In my opinion it wasn't time wasting as that just appeared to be how long Carlisle take to do things, even when they were 1-0 down at 10 men they didn't speed up very much if at all. If that's how long they take then I'm not too fussed really, that's their problem.

In general I don't have a problem with it, just teams doing what they have to to win, we've done it plenty this year ourselves so we aren't exactly in a position to be moaning at others.

Ask anyone at the game, your guys were dallying around, crossing sides of the pitch to take throw ins, purposefully dropping the ball or throwing it nowhere near where it needed to be. Keeper constantly walking from one side of area to the other to take his goal kicks. It was clear intentional time wasting.

Did it not occur to you that we were actually just crap? Actually Dan Hanford was probably just trying to visualise the centre of the pitch when taking an age over his goal kicks.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
I have the view that Curle had in his mind that due to Tuesdays morale crushing defeat that Luton could have ended with a thumping which could have set us back drastically.

so given what i heard of the match and read here i think his entire tactic was just to defend deep, waste time so win, loss or draw the one thing that didn't happen was a crushing thumping....and that was at all costs.

I think that is also why when Luton thankfully went down to 10 men we still didn't drastically press or take big risks.

Very very defeatist and he'd have to watch if he did try that approach as our fanbase won't put up with that long (its that stuff murdered Abbotts reign) but i think he did it to try and reduce the damage so we can re-focus next game vs Wycombe.

Realistically we were never getting anything from the game were we. 1-0 is one which can easily put behind us so I wouldn't have any big issues with Curle making sure it stayed a small loss.

Intentional or not it does bother me that we were so unenterprising following on from a game where we played so well against one of the division's high fliers. Even if you'd already pointed out that a small defeat wouldn't be as disastrous for morale as a thumping. We have another chance to put it right against Wycombe, we can still come out of this little triad of tricky games with our heads held high if we can get a result back at BP.

I may be wrong and I certainly don't agree with it shoddy, I just got that feeling when listening to that game we sounded happy enough to play for the 1-0 defeat than risk going 2 down trying to level it up.

which hasn't been like us in recent away games when we gave as much as they gave us.

either Luton just had a great game and we simply never got going or we did worry too much about how Tuesday would effect us to in the end focus on trying to focus on the Saturday.

All will become clear on Saturday against Wycombe.

Our next home game after that though is Cheltenham... which could be a huge game for us, we'll probably need the shot in the arm of a win by then to put a gap back between us and relegation and Cheltenham are on the sort of form where we need to be beating them.
