£99m for the team that finish bottom, 126 games per season, more Friday night and midweek tv games.

Can't help but feel this should lead to a drop in ticket prices and more help for grassroots football which is dying on it's arse and as the gap between the Prem and FL gets bigger so will the FL. Teams dropping out the Prem will struggle so much after parachute payments stop.

Friday night football is great for the armchair supporters but terrible for the proper supporter....The only way it would work is to make Friday night games local derbies e.g. Chelsea QPR or Liverpool Everton. It's the only way everyone wins. In reality it'll be Sunderland v Spurs.

It would be very interesting to see a similar table once the latest TV deal has been taken into account.

Throw in those huge parachute payments and it won't be long before there's just an impassable gap at the top made up of relatively super-rich clubs getting £100m windfalls every year or so.

If you're not in the club, it'll be very hard to break in within a few years. There could be a spate of clubs in financial trouble soon as chairmen gamble to get in there.

I don't get this idea that more money will make the Premier League a shut up shop with 20 of the same 25 or so sides. Premier League clubs earn vastly more money than Championship Clubs. In the last few years we have seen numerous sides get relegated form the Premier League to League 1 or below. Portsmouth, Wolves, Sheffield United, Leeds, Charlton etc.

Of those who went down last year they currently sit 17th, 19th and 23rd in the Championship. None of them are coming back up. If anything one or two will go down. Bottom of the league sit Blackpool a top flight side just a couple of years ago. All these receive parachute payments. As far as I am aware none of the current top 5 in the Championship receive any payments. Why will this change? Championship sides feel the effects of the Premier League money as bloated transfer fees are passed down to them. Ulloa and McCormack must have gone for about £20million between them despite not having played top flight football.

Just signed up here (Hello again) to say I read about this the other day and it would seem that Sky bid more than they needed or can actually afford. This has lead to Sport package gong up by £1 as they don't want to alienate subscribers who could easily stream for free but more interestingly the family package will be going up by £3 a month to cover it.
