Ok firstly I dont think its in the bag yet. Maybe from an outside perspective it is as 9 points guarantees us the title, but Swansea is probably the only side of the remaining games where we'd be expected to get a win. I don't think we'll lose more than 2, but draws are definitely possible. Then it's if Spurs can win all their matches. Stoke away and Chelsea up next. I'd expect Chelsea to get something. I'd love the good Stoke side to play and not the one that rolls over seemingly with it's head somewhere else. But if we lose a game and Spurs win, we're down to a 4 point gap with games to go. If it were down to 4, who'd expect us to win then with Man Utd away, Everton home and Chelsea away? I think tunes would change pretty quick.

As for next season the only difference we'd have is the CL games. We can use the domestic cups the same way we did this season, by putting out the second string and giving them experience. We can afford to bring in anybody we want really, finances are not a problem, just keeping a happy balance with the current squad. We don't want to bring in Musa from CSKA for example (someone we tried to get in January but the fee kept escalating) if he's going to want 150k a week when our top players are on half of that (though they'll all be looking for new contracts no doubt). Again due to the finances we can easily resist if the big boys come in, it's wether the individual players can resist which is an entirely different problem. Really Mahrez and Kante are the only 2 that realistically people will try to poach. Vardy will be considered too old and a possible one season wonder, none of our defenders will be deemed good enough. Drinkwater is generally underrated thanks to his French accomplice. Nobody really stands out. I hope and think most would stay with us for next season, and then if it goes badly look for pastures new, but it all depends who comes in making what offers.

If we make one or 2 good signings in the summer like we did this, then we could do really well for ourselves next season. A couple more Inlers and we'll not have made any advances at all.
After this though I think the target would be a CL finish. And even then that's not an expectation, just the place we'd hope to be.

i dont think they are through, still a lot of games to play. ( when Arsenal would be in the second spot, i would say Leicester would even the championship by losing all games from now on, but they arent) if Tottenham can close the cap a little in the next two games Leicester could easily going nervous.
they were riding on a wave of success until now, but the hardest games are the last ones.

dont get me wrong i still hope they win the premiership, but the hardest part is awaiting them now.

I really can't see anything but maximum points against Swansea and Everton, and I reckon they'll pick up at least point against West Ham and United. Of course mathematically it's not over but I've seen nothing from Leicester to suggest they will choke now. I really hope not anyway.

Remind the forum how many away games Everton have lost all season to date..................here's a clue it's no more than 2.

Well, I must be wrong in that case. There is no way Everton, a team with nothing to play for and who are trailing by 33 points, are going to lose away at Leicester.

And who are those 0/1/2 teams you lost against? Just interested.

Still, I doubt you'll gain anything from Leicester.

The title race has already been won.
The only run-in still open is the battle for a Top 4 finish.

I still can't make my mind up if Leicester will become a bit like Southampton now, in generally floating around the top eight and challenging for the Europa League spots, or go back to struggling near the bottom next season. I honestly think either is completely plausible.

So are we handing it back now then?

A loss yesterday could have made the finishing straight a little more interesting but that penalty made all the difference.

They need 6 points from their 4 remaining games for me, and they will get that. I still think they'll have it wrapped up by the time they kick off against Chelsea on the final day.

I have a feeling the majority of football fans would bet against Leicester finishing in the CL places next year, never mind winning it.

They're the same people (myself included) who kept repeating "they'll fall away in the next few games" up until March this year.

I meant this years title which people have decided we've already won. If Spurs close the gap to 5 points tonight I'm not sure if anyone would still think that. Especially with Vardy suspended.

I do. Mainly because the alternative would mean imagining Spurs winning the title. And I can't do that.

Apparently at the beginning of the season Aston Villa had better odds to win the title than Leicester did.

Nothing surprising about that at all. Even Everton would have.

Just the fact St. Totteringham's day looks unlikely for the first time in years would be enough for that.

they still wouldn't celebrate as much as Liverpool winning a quarter final tin pot tie.

Looks like Vardy will be getting a longer ban.
