson, the 2nd was a brilliant set-piece routine from the training ground. Nearly let Dover back in it when they scored but McCollin's determination late on paid off with a great finish. Really liking Sean McGinty, on loan from Rochdale. What a player at just 21 years of age.

Diamonds didn't play, but still moved a small step closer to promotion, with the only other viable candidates to go up falling to a loss. Desborough beat Holbeach 2-1 at home, in the first game since we went there and won 9-0. Unexpected is certainly up there with the terms I would use to describe that one.

In the title race Wisbech overcame Yaxley winning 3-2 away, closing the gap to 4 points with 1 game in hand. This was a tough fixture, and one they fell behind in before coming back to win it in the 90th min.

Another big result for us tonight. Made hard work of it in the first half. Got an early goal and looked like we were going to score with every attack. Joe McNerney got injured early on and we had to reshuffle the defence which didn't help. Two quick goals in the second half killed them off and it was then comfortable.

Dartford were very hoof ball-y. When they did pass it in the final third they were alright. Lee Noble continues to be the little rat that he's always been. Just the yellow card for him tonight instead of the usual red. Fortunately, we'll never have to play them again! :woo:

Good win for us, nice to see a win at home for a change. Not a classic and Wrexham, although tidy in their build up play offered little other than punts into the box or from set pieces. Excellent goals from Rodman and Gooch, the former having a really good game.

Was amazed to see how many shots Braintree had, and then how many were off target! Akinola was alright at our place, lots of pace in both him and Mensah up top.

Just got in from work so no idea how we played, very happy with the win though. Its always important to bounce back from a heavy loss and not get stuck in a rutt.

On reflection, not a bad night's work for us.

* Woking's win means they still harbour play off hopes and must beat Grimsby on Saturday.
* Macclesfield's win keeps them in contention ahead of their crunch clash with Bristol Rovers at the end of the month. I don't want Macc to have fallen adrift ahead of that fixture.
* Aldershot picking up form ahead of their fixtures with both Macclesfield and Bristol Rovers. They can take points off both if they want.
* Southport's win is a massive knock for the sides down in the bottom four, who are in danger of being cut adrift. We have still to play three of those sides. Hopefully, the gap opens up and they are resigned to their fate by the time we take them on.
* Halifax losing ramps up the importance of their upcoming fixture against Bristol Rovers.

We drew 1-1 against Rushall Olympic but Ikestons win at Blyth Spartans means we are just now 3 points clear at the top.

Welcome to the forum mate. Big game in a few weeks at home to Ilkeston. Still not decided who I would like to go up. perhaps both. One through playoffs and one as champs.

And your right it is a massive massive game hopefully we can get the 3 points and Greaves can add to his tally of 22 goals so far this season.

Last night was a massive game, could easily have fallen away out of the playoffs by the Bristol game. Instead we now have a couple of decent home fixtures.

Interesting month ahead.
